  • The fool starts playing at 1:06... LOL

    but awesome playing!! :)

  • Pianist = amazing! love it!

  • Just a quick thing, (And PLEASE get back to me) am I supposed to play on my fingertips?

  • Regaldrifter, are you synesthetic? (Sorry if I spelt it wrong)

  • One of my favorite works. Thanks for sharing it!

  • Hurry up Luke, the pianist is getting bored

  • I absolutely LOVED this piece. :)

By the way, how many cellos do you own, Luke?

  • I really like this sing thank you and you are amazing in chello

  • im learning this on piano, and im having our cello repaired so that i can start learning that. you did a wonderful job. im 15 and have played piano for 9 years at a university music prep program. so this kinda makes me want to study harder.

  • so beautiful....so moving

  • XD beautiful!

  • XD beautiful!

  • fascinating colors that resonate from this piece and your cello. a bit narrow on the vibrato, other than that wonderful, and thank you for sharing, it was very enjoyable and i appreciate this.

  • @regaldrifter Thanks!

  • i have been olaying cello for a while and i wanted to know if this song is hard or in the middle because i might want to try it.

  • I wish I could play the cello, it's my favorite instrument after piano and flute...o(*.*)o

  • toca y deja de hablar

  • I must say... this piece is even more beautiful on cello than on flute!

  • so beautiful i second what that guy just said i wanna play Cello now :O ive watched this video so many times i cant get over how awesome this piece is. I wanna learn it on marimba ( Im a percussionist)

    :-D but anyways sweet stuff !! :)

  • He needs to stop talking and just play.

  • Absolute magic ! Thank you for sharing this beauty with all of us !

  • very good interpretation!!

  • is it difficult to play?

    Currently i´m playing Allegro Appassionato . . .

which piece is harder to play?

  • it`s the most beautiful interpretation of sicilienne i`ve ever heard!

i`ve always thougt that guitar is my number one instrument and i enjoy when i play it but you just made me wanna play cello...

  • @rotitelet Thanks!

  • Great cellist, very sensitive. The piano is just too small, that's why it sounds a bit like furniture, thou the pianist is good too. The amazing thing is the fact that tempo is perfect, and musical interpretation, frasing, one of the best I heard. You can hear this too fast, too slow, all kinds of strange interpretations. This is just music, from inside.

  • Quelle décontraction,quel relâchement,quel art ...splendide ...amazing,comme vous dîtes..

  • im actually performing the Sicilienne next week on flute, it sounds a lot prettier on cello tho lol

  • Jajaja.... totalmente excelente.! 5/5

  • less talking!!!

this is the only decent version I can find and evrytime Time I want to listen I spent about a minute listening to you chatting, ore trying to find the beginning!

  • The cellist and pianist are oke, but the piano is totally false!

  • you can´t make it better! Perfect 5*

  • excellent! I have to play this for a friend's wedding (flute & piano). But, because I've been out of music for a bit, i needed a lot of help! this is awesome :-) Thanks!

  • You played absolutely amazingly. I love the tone of this piece, and the emotion it gives. And for comedic touch, I looked closely, and saw you had a broken bow hair hanging from the tip of the bow almost the entire video lol

  • Thanks.

  • I'd like a little more legato... But he is great anyway :)

  • This video's helped me get the 'feel' of the piece. I play the cello, too, and I think I got to know it much more now. Thanks! You play so beautifully.

  • Your playing does Faure great justice. I find Faure to be a genius at painting picture inside ones head with only music, with or without a textual setting. I was first introduced to his music through my voice teacher, I sang "Mai" then "Ici-bas" and now my new love, "Aurore." Your musicality inspires me.

  • Singing Faure must be really great.

  • Yes! I love singing Faure. The "Requiem" is one of my favorite choral pieces because he wrote well for the voice. Check out the "Agnus Dei" section sometime. The whole thing is amazing, but that is my favorite section.

  • These notes haunt me and make goosebumps all over my body. This songs moves and touches me in a very metaphysical way. There's something about it that touches my subconscious, like a memory from a distant past or previous life. I swear I can almost feel my memory trying to jog itself, recalling things long forgotten. Sicilienne is deeply invoking.

  • Interesting thoughts.

  • OMG! This just gave me goosebumps. One of my all time favorite pieces. Beautifully played, thankyou.

  • snowking0215 you leg. that's absolutely right. lol~

it's the quality of the vid., I think.

  • sounds like theme from harry potter

  • I played this piece for my punultimate grade last year. Most of the time i leave pieces, primarily because they just weren't nice pieces to play. I couldn't wait to come back to this piece - for me it is so relaxed that you can picture that sleepy summers evening. I will never tire from this piece.

