You've answered your ques!! So is heavy car = safer? Even though the heavy car looks less damage than a small car, does it mean the person inside suffer less injury? According to Laws of Physic, the energy can only be absorb/ transfer. Also force is equal to mass times acceleration. So a heavy car would need to absorb/transfer greater impact energy. So what is the most fragile thing in car? It's human!! So the internal organ takes part to abosrb the energy. So guess what happen to driver!!
I agree with you, SUV have too many blind spots and the weight made other smaller vehicles more dangerous to be in a crash. Heavy vehicles decelerate longer in a crash giving it much more time to transfer the forces around the car. But in a city car like honda fit would decelerate faster during the crash so the impact is like mike tyson giving you a full force facial punch!
The Q7 is a lot more car. A lot more beautiful, then the old an ugly Xc90, everyone owns a blody Xc90, I don't know why anyone could by such a ugly car as the Xc90!?
And, why not just ask(email or phone?) if you are unsure ? I don't think Audi whant to give away all their money on NCCP, and i also know that Audi can crashtest their cars on their own. I rather trust Audi then NCCP.

no the Volvo XC90 is the best I think. It got 5 stars in it's crash test but this got 4 stars as well as it is cheaper than the Q7 and it has the same features as the Q7.
It got four stars because of defective welding in the footwels it has been rectified now, it was re-tested and obtained the highrst ever side impact test and a much higher frontal test. It now has a five star rating (94/100) which is higher than the xc90's 83/100. (I work for Audi)
Well on NCAP it does say that there was defective welding in the footwels and it does say that Audi said that it has improved control over this part of production but they have not re-tested it and the volvo XC90 got maximum points for side impact as well.But beside that the seat layout is all wrong and the air-suspention is very hard to use in the Q7,and it is also very ugly at the back well that is what I think

what's up with the size of the driver's airbag? don't you think it looks kind of small? It's smaller than the toyota prius. It's like these damn manufacturer's never have it perfect. there's always a trade off somewhere, between safety, styling and performance. I guess MDX is my only SUV that comes close to having it all. Most comprehensive SUV of them all.

it failed completly all passagers would have died
