This is the "National Anthem" for all 60,s pirate radio fans!! It does sound better when heard on the old medium wave (AM), with all the crackles & fading in & out that we used to get back then. (Especially if,like me, you were listerning hundreds of miles away in the North East of England)
@maxpatterson25 yes, we had all the pirates down in london but you did have radio caroline north for a few years. us southerners were spoilt for choise, caroline, swinging radio england, north sea international, radio sutch and many more. what memories of brighton beach and my transistor
This is the real version! When all so called "pirate stations" stopped, Radio Caroline continued playing this. It's apity on Itunes you can only find the dull re-recorded version.

@micky849 You said it, what times they were. I remminis so much over those lost days. The World today is such a nasty place in comparison. The girls fight more than the guys now. The high streets were never like today on a Saturday night. Thank God I was born when I was. People today will never know how magic it was.
bring back the pirates! those were great days ... when the DJ's heard an interesting new sound and played it as many times as they liked promoting obscure records to all time classics..so different from today with the playlist planned weeks in advance...the worst being boring and mediocre BBC radio 2
Further to my earlier post this tune also closed transmissions of 'Caroline' at 2am each morning and was enjoyed by all police officers on night duty (10pm to 6am) when taking refreshments in the early hours of the morning.
This opened 'Caroline' at 5am each morning. I was a young London police officer around 1963/64 travelling to duty for 'early turn' (6am to 2pm) and tuned into this fantastic sig tune.
has anyone got the lazer themetune and not Abba thankyou for the music the words "listen to the deejays on lazer radio, playing them records on rock and roll show"
this record and a song called rinky dink was always played on radio caroline north by disc jockey tom lodge, the southern station was nowhere near as good as caroline north
@wb5oxq: There is a modern online Radio Caroline...but this version caters to the indie-rock crowd, not those who remember the offshore pirate original.
I just think about the old days and my dad and mom when I hear these guys

yes it was the theme song for Caroline and it is now on the internet and Sky radio stations. Caroline North was always far better than the South ship
manxrav 3 years ago
Isn't this the theme song of Radio Caroline the of shore broadcast station near the UK in the 60's? They may still exist on the internet.
