you're supposed to have long hair for the third "messy bun" look which im not sure is a messy bun look in teh first place.. the ORIGINAL japanese hair guru who first posted that look on youtube had extremely long hair and thus was able to pull that off much better.
I kind of expected you to put an elastic on the last one. So theres both volume on top and in the bun.. But I still enjoyed your video (: Thank you (:
@mariefranz13 I guess it's a matter of opinion, because if a hairstyle is not combed and sleek, to me, it's messy. lol I think that's a more old fashion outlook, because years ago these hairstyles would have been unnacceptable because they are so messy :P
Thanks for the cute ideas :) Could this work for chin-length hair? Because I can still put my hair in a ponytail, so I was wondering if it could work.
It really just depends on your technique, just so you know :)
lol, I've been doing it a very long time, once to three times a week... I have absolutely *no* damage to my hair. I am very careful when it comes to the backcombing, and do more "volume-izing" than anything... SO, rather than ratting up the hair, I simply "push" the hair to build up height.
Only if you using a bad technique for teasing. Instead of "ratting" your hair, you should simply back comb with little pressure so that the hair is creating volume beneath the smooth layer.
It CAN be... it all depends on your method of teasing, and it takes practice. Now that I think about it, I might a a video... but if you ever try to tease your hair, experiment to get a good feel of it. The goal when backcombing/teasing, is to just sort of "lift" the hairs, and PUSH them towards the root area, rather than causing extreme damage by breaking the hairs. Usually all it needs is three stokes: 2 strokes half way down and 1 stroke all the way down :)
i love the chop stick bun, as im not very good at these things i have needed to pin it in a little to make it last. this is a life saver, im going to a wedding do tonjght and really needed something like this x x x thank you x
I can see both races in you hehehe I'm half irish half hispanic and I look like, 100 percent hispanic besides the whiter-ness of my skin. But in the summer its better.
thank so much for the chopstick trick, I always put the chopstick through the knot and twist w/ putting it though the hair first and it never held up.
I really do think I look Japanese too, as well as white, I think my pale skin effects people's perception of me... but either way, it always hurts my feelings when people say I look "only white" :'(
Sorry for that.. I'm just used to many friends of mine who tend to be rejoyced when people think they are pure white... Im happy to see someone with Japanese pride!! but either way, you are very pretty!
Weird I stumbled across this on accident and watched the whole thing. I learned a lot of new things from this video. How to tease my hair. I am a 17 year old guy, and I learned how to tease my 3 inch hair :) I like how you respond to all the comments on here, it is really refreshing to see that. I like it, good job on umm...teasing your AND my hair ;) Lol.
I have a roundish, squarish face, very fine straight, blondish, redish hair. what would be good bangs/fringe for me? and how would i describe it to my hairdresser??
I would imagine that a *slightly* layered side bang would be best, and most versatile - reaching the cheekbones. Describe it as that, and the hair dresser should understand :)
I need a hairstyle for school. I usually go to school with my fringe clip up and i'm wearing specs so when the fringe is too long it will be ugly when i put down. And my face is long not good for proof whatever it call. Please help..
If I were you, I would sweep my bangs to the side and pin just behind the ear. Make sure the bang is rounded. Part it on the side will make your face seem slight rounder... and the soft lines will make you look more feminine :)
I wish you could style my hair for my sister's wedding lol I'm in the bridal party and I have no clue what I'm going to do with my hair yet. You are awesome! thanks for sharing this vid :)
No way! I have Asian mixed with German hair, it doesn't get any thicker or straighter that mine! I totally think you can do it, with a little practice ;)
