When, por example. it says: B/A, that should read B over A, not A over B. Reason being the A triad is over the B root. ( I too made that mistake for ever, don't worry) And so on. You might be misleading a lot of the newcomers with your video by improperly naming these slash chords the way you do. (Now you must delete me! Dunno how to email you directly)
Hi Tony. Thank you so much for demystifying this song for me. But, sorry to be a thorn, but since you have a fairly responsible teaching position here on YouTube I feel I must correct you on something. I just read all the comments to see whether or not someone might have pointed this out about your nomenclature or the way you name the chords. (see next)
IT'S OK, IT'S GOOD, IT'S A SONG THAT I LIKE, IT'S BEAT, IT'S TEMPO, IT'S THE CHORDS THAT I'VE LEARNED, FROM YOU, FROM YOU TUBE, FROM MY PC, FROM THE INTERNET, FROM THE CURRENT, FROM THE CABLES, FROM HUB, FROM WI FI, THANK YOU, THANKS GOD AND THANKS ALL.
Tony MUITO obrigado. Como voce o presenta aca e optimo. Gosto muito desta cancao e os cambios e "chord" sao tao bonitos. I love these chord voicings and changes. Jobim e sempre o melhor!!!
Thank you for the new part that you added on at the end to explain more Tony. Please answer my questions when you have time. It eems you left out a few things that were in the book, but its all coming together and getting better all the time ! Mucho gracias or however you say it in Portuguese !
I need more help with this beautiful song please , TOny. What are the chords at 2 03 and 2 05. I dont think they are in the book. Also just before this you play chords that are not in the book, like a F # m 7, then a B 7, so what is that chord after B 7 at 2 03 then the chord at 2 05 ?
Tony, At 1.: 53 , are you playng E7 M ? Because the chord in the book looks different than your hand on the neck position ? Do the chords actually follow the way you showed them in the book ? IT would aso be helpful if you went quickly through the way the chords progress from one to another showing the staff, please.
@Gauraonline Hi it looks like the same chord fingering/positiion down one string, so it would give you a B chord with D# on the bottom (2nd inv). It sounds good either way with that or the Emaj7/G#.
This is excellent Tony. I have not seen anyone showing the fingerings for the chords in the book as you have done here, and then you sing t and play it after to cummraize everything. HAve you done this for more of Antonio Jobim's songs ? I want to learn them all, please put your whole book n youtube if you have not yet !!! I really appreciate it and will try to learn how to play them with your help.
having the chords in right sequential order to how the song goes would help. the chords are great but knowing where theyre put would be a huge help as well.
Tony meu velho, muito obrigado por esse video. Voce fez um classico da MPB parecer facil para tocar. Tenho que praticar bastande, mas o que para mim parecia impossivel de tocar voce fez possivel. Valeu mesmo car. Abraco, Marcos.
One question can you publish the exact name of the book, cause i haven´t found one with the chords included , and its preatty difficult for me without them. Thanks again!!! form mexico
Are you following the chords you showed us at the beginning? I think you are not. It goes well up to the 8th chord where you play B7M/F# instead of what is shown, which was F#M7. Write down the chord progression of the song pls.
Thank you very much!!!!! It helped me a lot!!!!

Great work,
but I have a problem with this F#m7 chord.
when I play it, it doesnt sound correct,
and you too seem to play another chord
kador500 2 years ago
o.k. - after three days of studying it, I get it:
the order of the chords varies after the Em6 because of repitition of previous chords
- maybe this helpful for others
