  • I agree, Ali is number 1, Marciano is 2, Frazier is 3 and Foreman is 4.....in my book. You are a brilliant man of boxing....keep the videos coming.

  • Frazier ahead of Foreman? Are you nuts? Either of them ahead of Louis? Wow.

  • 1.Larry Holmes 2.Rocky Marciano 3.Muhammed Ali 4.Mike Tyson 5.Jack Dempsey 6.Jack Johnson 7.Joe Louis 8.Evander Holyfield 9.George Foreman 10.Sonny Liston

  • @whitedeviltx Much respect for Larry Holmes ! He is my number 1 also . I like your list with the exception of Marciano . All the other guys on your list would easily destroy Marciano in their primes . Foreman may have literally killed him . At 5 ft 10 185 pounds and not very quick with only 14 inch arms , he could never be HW today , most of his opponents were between 180-190 pounds . Homes had everything , speed , power , best jab ever , cardio , a good chin .

  • @MindofaJedi I believe Marciano is over criticised, he is the only undefeated HW ever, who always found a way to win, he had punishing power and chin and maybe the greatest heart of any fighter ever, I do believe had he fought in any other era he would still have had a great career and record. Foreman may have beat him so may have Liston or Tyson but the man was still great. But yes Holmes in my opinion was the best he had a little of everything and could beat most opponents with his jab alone.

  • Joe Louis number 10??? I rank Joe no. 3 and catch a lot of hell for having him too low.

  • You put Joe Louis too low, he might not have had great competition but that wasn't his fault he fought the best around in his time.

You also need to put Jack Johnson and Jack Dempsey in there somewhere, apart from that I agree with you.

George Foreman was a terrible boxer but no one could out-punch him.

  • i reset my list.#1ali # 2larry holmes #3jack johnson #4joe luis #5george foreman #6lennox lewis #7sonny liston #8jack dempsey #9rocky marciano #10tyson

  • 1) Joe Louis 2) Larry Holmes 3) ALI 4) Rocky Marciano 5) Joe Frazier 6) Evander Holyfield 7) George Foreman 8) Ezzard Charles 9) Sonny Liston 10) Mike Tyson.

  • @15230 1) Muhammad Ali 2) Rocky Marciano 3) Joe Louis 4) George Foreman 5) Larry Holmes 6) Mike Tyson

    7) Jack Johnson 8) Jack Dempsey 9) Valdimer Klistco 10) Sonny Liston

  • how are you to be a judge. are you a champion. Sonny Liston would have destroyed youy

  • joe louis was a little like ali but with more power, thats why i have louis beating foreman. prime holyfield vs prime foreman would be a great match but the reason i have holy over foreman is bc two of holy's strengths (insided fighting and stamina) are two of formans weaknesses. holyfield would ko him in the later rounds

  • your such an idiot forman was afraid of liston why dont you seperate your hate for liston versus facts

  • Ali ,All the skills. 2 Liston Sonny never got to fight Ali in his prime. All the tools., Greatest jab in the history of boxing 3 Frazier.

  • @danadana77 PRIME LISTON WAS 210-212 POUNS AND 6´0 HE FACED SMALL BOXERS AND STILL HIS % OF KO IS A JOKE. FOREMAN WOUL DKILL LISTON AND JOE FRAZIER WOULD WIN LISTON BY LATE TKO.

  • 1.Muhammed Ali

    2.Joe Louis

    3.Rocky Marciano

    4.Evander Holyfield

    5.Jack Johnson

    6.George Forman

    7.Joe Frazier

    8.Sonny Liston

    9.Larry Holmes

    10. Iron Mike

  • @sunzyu1 ACCORDING HIS CAREER, JOE LOUIS WAS GREAT, BUT GEORGE FOREMAN WOULD KILL JOE LOUIS AND MARCIANO LIKE INSECTS, AND PRIME FOREMAN 72-73 WOULD STOP EVANDER HOLYFIELD AND HE WOULD KO JONHSON ONLY ALI AND MAYBE LARRY HOLMES MIGHT OUTBOX PRIME GEORGE FOREMAN.

