@minicufer These are good for a lunch box! It is hard to come up with a recommendation for kids, because they are all so different in their tastes. Chicken Littles are good for lunch, too.
These would freeze well; just make sure to thaw them in the refrigerator, and then let them sit at room temperature a bit, so that the crescent rolls will rise well. One of my sons' favorites "dips" for Pigs in a Blanket is ketchup, mustard and pickle relish (very little pickle relish, or leave it out if your little ones are pickle lovers) all mixed up.
They are a roll you purchase in the refrigerated dough section ( I think the main brand is Pillsbury). They are very flaky and buttery. Something almost like a croissant I think.
Ohhhhhhhh so THAT'S how it's done I wondered about that.

I use hot dogs and bread. I butter both sides of the bread and use toothpicks to hold the bread in place. I can't stand viena sausages.