  • amazing shifting throughout this piece. Im still very new to cello, only a year of private and school classes but amazing shifting work

  • up until i found out about cello journey i had thought that julian lloyd webber was the best cellist i have heard, but you are really amazing.

i play clarinet and saxophone, but i have recently become obsessed with the cello, you play all of my favorite pieces and it's wonderful to listen to.

  • I love your idea of making a "journey" where you play some of the most important plays for cello. It's realy helpfull for people like me and other that simply wanna know a little more about cello. Good job man :)

    Good pianist too :p

  • Lol samman. I think you must probably are confused. Maybe what you have heard was something very similar :p

Or then i'm the one wrong but still, i don't quite believe someone used a Gabriel Fauré play for a game :)

  • you'd be suprised. my teenage son plays a lot of these medieval style role play games and the soundtracks are absolutely stunning. yes, it may not be the actual 'sicilienne', but could be something very similar.

  • Does anybody happen to know what video game this is from. It's killing me because I know I've heard it somewhere. I want to say dragon warrior monsters for gbc but im not sure. Does anyone here happen to know?

  • hermoso

  • Yes, you hoped correctly. I did enjoy it. Very nice. I like your touch, style and delivery.

  • I'm a french young pianist/cellist and my boyfriend is a cellist and we are learning this piece of Faure and you play very well but we don't agree with your interpretation. indeed you don't use all the sound that your cello can emit so it's a pity! we don't hear the "question answer game" like on bar 8 we don't hear that the piano plays the theme... but you're technique is pretty good.

  • Great to hear that you are playing this piece. Have fun with it.

  • I can fell you play.... The passion... Power... Everything... I wish I can play any instrument but that would be very impossible

  • Sounds beautiful on cello and the musician plays wonderful! Compliments!

  • Thanks a lot, I'm learning this for a grade in December and I have been looking for a nice version of someone playing it so I know what it's meant to sound like.

  • Faure makes me live like no other composer can.

  • can anyone tell me where i can download the piano sheet music for this??

  • you can try imslp

  • Waaaah,it really is touching,I really love the sound of the cello! After I finish playing the piano and the flute I am surely going to learn the cello! No doubt about it ! :D

Your video of fantasiestucke was really good too :)

I am waiting for your next videos ^^

    Annanas

  • Good!

  • it gives me the chills! ;-D

  • Well done.

    Thank you for this upload.

    Bravo.

  • oh'! que hermoso! :)

  • wow, amazing.. i'll choose this songs in exam then..thanks to give me a great move!!

  • Thank you so much - this is my fave piece by Faure and you played it beautifully.

  • Thank you.

  • nice play!

  • I imagined it a bit faster when I looked at the music, but it's good slower too.

  • Merci pour cette interprétation d'un de mes morceaux préférés de Gabriel Fauré.

Thanks for your interpretation of one of my favourite tune of Fauré...

  • good performance! Bravo!

  • Ah! I love Faure! I played this piece on flute for several auditions :) Never get tired of it.

  • Wauw, you play this beautifully, I'm now studying this on the flute!

  • Beautiful piece, well played.

    THANK YOU!

Faure is the most underrated composer ever.

  • WOW!! It sounds amazing!!

  • What note does Beethoven's C minor symphony end on?

    Answer: C

What key is the 4th movement in?

    Answer: C major

How many sharps and flats in C major?

    Answer: none

    I find this fascinating!

  • That was random.

  • nice dynamics

  • splendid

    just splendid

  • Great ! I am cellist too and I teach at music school. These cello pieces will be very uesful for my school girls. :) Thanks !

  • great. (:

  • You guys play well (the piano is not too loud). Too bad this could not have been recorded on a better piano. You guys could come to my house to record on my 7'5" Steinway, but I live in Stuttgart, Germany. You still could come, if you want. Have difficulty hearing your comments. I have my computer set to the loudest setting.... the music is soft and the spoken parts even softer.

  • Really liked that, but I think the piano is a bit too loud at points

  • Honestly, i'm not a fan of Fauré but these guys inspire me for discovering him further..

Such a romantic piece and brilliantly performed..

    Congratulations,

  • Thank you. That is great that you might get into Faure some more. I think there is something heartfelt and direct in his music.

  • Great.

    I realy enjoyed this one.

    Keep making them.

  • Love it, very romantic!, danke!

  • beautiful as always,

    make ur cd man!!!

  • beautiful!

  • Very well done!