  • @jimmynablee Hey , thank you for the common sense comment . Foreman hit so hard ! He had a granite chin and might have killed Marciano with a single punch . A 5 ft 10 185 pound guy could not possibly take a punch from Foreman . Holmes is my pick for the number 1 HW ever. There are a few guys who could have probably outboxed and beaten a prime Foreman on points , but none were small . Lennox Lewis maybe or Pinklon Thomas in his prime also , but they wouldnt have dropped George .

  • fucking dumbass for saying joe luis # 10

    hes # 1

  • @b0dmonn this guy knows shit about boxing, imo joe deserves the 1st spot

  • "OK, let's start. Number 10 - Joe Louis." Stopped watching at this point...

Nah only joking. I was surprised though, most have Louis as a nailed-on top 2. But it's all about opinions I guess, and I respect yours.

  • You need to go back to boxing school.

  • #1 is joe louis, not #10

  • Joe Louis #10, Yeah That Sounds About Right. LOL

  • 1.joe louis

    2.ali

    3.lennox lewis

    4.larry holmes

    5.vitali klitschko

    6.evander holyfield

    7.jack johnson

    8.rocky marciano

    9.mike tyson

    10.wladimir klitschko

  • vitali over evander? are you crazy?

WHEN YOU SAY TO ME A BOXER WHO CAN WIN THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD WITH MORE OF 40 YEARS OLD AND AFTER TO BE RETIRED 10 YEARS, THEN I WILL SAY THAT I AM WRONG.

GEORGE FOREMAN deserve to be in a top 3..

you do not put him in your top 10.. but you put vilati, larry holmes, lewis and marciano, mike tyson... you are very coherent

  • ranntamplan13 foreman was tired in 6 rounds in his first career, look at foreman vs hoyfield, and lennox lewis? his chin was shit, and foreman had better prime than any boxer except ali . prime foreman was dominating more still than mike tyson.

larry holmes never won leyends in his prime. except 1 Finished ken norton(ali was a corpse). larry holmes is like marciano, great career but he won Mediocre boxers.

  • , remember what he said,.. the list is from the top of his head, & he,s made a few mistakes..,fraziers downfall, was he was always open to head shots,.!!. foreman was not a ring monster..as he never had consistent stanima.., & he says tyson had no heart,..!! tyson did have heart!!,& lots of it, when a fighter has no heart he crumbles , tyson always stood & took the beatings,

  • The biggest amount of rubbish I have ever heard. You do not know much about boxing. The top ten list should go more like 10)Rocky Marciano 9)Floyd Patterson 8)Sonny Liston 7)Jack Johnson 6)Mike Tyson 5)Larry Holmes 4)George Foreman-Joe Frazier equal 2)Joe Louis 1)Muhammad Ali
  • if u rate tyson and floyd patterson and sonny liston in front of lennox lewis, i cant take u seriously.ur one of those guys who think everybody from the ali era has to be in front

  • boxingglad good rank

  • but and holyfield? 4 times champ

  • I rank Holyfield 12th Lennox 11th. I just felt Lennox was boring and dunno about Evander just thought that he wasn't top ten.

  • holyfield? he is the only who won 4 times the heavyweight championship , in his prime 89-90 he would give the hell to any boxer in the history included prime ali.

  • Yes but the championship is de-valued with all the wba wbc wbo etc

  • no man, holyfield is in top 10 . FACTS AND OVER MIKE TYSON

  • Prime Tyson would have beaten Holyfield. It would go about 8 rounds but Tyson in his prime was a beast. He had loads of stamina, power, speed, he could take a punch and he had heart before he was champ.

  • i not agree!!! holyfield had a chin of iron, great great heart,skill,courage...

tyson was strong and fast BUT HE HAD A BAD CHIN.

    HOLYFIELD 89-90 WOULD WIN TYSON87.

WHO THINK THAT TYSON 87 COULD KNOCK OUT EVANDER, HE DO NOT KNOW WHAT HE SPEAK..

  • Tyson never had a bad chin so don't be silly.

  • 6 defeats 5by ko (really 6 by ko in holyfield2) yes yes great chin, you are silly

  • How many of those fights was Tyson ko'ed for real ? 2 against douglas and holyfield. In his prime he was a machine

  • if he was good in his prime it is other topic, i speak on his chin, mike tyson did not have a great chin. he had a great defense but bad chin.

