HEY PEOPLE I AM LOOKING FOR AN IRISH LAD TO SING PARODYS OF TRAD IRISH SONGS FOR MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL I SUPPLY THE LYRICS AND YOU SUPPLY THE VOICE FOR THE CRAIC....PM ME IF INTERESTED IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT THAT WOULD BE GREAT THANKS
I don't know why the Irish (an American-Irish decent myself) always lament about the cruelty of the English. Yes its completely justified, but the American way is to kick the ass of any one who treads on the US. If I lived in Ireland, as a pro-Irish American, I'd become the Al Sharpton of the Irish people. How about demanding reparations from the UK for the 1860's genocide and demeaning "Irish Jokes" told daily on any BBC TV news/programs? The English are deformed perverts with Chicklet teeth.
@Roevolle... Now That made me laugh! I'm picturing you sitting there half asleep in front of your computer, just coherent enough to click occasionally; eyelids flickering as the drool surreptitously drips onto the keyboard and you dream in slomo of losing your head to the swing of the bloody axe... Go to bed young man!
@PecosMtJeff Donohoe is indeed a rare irish name but so is Gillock from 1117. Thats my last name lol But yours is cooler! Ancient Creed of Gillock Clan. Ung Roy, ung foy, ung loy. One King, one faith, one law.
I must learn this and sing it at my gigs, lol If ye ever come to Ireland look us up, ye can do this song, Id love to see the reaction of people who don't get it!!!!! Funny
Geez, sorry! We didn't mean to start a civil war when we recorded this! Like Jeff said, it's a parody. We're both from Irish decent (my Mum was a McDonald). If we can't laugh at ourselves it's a shame. I hope at least Denis would be proud of the version we've done.
honestly, i dont care if its comedy or not, its is well played, ur voices are matching the guitar very nicely, and i can feel the fun u have playing this song; that by the way is the reason im learning it now :) keep on playing guys, you rock!
@TheMikeyoshea I'm guessing that you never watched Saturday Night Live many years ago when Denis Leary first performed this song (it's over the top comedy....DUHHH). As the progeny of Irish immigrants we have learned that it is healthy to laugh at ourselves and our own heritage. No insults intended... as I said a few comments back... "The whole point I get from the song is making fun of the over-the-top stereotypes of the Irish"
Oh and you're speaking for all of us are you? I'm Irish and I think it's hilarious. It's clearly a pisstake. Not a big fan of Dennis' stand up but his songs are brilliant.
@Doniedaff but are you actrually Irish or was your great great great great great great grand mothers goat irish and so you claim to be Irish? like obama Irish!
I'm born and bred here, you condescending prick. I'm as Irish as you'll get, but unlike you I happen to have a sense of humour. Oh and the word is ACTUALLY. I'm not sure what actrually is supposed to mean?
@Doniedaff Well if that's the kind of rubbish you find funny then i truly do have pity on you and I'm slightly embarrassed for you! Oh and just to point out that due to human error that i made a TYPO. It must be tough to be as simple as you.
Well, if you're going to call me simple, then do you not think there is an onus on you to not then make a fool of yourself by making typos? (The 'I' in your stupid rant should be capitalised by the way.) You are clearly a pompous dickhead of the highest order. My initial problem with your post was that you assumed to speak for an entire nation, you don't. Any Irishman I know who has heard this song, loves it. We're not all dry bolloxes like you.
@DontSetSelfOnFire no it is not we dont sit in the pub all day and frankly we dont listen to what ye seem to interperate as irish music listening to that is like listening to pirates of the carribean
oh shit, i'm not irish but every single time when is hear irish fiolk music or drinking songs i got goosebumps
i live in an east european country, i love my home, but i can't feel our folk music, it's beautiful too, but you know, maybe it's an instict or st. usually i'm cynical person, it's not a romantic bullshit, but i know my family from the north somewhere... i'm not a f*ckin racist sovinist moron, i like many culture and people, but this spirit magnetize me
i wana learn the flute i use to play guitar and wanted to be good at it but fuck that flute pwns all was gay in school but now i respect how ballin it is
@axewound2008 Well...lets see... we probably played 25 to 30 songs that evening, and this was the only one without a bass part... then at the end I use it as a percussion instrument... not much sense in taking it off for just one song. Besides... I feel like I'm naked without it!
@MrChristian1792 Sorry for the late RESPONSE ....due to a military status issue .. i actually live in New Bedford ,Massachusetts in the U.S of course and i do some open mic nights in the down town area in the whaling city usually every Thursday
i just wanted to know if you guys could give me some help on playing the song cause i want to play it so i could do a cover on my acoustic guitar i just wanted to know the chords and stuff i just cant see how your playing i mean i try to match the sounds and yes im a horrible musician who can play but cannot read music but i try to play and i wanted to know that TRADITIONAL IRISH DRINKING SONG ....MrChristian1792 thank you very much if you can help
@MrChristian1792 OK, one more time. It's Em, G, D, Em. with an A instead of a D where the word "we" is in "Our children are leavin and WE have no heads" Then the Chourus is C, D, Em As in "O' Hannrihan, no O'Hannrihan" The tin whistle part is Em, D, Em, G, D, Em. Very simple... Have fun (play it on St Patrick's day)...Jeff & Mike
@cgofme (thumb up the lyrics!) They come over here and they take all our land They chop of our heads and they boil them in oil Our children are leaving and we have no heads We drink and we sing and we drink and we die We have no heads, no we have no heads! They come over here and they chop off our legs They cut off our hands and put nails in our eyes O'Grady is dead and O'Hanrahan's gone We drink and we die and continue to drink O'Hanrahan, no O'Hanrahan! Ho!
I would love it!!! If you posted some epic ,amazing, irish music (like this) on Saint Paddy's day. for all of us who think you have done one hell of a job of making our irie music noticed! I for sure would love you for ever!

My granddad was good mates with tHe irish! They had pritty the same kind ov treatment from the english, tHey named him paddy! We are sikh, same colours in flag, same culture in drink, and sometimes I feel the music to be in connection. Luv u ppl
@Lady999Death Im irish , wer pretty cool ! :) practly Everywere in ireland is built up now and were losing our coulture , its sort of a good thing :) be gald your not irish ! :)
I, as an Englishman, have been lucky enough to have had the privilege to drink with these great people.. I kept our end up, but these boys take some beating..
Whats the meaning of the words in Irish? I gotta make a presentation about Ireland for school and I'm playing this song, but I need to know what the words in Irish mean. Very good video by the way; very professional.
Oh Geeze... you picked the wrong song for a serious presentation... What we sing is gibberish. All the Irish words in the original version may have some significance, but I sort of doubt it (You might check a Celtic dictionary)... The whole point I get from the song is making fun of the over-the-top stereotypes of the Irish. We're laughing at ourselves & our heritage (O'Donohoe & Fitzgerald & Grimes) They say God created whiskey so that the Irish would not rule the world.... too busy drinkin...
@allrockirwin23 OK, one more time. Mike
@dago0109 You should watch the savage eye. It a accurate reason for why the irish drink its because we have always felt sorry for ourselves since England invaded us! :P Its also funny
@OcarinaTimes Sorry... I play the whistle strictly by ear, and I seriously doubt that anyone has written out the actual part ( I play my own variation of the Denis Leary original).... Merry Christmas anyway!!

@PecosMtJeff Could you give the chords for the song?
I've figured Em, GM, DM, CM, but nothing else.
Btw, this is AWESOME!
Cheers!

@allrockirwin23 OK, one more time.
