@twit I'd just like to go on record that the fact that there is no electrical outlet has nothing to do with it being $79. No Kindle comes with one anymore... for any model, it is now an extra purchase.
@kennycwhetstone I am in the states... when did you get yours because that's how they are now... i just changed. You can look it up pretty much anywehre, or even in the amazon forums.
@kennycwhetstone In a product review for one of the wall charegers you can buy, dated 11/15/12 a customer says "A wall adapter does NOT come with the new $79/$109 Kindles or the new Kindle touch; just a USB cable. This wall adapter can be used to charge any Kindle except the Kindle 1 which came with it's own proprietary adapter." I don't know when exactly this started, but I guess it's been at least since November. I'm assuming it's since the K3 "keyboard"/touch thing happened
go to the "Amazon Kindle Keyboard 3G w/Free WiFi & E Ink Display: Unboxing and Review" video to get an honest and knowledgeable review of the Kindle Keyboard 3G
is this a good model to get. or should I get the kindle 3. I dont want the kindle fire because I have a mac and I uses my mac to watch movies and ipod for music.
A great review thank you..I should be recieving mine tomorrow and now i am even more exited, i have a kindle keyboard at the moment but I can't wait for this..
could u please show the process to look up a word in the dictionary. I want to see if it too much struggle with the keypad only, otherwise I will wait to buy the touch. Thanks.
I think shooting a portion of the review outdoors makes sense. A lot of devices are practically unusable outdoors due to lighting, and a big selling point for devices like the Kindle is how versatile they are in that regard.
Very nice review, Tom, but the battery life according to Amazon is 1 month and that s assuming you read on average about 30 minutes a day, i.e. around 15 hours. So, if you are an avid reader, charging may need to be done more than you realize.
@musictaps Different angles to spice it up a bit. Shot outside for variety. We will be doing more reviews and don't want all of them done inside with the same backgrounds and sets.
Nice review Tom, but I didn't here you mention the $99 touch. For $20 more I think it would be worth it to buy the touch over this very clumsy 5 button model. JMHO.

Can this version of the Kindle read text vertically and horizontally, or are readers just stuck with reading vertically?
CoraBleu 2 months ago
@CoraBleu Kindle Touch is the only one not handling landscape (horizontal) right now.

And if you ever think that Ads-model is not your type, then simply go to your amazon account and pay 30 bucks to remove ads immediately .

Is there a glare when you read on the Kindle? because there's a glare on it during parts of the demonstration.
