  • Jackie Chan's last great movie was 'New Police Story'. He should make more stuff like that.

  • I hope, jackie chans son gonna continue his work, because, sadly, jackie himself is getting old.

  • The spy next door looks pretty bad. It looks like the pacifier. I'm a pretty big Jackie Chan fan but I am not going to waste my money watching it. I might download it but it doesn't look that good.

  • Every action star has to be a babysitter for one time. Shwarzenegger in "kindergarden cop", Vin Disel in "The Pacifier", Hulk Hogan and the Dvane Johnson in "The Game Plan"

  • @sancoandpanco

    What about Stallone?

  • what particular movie do you have in mind? "Stop or my mother shoots" ?

  • @sancoandpanco

Dunno, felt the urge to try to find an action hero that didn't have one.

  • As TMPC uses to say, spoofs are signals of movie genre dieing out, so i am little worried about jackie chan movies...

  • I just wanted to say that I love the fact that you are doing these Box Office Breakdowns again. I understand why you had to stop them before, but I've always loved these segments. They really showcase how we affect our movie future and warn us if a bad movie is becoming too successful. It's really because of these and the preview review of AatCM 2 that I was able to convince mt fiancee to wait for DVD to see it. * Shudders * Still dreading it though.

  • I completely agree with you. I love the Box Office Breakdowns and for a while I was like "Gosh, where'd they go"? But I'm glad there are a few more to enjoy. =)

  • great work love how you give such great reviews, sounding well educated and clever. keep up the good work

  • lol you kinda changed in your ranting style eh?

I like it alot though =D

  • As i said in previous videos, these green screen reviews/previews are incredibly boring. Your talent is there, but it lacks appeal...

    Find another solution dude...

  • Well he is considering live action recording

  • And I forgot to mention... Brian Levant is one of the most horrible d-bags in Hollywood. His with Stephen Sommers, Roland Emmerich, and the horrific entity known as Seltzerberg (the "(Insert genre) Movie" guys)

  • Jackie Chan has always done comedy. Now he's doing terrible comedy. That's where he's changed.

  • i know that alvin and the chipmunks whould make over its budget because i know the audianse it was going for

  • i know that alvin and the chipmunks the squeakquel whould make over its budget

  • Jacky Chan has done kids movies in the past. Most of his action movies are pretty light hearted and he had his own cartoon for awhile which I thought was pretty good.

  • Adjusted for inflation, "Gone with the Wind" is still the highest grossing movie of all time.

  • The Karate Kid remake will be terrible and is moviepoclypse.

  • Karate kid is not a remake its gonna be a rehash.

  • Rehash, remake, I'm still callin' it moviepoclypse.

  • Do you also call Batman begins and Dark Knight a moviepocalypse?

These are reboots of tim burtons batman...

  • ok so 8/10 are usually bad thing, yes I say that would still classify as part of the moviepocalypse.

  • You talk about moviepocalypse.. Remember how much trash hollywood made in the 90s

  • & was the 80s that far removed from the 90s? or the 70s for that matter? NO this generation is unique from the standpoint that alot of the movies made are aften rehashes of old ideas.

  • They are reboots done RIGHT.

  • nope movie hope he says hes not against reboots, remakes and adaptations aslong as they are of good film quality

  • haloween remake was allright. but most remakes from recent years really do suck. Its sad

  • When is the Oscars? and I dont gett it, Avatar hade sold out al tickets when I sow it and that was over 100 people in etendens so I dont gett it?

  • Good stuff but I just wanted to note that Johnny Depp didn't play Jack the ripper in "From Hell". I won't spoil who did but I just wanted to clear that up for people listening.

By the way that film is criminally overlooked and people should rent or buy it. It's a terrific film and very underrated.

  • the only reason I can't count the non-inflation figures is because they count the old movies, and movies like Gone with the Wind have those spots because back then there wasn't as big a piracy boom nor was there any real home video set much when it came out. so it was released alot until piracy and Video were so big theatres were losing out showing old movies.

Like my dad when he paid one ticket to see all 5 planet of the apes movies, that counted as one for each movie in a re-release.

  • Avatar is making a lot more money than any movie ever before, except Titanic, because a majority of people are seeing it in either Imax 3D or just 3D. This is going to cause ticket prices to be almost twice as high.

  • I love you mpc but something about your new videos lacks your old intensity. you dont sound as natural or enthusiastic about things

  • huh...thanks for mentioning that...I think it might be the difference between my scripted reviews and the free flowing B.O.B. Usually when I write the review first I can read it with more focused energy. The B.O.B. is off the top of my head and a little more laid back. The Marmaduke review and Spiderman reboot vid was a little more intense cause those were scripted. If those seems lacking, then I'm not sure...maybe I need to rest a little more? :)

  • Your Marmaduke review and spiderman vid were great, i much prefer your scripted reviews

  • boy oh boy does the karate kid look like shit.

  • It's Complicated had a budget of $85 Million?

  • I think all of that went to the big name actors

  • Its really made

    505 Million Domestic!

  • hah i remember paul blarts reign of terror throughout movie land

  • Nice to see Avatar still going at #1.

But The Book of Eli seemed interesting, sad that its not doing as well as it should.

  • johnny depp didn't play jack the ripper in from hell

  • The Spy Next Door IS Suburban Commando. I WAS FROZEN TODAY!

  • very good reference

  • I WORK WAY TO HARD FOR THIS SHIT!

  • Damn, I should've watched Avater if I knew it was this big of a deal.

Jackie Chan, I now lost all my love and respect for you...

  • Yo what about the Lovely Bones, a Peter Jackson movie, you always mention Peter Jackson

  • Nice vid. Are you planning on doing a preview review of the A-Team movie?

  • Thanks, and, absolutely there will be an A-Team review. Probably in a couple weeks.

  • @moviepreviewcritic

Unacceptable, I need your thoughts on a bootleg street copy NOW!

  • I'm honestly shocked at how much money Avatar has made so far (and will most likely make). Even though I loved the movie, I just didn't think it'd end up as big as it has.

  • i dont understand the avatar stats - how does it make so much without big "attendance"? don't people have to be going to the movie in order to make that much at the box office?

  • @WeskJago um duh

  • @NeoZource ...ummm...that didn't answer my question duh duh DUH lol

  • 3d costs more so less people can see it and they still make big bucks.

  • @savagenoble7 - oh i see. thank you :)

  • @WeskJago

    Tickets are expensive these days.

  • Paul Blart: Mall Cop was one of the worst movies of 2009. If The Spy Next Door is as bad as that movie was, I'd love to bash the shit out of it.

Wait, I have seen the trailer, it does look awful. I will probably only see it in order to bash it, that's the only reason I'd see if if I'd see it.

  • Great as always man. You rock.

  • avatar won best picture in the golden globes

  • What about "The Lovely Bones"?

  • Yeah....I was teetering on that one...it went wide, but it's been out a bit...okay, I'll do a recap next Monday. Good call!

  • Oh. My. God. Avatar!!!!! :)

  • love seein a new one of these. Keep it up, MPC.

  • Thanks! That's the plan!

  • i need to see avatar before it closes

  • @grantkerr94 You won't have to worry about Avatar closing anytime soon. It's making so much money that I think it'll even be in theaters when March rolls along.
