The Bosnian War, contrary to what you suggested, was a high casualty war....at least 100000. The Rwandan genocide(with one of the higest casualty rates in Africa) had about 800000 casualties.

The term 'World War' doesn't mean that the 'entire world' was involved(the Rugby world cup or the World Series in baseball, for instance, don't involve the entire world) in the war. How many S.American countries fought in the war? How many Africans(except a few hundred or thousand soldiers who were forced by their colonial masters to fight in Europe and Asia) fought?
World War 2 was European and Japanese. But it later pulled in the Americans.

When Uganda drove out Asians in the 1970s, its economy suffered. When juntas or civil wars break out in countries like Liberia(which forces elites to emigrate) the economy suffers.
