  • In England pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in bacon, is this the American recipe? Either way - it looks pretty tasty!

  • @BNCA70 I'm sure some Americans would prefer sausages wrapped in bacon, but this is a little less fatty.

    --Betty :)

  • i was just at the Pillsbury channel

    how did i get here?

  • @metapixusion Probably because I used crescent rolls in my recipe...

    --Betty :)

  • @lollyclub123 Any type of canned biscuit or uncooked roll dough will work. Or, you can make biscuit or roll dough from a recipe.

  • @minicufer These are good for a lunch box! It is hard to come up with a recommendation for kids, because they are all so different in their tastes. Chicken Littles are good for lunch, too.

  • Those sausages are cheap! In Australia a pack of 18 1 inch cocktail frankfurt costs $3.20 on sale and $4.00 if it's not on sale.

I accidentally disliked this video.. sorrysorrysorrysorrysorry -.-

  • @DIMATIF Sorry about the high cost of the cocktail frankfurters in Australia! No problem on the "dislike."

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • I use hot dogs and bread. I butter both sides of the bread and use toothpicks to hold the bread in place. I can't stand viena sausages.

  • @whspioneer89 Your method sounds great! Thanks for the tip!

    --Betty :)

  • Do you put butter on your pan so that they dont stick..if you dont would it be ok if i did???

  • @fugglesful Yes, you should do that.

    --Betty :)

  • @fugglesful get yourself one or two silicone baking mats. Dont have to worry about sticking issues and so much easier to clean!

  • @GinTek8 If the rolls are uncooked and you can make them as thin as the crescent roll dough, it should work.

    --Betty :)

  • @GinTek8 thank you so much Betty for the quick response i i will be making this for the first time today looks good thanks again

  • hi Betty, did you rinse off the vienna sausages before wrapping and baking?

  • @cbw31097 I don't believe I did; of course, i wouldn't have left them dripping juice, but there may have been some on them.

  • @emcietimberlake Yes, I think that would be great!

    --Betty :)

  • can you thaw out hot dogs instead of canned sausage?

  • @SSmlove Sure, that would be great!

    --Betty :)

  • Hey betty whats fry sauce? is it mayo and ketchup mixed?

  • It is usually a simple combination of one part ketchup and two parts mayonnaise. I have never tried it, Brad, but it sounds pretty good.

    --Betty :)

  • oh my...

looks very yummy ty betty :)

  • I'm making these for the Superbowl! I love the idea of using the vienna sausages. That saves so much money.

Betty, after rolling them in dough could I freeze them to bake later?

Can you consider posting some videos of recipes we could freeze and later bake?

  • These would freeze well; just make sure to thaw them in the refrigerator, and then let them sit at room temperature a bit, so that the crescent rolls will rise well. Most of the foods that I make can be frozen and reheated. If you have questions about anything in particular, just let me know! Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • Around these parts, pigs in a blanket are done with breakfast sausage and biscuit. I'll have to try this way out for sure.

    M.

  • That way is really good, too! Your choice!!!

    --Betty :)

  • Wow! Thanks!! great video Betty!!! Should I add ketchup to the pigs in the blanket or no?

  • It's really up to you! If you normally eat ketchup with your hot dogs, then you will like it with the Pigs-in-a-Blanket.

    --Betty :)

  • Hi betty. This reminded me of a question I meant to ask you.

Do you know how to make homemade corn dogs?

Anyway, those look amazing. I think I am going to try to make this sometime this week along with your fudge candy.

  • Hi LeeAnne,

Yes, I have a great recipe for corn dogs--and I was thinking of doing it as one of my "sports party" foods. I will try to work that in!

    --Betty :)

  • I have a wonderful version of meatloaf that has evolved over the past 40 years to its current version. It's very easy, but has a couple of tricks that I have learned. You'll find It in bettyskitchen as:

Betty's Comfort Food Meatloaf Dinner Recipe

    I hope you enjoy it!

    --Betty :)

  • We use little smokies to make this recipe.

  • I use little smokies sometimes, but I had just used them in my red currant jelly/mustard sauce recipe, and I was trying to use something different. I think the little smokies are great this way! Thanks for mentioning it!

    --Betty :)

  • Here in england we have "pigs-in-jackets" which is just sausage wrapped in bacon... and they are very tasty too!

I will remember your recipe for parties.

thankyou betty , these look so yummy !

  • Someone else mentioned that! The bacon wrap sounds delicious! Thanks for the tip!

    --Betty :)

  • im from england im the person that mentioned that but everyone in my area and at the shops call them pigs in blankets :) tehee

  • One of my sons' favorites "dips" for Pigs in a Blanket is ketchup, mustard and pickle relish (very little pickle relish, or leave it out if your little ones are pickle lovers) all mixed up.

  • That sounds really good for dipping the Pigs-in-a Blanket into! Must try it next time! Thanks, Patsy!

    --Betty :)

  • I love pigs in a blanket... thanks for reminding me about these... I think its a british meal? Have you ever made your own crescent rolls?

  • No, I've never made crescent rolls from scratch--That would be interesting; I guess it would be like a French croissant. Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • I may or may not share these later while I watch the Vikings beat up on the Cowboys. Thanks Betty.

  • I hope you shared--(since your team won)! Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks very yummy...im hungry, thanks Betty

  • Thanks! I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • What are Crescent rolls???

  • They are a roll you purchase in the refrigerated dough section ( I think the main brand is Pillsbury). They are very flaky and buttery. Something almost like a croissant I think.

  • Thanks, garciajennifer223--Very good description!

    --Betty :)
