The east india company (for example) was allowed to pillage other lands for the benefit of England because it was technologically possible and economically advantageous. The consequense of this is a lot of overweight westerners while half the world's population starves. It's not right, but it happened and if you had any sense of justice you would want affairs to be a bit more balanced.
