@noone09 The camera is valuable in identifying the thieves for apprehension later and prosecuting them in court. The camera is also a crime deterrent meaning there would be more crimes without it. No criminal wants his photo taken doing the crime. Without the camera, the chances of catching the thief are reduced significantly.
It's easier to escape with the loot since they'll pass it to the rest of their gang. Even more so that they wouldn't be making a run for it when it's done to avoid being conspicuous...but if they were caught in the act and they start running, the bag would be tossed to another person and they split up.
Even worse, there could be more of them around the area to confront the pursuers if it came to that.

@noone09 The camera is valuable in identifying the thieves for apprehension later and prosecuting them in court. The camera is also a crime deterrent meaning there would be more crimes without it. No criminal wants his photo taken doing the crime. Without the camera, the chances of catching the thief are reduced significantly.

It's easier to escape with the loot since they'll pass it to the rest of their gang. Even more so that they wouldn't be making a run for it when it's done to avoid being conspicuous...but if they were caught in the act and they start running, the bag would be tossed to another person and they split up.
Even worse, there could be more of them around the area to confront the pursuers if it came to that.

@katrienbl - two female @ about 22 sec. in the video to about 33 (left hand side). notice she waited for the poor woman to stay distracted while feeding the kid and grabbed what seem to be a shoulder bag and left in a hurry.

shown in this video is an M.O. (modus operandi) of the so called "SALISI GANG". Look closely at the Girl in brown and see how she casually took the bag from the Customers eating behind her (see 00:25) .
The Victim, almost caught them, but I wonder why they still got away. This is just a precaution to never leave your things unattended.

annfra1 in that situation you could not easily think of those things u've said coz the woman is busy panicking about her bag. the only thing on her mind is to get her bag. we can say it was her first time to experience that situation base on her first move. at least now she knows what to do next time.
lesson
1.) don't panic(cool!!^_^)
2.)search for an personnel or guard near to you.
3.)never try to catch a thief by your self coz it might a group doing the work.
