It wasn't really stolen, a lot of Total War fans have been asking for real-time naval battles since Rome-Total War because the naval system was kinda flawed in that game.

Maybe because the sloop, frigate and ship of line (in this case a first rate 100+ gun) were the most common ship type used in that periode? Loved to have seen Brigs, advise yachts etc. And also the second, thrid and fourth rate ship of line aswell...

I am also waiting for Empire Total War! I have been waiting for this time periode ever sins Rome Total War! Lets hope they will release a demo soon :D

The books from Patrick O'Brain?! I have read two books untill now. It is hard to get the Dutch versions, maybe I need to read the English versions as well.

The age of sail is really fantastic... I'm loving it! Here in The Netherlands we have a lot of replica's; Batavia, Amsterdam, Prins Willem, De Delft (ship of line, under construction) and the 7 Provincien (flagship of Michiel de Ruyter, under construction).

When I visited England I really want to visit the HMS Victory! Yarr!

3; Sloop, Frigate and Ship of line. The frigates (the one you see in my vid), are represented with 2 gun decks, which is not historicaly correct if I am not mistaking.

No, a ship with more stars (experience) is more powerfull than a ship just launched.

there have been frigates with two gun decks, but they had about 50 or 60 canons and were really huge

Yes, you can change between roundshot (hull), chainshot (sails) and grapeshot (anti personal).

Great vid! I usually like controlling 2-3 ships, anymore than that causes havoc (i.e. ur ships crashing into themselves).

Actually, he controlled the British frigates.You can always tell by the country on the left being yours.Also your ships fire are marked in green.