  • and did holyfield not get floored by toney ? ? ? ? or whas it moorer ?

  • evander hoyfield never lost by ko as ali.

holyfield supported the hits of george foreman, mike tyson, ridick bowe, lennox lewis....

toney? you must be joking in this fght evander was finished

  • ali was never ko'd.he was tko'd (technical knock out)by larry holmes.ali was38years old! and holyfield was tko'd before.he was tko'd in his third fight with riddick bowe!holyfield was 32 years old.

  • yes i know.... ali never lost by ko. ali had better chin than evander. or any boxer except lamotta or chuvalo.

i have very bad english. sorry

  • stop using tyson's "PRIME" as a crutch!just because someone is out of their prime doesn't mean that they should not be a good fighter.ali beat many great fighters after his prime.what great heavyweight did tyson ever beat?in or out his prime.and holmes well, tyson was lucky holmes was old!

  • @saladooq - Yes but it wasn't his fault there were no great fighters. Ali would beat anyone he was a god!

  • @saladooq

couldnt agree more. In order to become an all-time great heavyweight u must beat the best boxers in ur era. Ali beat Frazier, Liston, Foreman, Norton, Shavers etc. Ali dominated in the greatest era in boxing. When Tyson was fighting, the best in his era were Bowe, Lennox, Holyfield and even an old Forman. Tyson loss twice to Holy and once to Lewis. Tyson=overrated

  • oh and lewis

  • TYSoN HAD HEART? never!!!

  • No no, when in 85/86 Tyson would go on fighting untill he won. It was only after 89/90 that his heart was completely gone.

  • I AGREE WITH YOU 100% ALI 1, FOREMAN 2 .

ali the best stylit and foreman the hardest puncher

  • just because foreman might have been the hardest puncher, doesnt put him in front.he didnt have no stamina ,got tired after 5 five rounds.

  • you are so right!!!

  • why so many removed comments?

  • I made a bunch of comments, and my own top 10....got too wordy, so I said screw it, deleted it all, and made my own video ;)

  • Good list. This topic always makes for healthy debate, although it often degenerates into a slanging match regarding the merits or otherwise of Mr Tyson. For the sake of argument this is my top 20. 1. Ali 2. Louis 3. Johnson 4.Holmes 5.Lewis 6.Foreman 7.Marciano 8.Liston 9.Dempsey 10.Frazier
  • 11. Holyfield

    12.Langford

    13.Tyson

    14.Charles

    15.Tunney

    16.Walcott

    17.Patterson

    18.Wills

    19.Norton

    20.Bowe

  • lewis wasnt that good lol he fought bums and got knocked out by bums.

  • 1. TYSON 2. Muhammad Ali 3.Evander Holyfield 4.Lennox Lewis 5.Joe Frazier 6.Sunny Liston 7. George Foreman 8.Jack Dempsey 9.Marciano 10. Larry Holmes This is the Perfect List, ALL HAIL TYSON ;) !
  • @tinyGhost17.... tyson number one??? ridiculous.

joe louis not in your top 10? LLLOOOOLLL. lewis held the title a record time of 11 years, record of 25 title defenses.larry holmes, who had 20 title defenses is only number 10?????

i hope i dont ever read a comment of yours

  • louis not lewis.typing mistake

  • tinyghost17 the perfect list? or stupid list?

  • who do not put Ali in first place,do not know the heavyweight history.

  • marciano ali forman fraizer holmes tyson liston louis V klitscko lewis W klitscko
  • 1. Tyson

    3. Louis

    4. Dempsey

    5. Foreman

    6. Ali

    7. Marciano

    8. Liston

    9. Frazier

    10 Johnson

  • norton was a chump.sorry, but he was intimidated by shavers and foreman and looked like a little boy.he was not great.his only real claim2fame was ali.you see he wasn"t scared of ali so he fought good.he had a better chin than what people think.he just didn't want2continue against some fighters.

  • #1 ali,#2 joe luis,#3 dempsey,#4holmes,#5foreman,#6 lennox,#7 jack johnson,#8liston,#9frazier,#10 marciano. i would love2put tyson but in the face of a challenge he folded.evander and bowe were good but not great.

  • that list is spot on

  • Arcie moore was a light heavyweight but he did fight on the heavy weight division like holyfield.

