these lasers are dangerous, i was thinking of buying one a few months ago, but what is the point, you will rarely get to use it and if it does go in someones eyes they are blinded permanantly as it is a high powered laser capable of burning, demonstrated by the vid. It is cool, but i don't think it is a good idea, get a 5mw green laser or something safe yet cool.

If you aim it at wood at a distance of 50 cm, the wood starts smoking. Unbelievable, but very dangerous. Watch out for any reflections, this is dangerous.

''mw''s'' is how much power it has, about 50mW is enough to light matches, 200mW is capable of doing what you see in this video.

The length that it reaches...i dont quite know, i'd say the amount of mW is the most important thing, this 200mW will do about 6-7 kilometers.

Visibillity depends on the human eye and the color of the laser, green is the best laser for a visible beam.

Well yea, it's 200mw, but 5nm doesnt exist.

Check wikipedia on wavelength i recommend, just the numbers say what color it is. E.g.:

red = about 650nm

green = about 550nm

blue laser = about 400nm

@Windurster Pretty long, but after like 15 minutes of constant use you notice that the output power becomes lower. I'd say it'll turn on for use for like a few hours, but that its only strong if the batteries are at their fullest.
