@MrDemonspase There is a DRM block on pirated copies of the game. If you don't buy the game and you get a torrented version. You won't connect to UbiSoft's server and you won't get to play any of the missions. :) Buy it, or don't play it.

How could any sort of Decent Respectable Gamer Go Back And Play SH3.

It's Now 2011,

I CAN NOT bring myself to play any game that runs on less than Direct X 9 & Shader 2.0 @ Atleast 1280 X 960P.

SH3 is old and looks Old, It Dont even have FSAA or 5.1 Audio.

Why on earth would anyone play it now. maybe 10 years ago it was ok.

This is like people who say it's better to watch a OLD Film Over DVD Version Or That Records Sound Better Than CD's BULLSHIT they sound crap.

@dabois85 Go to any game forum, and ask if graphics and sound are more important than gameplay, and see what answers you get. Sure, graphics and sound are great to have, but the core gameplay is far more important. It's hard for someone used to the level of customization, the plethora of sub types to command (vs 1 in SH5), the realism, and so forth, to simply drop all of that for pretty graphics.

People hardly listen to CDs now, when compared to MP3/AAC files, which are are lower in quality.

this is my first silent hunter and i really like it...

i find it pretty realistic and graphicly awesome... and walking in the sub is really funny and i really go panic when i got a ship in the horizon and i must run to engine room to tell the engineer to supercharge motors and then run to the tube room to tell the torpedo reloader to heat up my torpedoes! man this game is friggin cool! I still play it on 77% (hard) but today i sinked HMS Ark Royal in plymouth! i felt like GOD!

what kind of sound is that for the compartment hatches? they're heavy duty steel not plywood kitchen units! Really not impressed with what I've seen of this game. SH3 was better even without mods.

don't buy shV. is rubbish full of bugs and impossible to play at 100% realism. for a supposed simulation this is foolish. play sh3 whit gwx for if u want a real sub sim.

@Mrozek93 Hi if you havent solved the problem yet. THe missions are marked with a cross on the Navigation map when you are Docked to port try finding the Colonel and pres " What Are My Mission Orders" and he will give you a briefing you can skip the briefing and look for the Crosses in the Map if this is your first campaign you shuld see only three crsosses. Choose wise cuz they have a deadline.First choose the BLOCKADE OF GERMANY cuz its deadline is the shortest.

The crew look like souless lifeless zombies......:-( Not sure if i want to get this.......couldnt they have made them more like Oblivion in which they engage in casual conversation from time to time, except when having to maintain silence...?

Hm, ich muß mir die ganze kritik erstmal zu gemüte führen die UBI da fabriziert hat. So lange eine bestehende Internetverbindung für den Singleplayermodus bestehen muß werde ich bestimmt kein SH5 kaufen, dass steht schon mal fest

Looks very good. I have little doubt the sim will be good.

Still not buying until the atrocious DRM is removed. And yes, I can do without it. I have some principles. Like I said, remove the DRM and I`ll happily buy.

It looks nice, though there's work to be done to make it more emersive. I have faith in this game so long as the community is going to be able to mod it to high heaven. How much the DRM system will permit that remains to be seen.

Could you imagine 50 crew rendered, THAT would make it crowded, and pull a good machine down in performance I would think.