  • Marciano doesnt even make the top 10.

  • Rock Marciano never fought a caliber fighter in their Prime. He didnt fight anybody but old men has beens. But because he was white he was overrated.

  • very true. white boxers always get overrated. hatton marciano just to name a few

  • 1)Archie Moore Most knockouts 143kos

2)Joe Louis Longest to hold title 11yrs

    3)Muhammad Ali

    4)George Foreman

    5)Larry Holmes

    6)Joe Frazier

    7)Sonny Liston

    8) Floyd Patterson

    9) Ken Norton

    10) tyson

  • what a suprise ali!he was a good counter puncher and had cat like reflexes in his prime

but in his later career he relied on his ability to absord terrible punishment he had heart but was very disrepectful to his opponents fasier for example,i believe if he wasn't so like as a charactor he would be lower on most peoples lists, also why is lewis so high?he was in a bad era himself an ageing

holyfield and a way out of date tyson, look how bad he was against a fresh vatali!

  • I think its a good top ten. you can always that someoone is missing, but its so hard to describe and compare all those great boxers end put them a place on the list. but overall I thinks its an okay list.

  • That's a pretty good top 10, Laurie.

But in every top 10 some certain boxers are beeing missed, i.e. Jack Dempsey, Ken Norton, Jack Johnson, Earnie Shavers. Johnson with his great defense might be a bad match-up for Foreman, Dempsey might be too tough for Tyson.

    We'll never know.

But Ken Norton was really bad for Ali.

  • ali didn't have it all!he never hand a good ko punch,80's tyson would have destroyed him!!

  • i fink ur top 10 list was good except larry holmes and george foreman werent all dat. and i fink earnie shavers was a stronger puncher dan george foreman.

  • 1.Ali 2.Louis 3.Marciano 4.Johnson 5.Foreman 6.Dempsey 7.Lewis 8.Tyson 9.Frazier 10.Holmes + Tunney Liston Holyfield
  • btw any alltime heavyweight list with tyson in it has zero credibility

  • You guys are still in the Boxing thing about Bum fights! FEDOR IS THE BEST HEAVYweight ever better than anyone he could fight and beat anyone right now! Fedor can take any boxer or any guy you mention out... Don't know whos FEDOR is Just type in THE GREATEST FIGHTER IN THE WORLD Or type in FEDOR

  • top ten heavyweights 1 .Muhammad Ali 2 .Wladimir Klitschko 3 .Jack Johnson 4 .Rocky Marciano 5 .Vitali Klitschko 6 .Joe Frazier 7 .George Foreman 8 .Joe Louis 9 .Evander Holyfield 10.Lennox Lewis Disagree how no mentioning of either klitschko brothers they are top quality
  • why do you have frasier above foreman?

  • you my friend have gotta be retarded and/or dont have enough boxing background to make a list klitschos are both weak theyre good and at the top of todays heavyweight division but look at todays heavyweight division its pretty sad all of em are lazy i run harder than they do and im not a pro

  • lol u got klitschko as the number 2 heavyweight of all time?!?!?

  • Well Joe Louis is number ONE, Rocky Marciano is second. 3-10 off the top of my head anyone out of: Jack Sullivan, Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, Jack Johnson, Ezzard Charles, Muhammad Ali, Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, George Forman, Larry Holmes, Floyd Patterson, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis.

  • oh and cant forget Harry Wills, Sam Langford and Max Schmeling. so many...

  • I cannot understand why Rocky Marciano(and this is a question) is not recognized higher up the ladder, when he NEVER was beaten, and don't give me that old crap "who did he fight that was great" The man was NEVER beaten!!!! 49-O I think it was!!

  • sorry but in my opinion your completly wrong. 1. ali 2. marciano 3. dempsey 4. joe louis 5. jack johnson 6. gene tunney 7. george forman 8. joe frazier 9. gary moore 10. dean gaffney
  • Ali,Marciano,Dempsey,Joe Louis,Foreman,Frazier,Norton,Tyson,Lennox.

  • ps....and as for lennox lewis..no knock on him...but joe frazier can beat him in my book.... and also...im assuming that all of these boxers are at their peak whenever thed collide..but of all those boxers...who would you want in one fight for it all..at their peak.....call me crazy..but i want a prime holyfield....not fraziers hook...ali or holmes jabs...not jack or louis' freocious attacks once they had you..tyson and listens' fearful opponents..i want a beast who will fight all night long....

