they are too big, too many people to be safely evacuated , design flaws in engine room and electrical system . do you remember last year Carnival Splendor was adrift on Mexican west coast due to complete failure of electrical system. no report of causes of incident available . My biggest concern all these ship are built on same pattern

cruse ship are not safe you take the trip at your own risk if something happens

Its incredible that after 100 years history repeated itself! Thank God there wasn't the same death count as Titanic! Titanic ran into ice, this ship ran into rocks. Titanic sunk because of human error, Costa Concordia sunk because of human error but, after so much technology and so many new safety regulations the crew acted the same way they did in 1912, no one new what to do and no one had any idea that it was going to sink! If they did every single person would have been out safely in time.

@greendayawesome1 I AGREE with you..... its nothing like the TITANIC.... i mean the temperature, the surroundings, the sight that land was near by....the water wasnt ice cold, and the main thing was it was during day so people could see where they were heading, going, jumping etc........... wheras TITANIC...was a complete different situation.

@ri2kh4n I agree, but I must correct you, it was night, so it was dark, and it's winter so water was cold, not probably so cold as titanic's but cold enough that a man died for the shock of diving in the water, In a different situation the victims would had been 4000, fortunately the ship didn't sink completely because they were near the coast as you stated, so they managed to stay up there waiting for help and the rescues went there quickly.

@ri2kh4n being near the coast saved them (btw if the ship had stayed away from coast since the beginning it wouldn't have sinked) the similarities with titanic exist, they both hit something (rock/iceberg) and in both the crew lied to the passengers to prevent a dangerous panic. And in both this happened because someone wanted to show off. (there are passengers who said that the moments before they hit the rock, the musicians were playing Titanic's theme song .__. I hope this was a lie)

really sad =( i was up all night watching her when she started to take on that list and then she just fell infront of my eyes...and as sailor on passenger ship in baltic sea i have training to evacuation in emergencies and i just couldnt do anything for them..thats horrible to just whitness without can helped those poor people =/ it really feels sad that this very fine pretty new ship has come to a total loss but thats nothing compared to the sadness of knowing passenger and crew was lost.tragic
