we all know that randy's game plan is to take vera down, he did it once,once! most of the time he is just pushing vera to the fence.how is that controlling the match? pushing to the fence is how the judges see randy gets the match. doesn't it say that in almost every sport, defense wins a match or a game. how about vera's take down def on this fight?

I think saying Vera was "robbed", is a little dramatic.

I had Vera winning, but it was close in my opinion. I could have seen it go either way and wasn't really shocked or unhappy with the decision.

And you cannot compare it to the Shogun vs. Machida fight, this fight was much, much, muuuuuuch closer then that fight.

I can already see the UFC going the way of boxing as the politics are starting to get in the way of the sport itself. Randy Couture won because of the multi-fight deal he has with Dana White. They're not throwing a truckload of money at Couture for him to lose.

Dana White is in this business for three reasons: money, money and more money.

The Judges are employed by various state and national athletic regulators, not the UFC.

The bad judging is the fault of the various commissions not properly training the judges for this sport.

You are probably right, but the bad judging just made Dana White a whole lot of money over the past couple weeks.

I honestly think that two things need to be done. The first is that judges need to be better trained. Most of the judges out there are boxing judges thrown into judging MMA.

The second is the scoring system is off. Takedowns count for too much, and leg kicks and submission attempts don't count for enough, and that's just for starters.

They need to have a hybrid score system mix of Pride's and the UFC's.

I can't see payola though. White's second most famous quote is "Don't leave it to judges"

ufc 105 was decent glad bisping is back on good terms with his fighting i think dan hardy was impressive but had alota chances 2 finish up and he should of done and vera did a great job and with out a doubt should of won that fight but

Something needs to be done.

You guys should do a video on this. I say we could increase the number of judges by two. Perhaps we could even have two judges which watch on TV, while we have three ringside. There also needs to be judges especially trained for MMA.

In a time where we can go to space, surely we could use video technology too.

When Shogun fought machida, having MAchida pinned up against the cage standing didnt get RUA shit for points because Machida winning is good for business for the greedy ufc/zuffa bastards. Vera probably won round 3, but it is easy to see how the judges would have given the first two to Couture, so I really don't have a problem with the decision. If you're not straight-up outraged about a decision after a fight, then it was close enough that you shouldn't have let it go to the judges in the firstplace.

It was a horrible fight, i had couture edging vera in the first and third rounds, just because of randy octagon control and somewhat agression he showed in the first. And i thought he handled that takedown perfectly in the third, got back up, and got the better of that last brutal exchange.

Vera's pretty fucking good otherwise. If forrest beats tito, id like randy to fight either tito, or maybe even forrest.

its all well and good saying no to let the fight go to the judges but its really not that simple. its hard to always finish a fight without taking unnecessary risks. you should be able to have enough confidence in the fight that if u won clearly u shouldn't get robbed, if its v close fair enough but shogun machida was ridiculous

Michael Bisping's guard defense in R1 of his fight was the most skilled he's looked in his entire career. His hip movement and his ability to get back to guard after losing it without takind any damage was impressive.
