i agree the road warriors were great but no way the greatest in my opinion they were beatten by some teams and they beat some teams .they had problems with smaller teams so thats why i say great not the greatest .
The Road Warriors were unstoppable and on their way to becoming the biggest thing to hit tag team wrestling ever. I used to love watching them on Georgia Championship Wrestling with the National Titles... They were the epitome of what BADASS is supposed to be!
That whole match was just one big DQ, waiting to become official. Decent brawl, though, even if Lawler and Idol got in far more offense than a non-Memphis fan can understand.
The 4 guys in the ring weren't just Super Mega Stars! They shaped, defined, redefined and made wrestling what it was in the 70's and 80's. There is, was or never will be a more dominating team than The Road Warriors! RIP Hawk!
Im not sure, But I bet when someone see's your comment they can answer that, I didn't get the Memphis wrestling in my area in the 80's. All I got was NWA&WWF. I do enjoy watching the old CWA. To bad its not availible to buy on DvD.
The RW's appeared in several promotions as champs. I just found an old clip of RW's vs. Jim Duggan and Magnum TA in Mid South. They were International Tag Champs then and TA & Duggan were MSW Tag champs.
no, they didnt become the International Tag Team champs until 87. Good ole JR (Jim Ross) made a mistake on the RWs first appearance on Mid-South TV and they continued calling them that the rest of their Mid-South TV dates
Thanks for clearing that up. By the way,how many times did Hawk & Animal appear on Mid South?,someone posted a promo they did standing in front of the old blue Mid South set but I can't seem to find it now. I love rare clips like that. Jim Ross making a mistake?!?! Must have been an off day for him,he's usually on point.

I remember this match. Jerry Lawler gave a lot to the Warrios to push them over. They were the first to "no sale" the King's piledrivers.

Wish I had more old Memphis wrestling to share, This is all I have. I would like to see some old USWA with Billy Jack Haynes as their champ.
