@krazyjk022 If you check out the Allpar website, you will see the police road tests. The v6 Charger is equal to the P71 crown vic. The Hemi charger smokes the p71, not only 0-60 but top speed.

where I live, in the suburbs, the charger would be more than welcome, lots of highway to cover, and it seems the only thing my town looks for is style, soooo yea. Also I do know many people that own or did own a charger, and all said that is is the best car they ever had.

The transmissions in these cars are very unreliable. They are much too weak for the power that the engines put out, and they break a lot.

I'd have to disagree on personal experiance, I own a Police charger with 59,000 miles on the clock which as never had an issue, the police units have transmission upgrades don't they??

Quite possible. I was going by a couple of complaint websites. I've read complaints about the Impala police package too. I have a 3.8 Impala, and though I've never had any problems with the trans., there are a bunch of complaints about its reliability (especially the SS),and even in the Buick and Saab installations. Maybe there's just a bad batch of transmissions out there, or maybe they just need a heavy-duty cooler installed.

Oh I understand now, I'm in the UK with mine so not enough Chargers here, there is maybe 30 in the entire country most of them being V6's I know I do have heavy duty coolers on mine so maybe thats it

It's all bullshit to sell cars. Basically you need a armored halftrack with a .50 cal turret. Nobody is going 150 anymore. Your generation is to lazy to fix anything. It's all bumper to bumper forever with construction and accidents galore. So your gonna just sit for hours to. Last year they sat for 3 days on I-81. And without a doubt, I see dead people everyday. On fire, bleeding to death, the kids all killed, I seen em like pancakes to. I've lost count bodies in blk bags like sardines.

Wow! It does not handle as well as he says and it is not economic. Great car for enthusiasts but not for cops. Crown Vic is old school but works better for cops.

The crown vic is incredibly slow with its 4.6L low 200s horsepower engine. They arent nearly fast enough anymore, when cars like BMWs, etc that can all drive better than 150, the crown vics cant keep up.

My town (pop. ~10,000) has a Charger PI.

it's a very aggressive looking vehicle,

it dosen't have the push bar,

and it's got a stealthier light bar on top then the one in this video.

You never see it coming lol.

it's white, with silver lettering on the side, that's the only way you can tell it's a cop, other then the rims, and the huge radio-antenea on top.

I've gotten pulled over plenty of times.

MY dept just got HEMI Dodge chargers. We will see how they hold up. The are turning many heads in the Houston area. The 2005 and up Crown vics are pissing us off with transmission failures. The Impalas here have also not held up and cost more. Chargers are cheaper in Texas even with the HEMI!

hudgeliberal wait till the challenger comes back on the scene, a stock challenger with 6.1 or 5.7 HEMI would blow the doors off of that Camaro. And the police are needed in this country and liberals like all you just don't want to realize that. I belive putting a 3.5 in this vehicle would be the waste of tax money in this situation. out here in rockville MD all the cops have these. i personaly think they are a waste. with all the traffic htere is gonna be no really high speed pursuits. plus the cost of mintenance is gonna be a lot more than regular crown vics.