  • 1..ali 2..joe louis 3..marcianno 4..jack johnson 5..sonny liston 6..larry holmes 7..foreman 8..mike tyson 9..holyfeild 10..joe frazier........sorry,,but i dont think dempsey or gene tunney were great....very good,yes....

  • My personal list: 10. Mike Tyson 9. Evander Holyfield 8. Jack Johnson 7. Jack Dempsey 6. George Foreman 5. Lennox Lewis 4. Larry Holmes 3. Rocky Marciano 2. Muhammad Ali 1. Joe Louis
  • I think your ranking is superb!

    Cheers!

  • Ali,Foreman,Holmes,Marciano,Dempsey,Lewis, Liston,Tyson,Frazier,Louis.

  • Muhammad Ali, Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Evander Holyfield

  • Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Joe frazier, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Jack Dempsey.

  • the most exciting heavyweights were muhammad ali and mike tyson because they were the best of their era's. ali was the 70's and tyson was the 80's.

  • Ive boxed all my early life and ,i do not agree.. no1 is a joint position between sugar ray leonard world champ at 5 different weights and rocky marciano the only boxer to have fought 49 professional fights and won all retiring undefeated.

  • 1.)Ali 2.)Joe Louis 3.)Marciano 4.)Dempsey 5.)Jack Johnson 6.) Sam Langford 7.)Foreman 8.)Frazier 9.) Liston 10.)Holyfield/Lewis

  • ali is the greatest fighter of all time!!!

  • your list sucks!!!

  • #1 is TYSON, #2 ALI

  • Fuck off Ali owns Tyson u fag.

  • Lennox Lewis? Good fighter with questionable chin.Holyfield win is over a guy who was a basket case, performance wise, over the last several years of his career.Tyson was completely shot.lewis did show great heart against Mercer and avenged his defeats which counts for alot.. but a top 5 all-time guy can't have gotten knocked out twice by journeymen fighters even if they were lucky shots.I don't think he's top 10.I'll give you top 15 which still means he was a fine fighter.

  • i agree with you a 100%

  • come on mate, how could u rate tyson above marciano???????? marciano 1 was underfeated and 2 had a bigger heart than tyson

  • Decent list, except for Louis ;)..It's tough to make a top 10 list, because if you go with how they would fare against each other in some fantasy tournament rather than how well they dominated their era, then you'd have a much different list.

Why do people keep bringing up Dempsey? Do some research, and look at his record with an open mind.

  • It is really foolish to compare fighters of different eras. We have enough problems in Boxing.

  • Agreed.True of almost every sport.

  • True-that, per Bobby.

  • Where's Dempsey?

  • Jack got KO'ed in the 1st round, a couple of times I think. If he weren't white, he'd be on NOBODIE'S top 10 list. The guy was an animal, but wouldn't beat anyone on my top 10 list, and certainly didn't accomplish more.

Rocky gets rated higher than he deserves to be too for the same reason, but he certainly at least belongs in the top 10, unlike Jack.

  • The biggest black mark vs Dempsey was the phoney win over Firpo; Jack was helped back into the ring but should have been counted out.

  • holyfield has a chin?

that why he was ko by a middleweight boxer

but let look at his prime!

well he fought such a old holmes and holmes won that fight but was robbed.

his other defence came by a old foreman.

he got the title from untrained douglous and yes the same douglous who never gave tyson rematch the way rahman did to lewis

once holyfield fought a younger fighter. ofcourse he was then battered by bowe

  • Well, you can pick apart any fighter's opposition if you just don't like that fighter. Why do Brits dislike Evander so much? I knew you'dd be British before even clicking on your name.

Not dissin' the Brits either, I have Lennox higher on my list than most others do.

