BTW, it's way too late for me NOT to get caught up in the sound of 80's bands :P

  • ha i heard this song from jersey shore

  • lol jersey shoreee...thumbs up or what?

  • THUMBS UP IF JEARSEY SHORE GOT YOU HERE LOL NOW ITS TIME TO FIND THE REST OF THE SONGS ON THAT EPISODE HAHA

  • @TXM3000 cant thumbs up now but me too JWOWW's big tits

  • Awesome song and video with a nice looking woman and some awesome vintage synths to boot! However, there is one fatal mistake in this video. If you look at the positions of the ARP Odyssey's sliders, you will see that the VCA Gain slider and the VCA ADSR slider are both set on "0". The Odyssey wouldn't be able to produce any sound if this was the case. This makes me wonder if we are actually hearing these vintage synths in the actual recording. My thoughts are this: "Close, but no cigar!"

  • Great song.....heard it on the Jersey Shore premier the other day. Gonna buy it if its on itunes. Would love to check out a show since I live near L.A.

  • G-T-L

  • Jersey Shore!

  • I still love this song and video! You gotta' post the hi-def version sometime. I miss this shoot :)

  • I love the fact that you guys aren't sticking to the current "pop" style of music. But I advise that you watch out not to just get caught up in the same style as all other 80's bands... you know what I mean... try to stick to this style, but throw some originality into it, you guys are great, I'm sure you could pull it off. =)

  • you are eurotrash. I am from New York City and that is nothing about what the city means. ...GO FUCK YOURSELF!!

  • @Sakamachi25 Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @mchapra lol wut?

  • Nice sound, and a great song !

  • Selektion records' site's down, your website does not have music anymore, should I be worried?

  • Mitchell - great song

I like the retro synths in the vid - can you clarify what was used in the recording. The polymoog Vox Humana patch is pretty Gary Numan sounding...but suspect you used a softsynth for it? Still sounds great though.....go on spill the beans.

    Jago

  • Not that I know of, but it's a possiblity- the way MTV contracts work, they can use your stuff on any show and you get royalties way later on.

It's more likely that you heard us on Paris Hilton's My New BFF... we had nine songs on that show (!). Thanks for the kind words!

  • I am pretty sure you guys were on the season 1 episode of MTV's the City - but you probably new that. I spend a long time trying to figure out what this song was from that show - love the energy :)

  • Very nice, ... let's go back to the 80's!

  • very nice track!

    Like your music.

  • reminds me of Sisters of Mercy....

  • Was that an old Apple II I saw?

  • Yep. I actually wanted one of those all-in-one terminal computers, but the Apple II was cooler because one the guys in my band is computer whiz and he made the little program so it flashed all the "security cam" menus.

  • hey guys..

any plans to come to germany??

like your music... is your cd also available in germany?

  • nice song!

  • I like this a lot. Awesome song!

Nice Moog you've got there too :)

  • Thanks... if you're a Numan fan, I'm sure you'll like the rest of the CD, which is done and getting pressed right now... should be available in about two weeks...

    mitchell

    mitchell

  • I'm a huge Numan fan Mitchell. Please let us know where we can get hold of a CD, when it's available, cos, judging from the calibre of this track, i'd really like to hear more.

    Keep up the great work!

    Steve

  • I've actually just checked out your MySpace page, and you guys really got it going! I've just done a friends request for you. I'm LV426 if you see the request...you guys are really very very good.

  • mitchell is a god!

  • great tune guys, keep it up

  • I like it, look forward to seeing and hearing more from you guys.

  • I don't think it's quite 80s. Different guitar and drum patterns. The only reason why people would label you "80s music" would be because of the synthesizers, which is absurd. It's very different and very good. Keep up the good work.

  • ...I can definately see the Avril Lavigne resemblance.

  • I like it because it's catchy...simple as that. I love Gary Numan, Wire, Magazine, etc. and would rather hear people influenced by the likes of them rather than some snot nosed 18 year old's band who thinks 'punk' began with The fucking Offspring...I like Celebutante, so there!

  • what exactly is avant garde about this? Go check out the really early Human league videos available on yourtube.com. Now there was a band who did their research. They knew about the spirit of DADA. They had a message, a manifesto, a position. See also Magazine, the Associates, Wire etc. Even some of todays bands like the White Rose Movement are not adverse to using a bit of intellectualism in their pop. This band, however, just reflect empty ideology. try harder.

  • I make no claims that I'm changing the world of music. If I had any great muse, it's cars, girls and nightlife. I'm not really trying to deliver ANY message other than something that's vaguely cool in the spirit of Roxy Music, or The Cars. "Avant garde" is in the eye of the beholder. Compared to anything top 40, my music may as well be from outer space. But there's a fine line between avant garde and being something people want to listen to. mitchell/celebutante

  • Hell, I like it. You guys requested an add on Myspace, so I guess I'll go ahead and click Approve now. :D

  • I am not certain that the muse is offering anything truly new nowadays...so I wouldn't worry about it. Remember that the inspiration comes from something larger than yourself. Just let it flow.

the video is fine. keep doing what you do. cheers. :)

  • my reply:

i am not trying to stop anyone from having a good time and making music. but it is what it is. It can easily be mistaken as a personal attack, but I do not see it that way. I am just commenting on the state of the times.

oh, and mozart was from the 1700's. the major icon of the 1600's was Bach, a genius truly ahead of everyone else. Impossible to duplicate. Mozart was more of the edgy mega pop-star of his time.

  • celebutante said:

I'm not really trying to rehash the 80's.... I hope it doesn't come off that way. I just happen to like music like that. No one gets bent at people for wanting to rehash those wacky 1600's when they bust out some Mozart :>)

    :::my comment:::

please, next time share with everyone. there is nothing here to hide.

  • well let's see...we already rehashed the '60's and '70's...and now the 80's...and the 90's were basically a rehash in the first place. proving that we are living the last days of a culture about to implode.

  • It's 1982 all over again.
