  • ALLAHU AKBAR

  • 9:42 USB sound :D

  • I watch this video everyday. Shows me that i can one day overcome my oppressors and show the world my potential. Love you Naim. You taught me more than any other man i have ever met.

  • it is clearly greatest performance ever in weightlifting olympics..

  • Naim rules.

  • TURK YIGEN TURK , TE MOON AND STAR , THATS TURKEY , BULGARIA IS GREEN RED AND I DONT KNOW WHAT THE OTHER COLOR IS? PURPLE?

  • HE IS NOT TURK !!!! HE IS BULGARIAN -BULGARIA FOR EVER!!!!!!

  • @moonbarilla he borned in bulgar but he is Turk. Everybody knows it

  • WOW!

  • he is so small but so powerfull :D

  • whats hes smelling at the beggining of the vid?

  • @Lindenhall ammonia.

  • just wondering, was he naturally short or was it because he lifted at such a young age?

  • @Actuallityy he was naturally of short height. 4'11. both his parents were very small.

  • @Actuallityy what a stupid fucking question. Was michael jordan naturally tall or was it because he played basketball at such a young age?

  • @MultiTrollHunter That makes no fucking sense. Playing basketball does not make someone grow taller. However weightlifting can stunt growth because it can cause stress fractures on growth plates that can stop the growth or shorten the growth and make someone shorter if started at a young age.

  • @Actuallityy you are literally too stupid to even insult.

  • @MultiTrollHunter I will put it plain and simple. Playing Basketball can not stunt your growth. Weight lifting can stunt your growth.

  • @Actuallityy Please point me in the direction of a peer reviewed journal article which provides statistically significant evidence to accept the hypothesis that weightlifting "stunts" growth...... I'm looking forward to this....

  • @MultiTrollHunter I said can, not does.

  • @Actuallityy What your feeble brain is doing is making a basic cause and effect mistake. You see elite weightlifters and notice that they are short so you conclude that being good at weightlifting makes you short. Any person who is able to look at things laterally and analytically will consider this from the other perspective. They aren't short because they are good weightlifters they are good weightlifters because they are short as it is a huge advantage in the sport to have small levers.

  • @Actuallityy Actually basketball has a much higher risk of stunting growth than olympic weightlifting. Football, rugby, basketball, and every contact sport all have higher injury rates than olympic weightlifting.

Anything CAN stunt your growth if it has the potential to fracture epiphyseal plates badly enough. Weightlifting as a sport is one of the safest sports in which one can participate with regards to injury rates.

  • @Actuallityy Epiphyseal plates (growth plates) rarely get stress fractures; they are fractured in traumatic impact events. Weightlifting is one of the safest sports out there.

    one source (out of many):

Injuries sustained during weightlifting training and weightlifting competition are substantially lower than injuries incurred from other sports such as football, gymnastics, or basketball.

  • Greatest lifter in history. Greatest tv coverage of lifting in history. Not seen much since. Thanks for posting this truly remarkable document.

  • I love how he went all out on this performance..went for a world record every lift and even ended with a bang that will echo through weightlifting history..too bad weightlifters nowadays lack the balls to take on a challenge such as this..Naim is truly a gladiator.

  • too bad it isnt legit because he snorted cocaine before he lifted

  • @eulogy09 keep on dreaming

  • Did anyone count how many olympic and world records Suleymanoglu has broken at this evening? :-) (snatch + clean and jerk + total) I think there were about 16 records!!! In the following year he improved his own records.

  • he is a wizard!

quick question, wht is that he inhales from a bottle before doing the lift?

  • @bbbbbb222222 special amonia salts. Absolutely disgusting smell, the sensation is like your brain is poked through your nostrils with 2 red hot iron rods.

  • @awaii90210 ok, and what is the purpose of this amonia salts? to "wake him up" for the lift?

  • @bbbbbb222222 improves focus.

  • @awaii90210 oh very well, thanks for the response

  • What did he smell at the beginning?

  • @ShotokanKarateRules ammonia probably

  • @NeoSpringy

Ah right, what does that do?

  • Legend of my childhood... I had a chance to talk to this guy (yes, Naim) in 2000, in a hotel in Antalya where he was training for Sydney. All the Turkish team were also there. He answered a lot of questions including how he started weightlifting. He said he was discovered by a weightlifting trainer when he was swimming. The trainer basically knew he would be perfect for weightlifting just looking at his body. He was 10. He had no emotions when he was talking. Cold blooded weight terminator.

  • @alicivril you saying naim was a cold blooded weight terminator? or the trainer who discovered him?

  • @brands1 I mean Naim was so.

  • very nice video of the legendary Naim. He was the king of weightlifting sport.

  • He's The KING........))))

  • He can't even lift a five-pound weight...

...off the top of the refrigerator lol

  • the real king of weightlifting

    senden bir tane daha gelmedi

  • pocket hercules!!!!!

  • looks like mini arnold !

  • Naim alayının amına koymuş aslanım benim.

  • My dad recorded this on vhs tape when I was a young kid, and sometimes he would watch the tape. I havnt seen this tape for like 15-20 years now.

What I remember from this is the cheering turkish crowd, which u wont see in a normal weightlifting contest.

  • Naim o gerçek bir şampiyon

  • He's a legend

  • I dont know why but I want to cry when I see you Naim. You are the hero of my childhood...

  • @HalfLife224 your answer is secret in your question :)
