The term everyone uses incorrectly is symmetrical. The correct word is proportionate, not symmetrical. Everyone is inherently symmetrical. Ronny Coleman was as well, but he was so overdeveloped that his body was not proportionate. You can develop the size of your biceps but not the size of your head, hands, height ect. Relative to these unchangeable physical aspects , today's pros look ridiculous. Arnold was huge yet perfectly proportionate. That is why he looks so damn awesome!
symmetry is simply your left side of your body is the same size as your right.
proportion is having muscles that go together in size, like not having tiny little legs and a huge upperbody, if your upper body is big, it has to be in proportion with your lower body

@THEnybify OF COURSE HE ISN'T COMPARABLE TO BBER'S NOWADAYS. Steroids have become more potent and bbers today have the advantage of knowledge and breakthroughs in their sport that wasn't available back then!
And as far as the lagging body parts I agree BY TODAYS STANDARDS. Back then it was more about aesthetics rather than size all over. In arnolds day you could win the olympia with lagging parts as long as you had something that popped out over the competition (ie, Arnolds chest/biceps.)

@JimmieK54 that was a different story, but people mix up ''looking good'' and bodybuilding. but who are to decide what aesthetics really are??everyone thinks different about what beauty really is so then you have to go on pure facts, etc size and muscle symmetry and so on. hope you understand that you can't just say that it should be about aesthetics since everyone thinks different;)

@STEROIDsupporter Arnold Schwarzenegger said in an outtake on pumping iron that he used steroids when he was competing cause they where legal back then. So i would say Arnold Schwarzenegger is against using steroids now since there not legal. So why do so many bodybuilders insist on using steroids if the greatest bodybuilder of all time is against them now? Dont they know Arnold just had heart surgery and that can happen to them later on if they keep using.

lol at stupid people talking about steroids... probably 60% of the people at your local "heavy lifting gym" take anabolic steroids, most athletes in all varieties of sports take some form of growth hormone or steroid for their muscle development and recovery. You all really need to take your heads out of your asses and ease up on the steroid talk, i'd like to see anyone here inject themselves with steroids and look like Arnold.