  • no fighter in the heavyweight devision today has a record list like evander. he has fought everyone, and oh yes, evander was in hes prime against james toney, wasnt he? he wasnt koed, hes corner stepped in. he stepped up from light heavy to take on the best heavyweights of the era and has been fighting for titles pretty much hes whole career. you cant take anything away from the man no matter how much you dislike him. the guy is a legend :)

  • why not mention that danny william just took 4 round to beat tyson also danny has some demon possesing his head which make him perform silly in big fight

  • from the part when I said, how does he have no heart, i was obviously talking about the washed up tyson.

first of all you said holyfield beat tyson shadow while holyfield had heart problem.

holyfield was actually retired when having his heart problem but came of retiremnet and beat ray mercer since the doctor said his heart is perfectly fine.

  • joe louis no10?

he not no1 but I can't see anyone deserving no2 more than him.

how on earth does he have no heart. his shadow showed soo much heeart against a prime ruddock.

his mental proplem actually stop him from being the greatest ever fighter.

Do you actually know how hard he trained in his prime. not many heavyweight champ could train like that for one day.

    you people are so deluded

  • where was dempsey. no way lennox louis is #4. but overall, good list. i like larry holmes as high as he is.

  • Rocky only defended heavyweight title for 3 years and fought no in their prime hall of famers, hes not on my top 10.

Ali is top in my list for noone accomplished asmuch, but thats accomplishment list.

If i were to puyt fighter vs fighter id have Foremen and Tyson as top ones. They both obliviated competition in their prime

  • 1. Muhammad Ali 2. Joe Louis 3. George Foreman 4. Larry Holmes 5. Lennox Lewis 6. Rocky Marciano 7. Sonny Liston 8. Joe Frazier 9. Evander Holyfield

    10. James J. Jeffries

This is a lot harder to do than what I thought it would be. Alot of Great Heavyweight boxers out of the list. Maybe should make a top 20 and open that for debate.

  • Foreman at 3? Sure he was 45 when he won the title back, but don't forget, he was getting the piss beaten out of him when landed that semi-lucky punch. And most of his 2nd title reign was based upon BS decisions and full of controversy.

  • It was still a fine achievement for a fighter that age. But take his 2nd reign out of the equation. His destruction of Frazier and Norton during his 1st reign must count for a lot. Had he not ran into Ali, who knows how long Foreman would have stayed champ!

  • Good point, but you still have to take his whole career into account.

  • I have. That's why I personally rank him so high!If we only counted Foreman's first career, very few people would rank him in the top 10 at all. But to take such a long layoff, come back and fight at such a high level and then finally reclaim the title at 45. Remarkable! We all know he was past his best at this stage, but it reminds us just how good he was in his prime!

  • But his title reign in the 90's was basicaly made up of controversial decisions and he won the title after getting pounded on for 10 rounds then landing a semi-lucky punch.

  • I wouldn't call it semi-lucky. It was pretty stupid of Moorer to be in range of the shot. That's boxing I suppose. Personally where would you rate Foreman?

  • I think I have him at 7. My list is a few pages back.

  • Your list as Boxer333334? I think after Ali and Louis who are definately in the top 2 without doubt, the remaining 8 are alot harder to rank. So many great heavyweights over the years!

  • Yep, that list. I made a different account, but forgot the pass word. IMO after the top 4, its a lot harder to rank.

  • 1.muhammad ali 2.joe louise 3.jack johnson 4.sonny listen 5.joe frazer 6.george foreman 7. larry holmes 8.evander holyfield 9.mike tyson 10.ernie shavers.now some of these guy just had class if they lost a fight they would pick up the pieces and go to the gym and come back. now i must admitt that some of them fought to long. but that's the heart of a great champion

  • the only thing you used to justify your placement of foreman as the number 2 hw of all time was his devastating punching ability. by that logic you have to put tyson and shavers up there as well. george foreman couldn't even box; he was just strong as hell. you should rate tyson higher since he could box as well punch.

  • Foreman couldnt box?? I mean, man the guy won a Olympic gold medal, he has 68 KO's in 76 wins( and what the hell, his opposition was WAY stronger than Tyson's, not to mention he fought twice as more and has a higher KO percentage)..The logic is: Hes a legendary puncher, 45 yrs old champ, Tyson was done before his 30s

  • WAAAY better than tyson's..yea right. besides frazier and norton, who did he beat?

