I told someone recently about the match Bruno had vs Pedro Morales, and even though the person was only 5 years younger than me, they never knew those two guys ever wrestled. Something else people don't remember is that Volkoff was one of the original members of The Mongols (he was Beppo; Geeto was Newt Hattice aka Tony Newberry).
@TheUltimatestar1 I saw them go at it in person and i tell you even though it was a small town high school gymnasium -they went at it as if it was Madison square garden. No one won but it was a wild match. At some point in time some one outside tried to attack Koloff you easily booted him away-shoving him away before this overly enthusiastic fan could get on the ring apron. This was about 1975. In any case; I believe Pustki chased Koloff out of the ring. No winner. And not many "holds' either!
@norseleague They had two big matches here in Maine back in early '76. I know they took on each other at MSG. I wish someone would post that. Hope your day is good.
In this match, Bruno Sammartino pinned Nikolai Volkoff at 18:34 of the match. By the way, Volkoff is not from any part of the Soviet Union (comment at 6:28 ). He was actually born in what is now Croatia, formerly Yugoslavia.
Yes, and they were all sold out at the Garden.

Do you have Ivan Putski vs. Ivan Koloff? That would be really great to see.
