Never had this cereal since I was young, I remember going to Key Food, PathMark and a few stores in my hometown, Brooklyn to see where Crispy Critters was on store shelves, but sadly, it was gone. less sugary and not that great of a cereal.
boy this dang song. Id never thought I'd be tortured with it again. My name happens to be First name Chris Last name starts with a P and well you what happened.....yeah all through grade school..... cereal tasted like garbage too...
Thank you for posting this! I happened to just think about this commercial this morning, and I'm so glad I could see it! Brings back good memories of childhood!
LOL I remember this commercial from 20 years ago! My friends and I actually still laugh about it from time to time. It has great nostalgia value even though the cereal itself didn't last very long on the market.
I remember this commercial very well!!! I think its the all time best commercial!! The little girl is so cute!!! Although she is probably older than me now.
I remember that Durante commercial about Crispy Critters. The cereal didn't last long because there was nothing to grab the younger audiences into begging their parent's into buying it...maybe because it was low in sugar and didn't taste as good as the cereal loaded with sugar. Who knows? It could be that when the cereal debuted, nobody "got" the Jimmy Durante joke and kids probably wondered why this critter was singing at a piano in the commercial.

I didn't like this stuff. It was kind of bland.

This stuff was great! It was like Alpha-Bits, kind of, but less sugary, and less dense. It wasn't around long, though.

I never tried this stuff, but it was quickly discontinued. I hear it was like eating sawdust.

I wonder why they ripped of Jimmy "Schnozzola"
Durante for this commercial? He was about as relevant and recognizable to kids in 1987 (or anyone under 40 for that matter) as King Tut...

This is the version of the CC ad I remember and liked best. Still have an original (although empty) box! And 4 CC puzzle stories.

The ORIGINAL ads were voiced by Jimmy Durangte's peer Sheldon Leonard, and starred Linus the Lionhearted who went on to his own SHOW!!

Come to think of it they didn't have that much flavour in them due to a lack of sugar.