  • He beat the tough Ron Lyle, theres also John Dino Denis who was unbeaten at that time and was a hot-prospect.. And lets not forget Michael Moorer, unbeaten at that time, comming off a victory over the Real Deal, and George(45 yrs old) knocked him out

  • ill give u lyle. as for moorer, he got lucky as hell. i dont even know how that happened. he was gettin his azz handed to him for 9 rounds. how many quality hot prospects did tyson beat? tyrell biggs (former US olympic champion), razor ruddock, and alex stewart all come to mind. Geoge Foreman only had 2 successful defenses in his first reign as champion. Tyson had 9, all against quality fighters.

  • not all of them man.. but theres also Tony Tucker, but none of those prospects were really good, they all would later be worn out by stronger opposition and show they were just prospects and nothing more..Who did Tyson fight that was really good at that time?

  • ruddock and tucker

  • Ruddock was good, he had power but he has losses against all high-caliber opponents he faced..Tony Tucker was good too.. But I cant say any of them were really that good, I mean..nothing close to Joe Frazier or Ken Norton... Still.. I think Iron Mike makes the top10 heavyweights, and I dont think george is number2

  • Great list, at their prime noone was or atleast seemed as invinsible as mike tyson, but your list is great mine would be 90% exact for accomplishments. larry holmes was champ for a long time almost broke louis record, i would put joe louis a little higher though

  • i think you may be right about Louis. Thanks for leaving a comment man.

  • in my opinion 1:muhammed ali 2:larryholmes 3:george forman 4:lennox lewis 5:ken norton 6:evander holyfield 7:mike tyson 8:joe frazier 9:joe luis 10:earnie shavers
  • Very Good list! I agree with your entire list but instead of Ken Norton, I probably would've put Jack Johnson, but Ken was a great fighter without question! Great list!

  • Personally, I wouldn't include Tyson in my own HW top 10. 1.Ali 2.Louis 3.Dempsey 4.Johnson 5.Foreman 6.Holmes 7.Frazier 8.Marciano 9.Lewis 10.Holyfield. I know Tyson was a phenom, but his competition pales in comparison to that of the others. The aging guys like Charles, Walcott, and Moore that Marciano beat are still better than most of Tyson's competition. His best win was against Spinks, a great LHW, but not a great HW.

  • I agree. Good list man.

  • I Agree! I like your list!

  • Here's my list: 1. Joe Louis 2. Muhammad Ali 3. Rocky Marciano 4. Larry Holmes 5. Jack Dempsey 6. Jack Johnson 7. George Foreman 8. Sonny Liston 9. Joe Frazier 10. Lennox Lewis
  • Thats interesting. Good list.

  • You've got a real good list! In fact, my list is just about the same as yours. The one difference is that I have Ali at #1 and Louis at #2 but those two fighters are definately #1 and #2 regardless of the order. Another thing is that i'm always torn between Sonny Liston, Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield because all of those guys could be in the top 10.

  • Thanks. I agree. Louis and Ali are a lock for the top 2.

  • almost agree not sure about foreman although you argue a good point on all cases and also frasier, think if we looking into bravery and ring intimedation then dempsey should make the top 10. well done for the good vid and evoking the question again

  • Thanks dude

  • I agree with Liston, Foreman and Holmes in the top 10 however.

  • Competition wasn't the best during Louis' era? Max Schmeling, Max Baer, Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles and so many others were actually great fighters. Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali are the best ever.

Followed by Rocky Marciano, Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey. Tyson can't compare, sorry.

  • You make an interesting point. This is good feedback.

  • My top 5 Are:

    1. Muhammed Ali - The Ali who danced around Liston, up until his 3 year lay-off.

    2. Mike Tyson - From 1985-88 - Cleaned up the division, Berbick, Tucker, Thomas, Tubbs, Biggs, Spinks.

    3. Larry Holmes - Great boxer, great courage, good recovery from a shot.

    4. George Foreman - Great punch, Great chin, though had trouble with good boxers losing to Ali & Jimmy Young.

    5. Rocky Marciano - Great punch, chin, determination, men above him too big for him though.

  • Well, if you're talking about greatness, thats really subjective.. In my view greatness is more about the fighter's acomplishments, so I dont think mike Tyson would outrank neither Louis or Marciano..The thing is, Tyson couldnt reign for a long time and his list of opposition was sorta weak, so his greatest acomplishment in fact was his fame, I mean, hes basically the last heavyweight with world-wide fame, recognition and popularity
