  • yay!

  • I think i found my new make up god. you just saved me like 150 bucks with three different videos

  • Cool I need to do this on my powder in my contour/blush palette cuz it broke but that's a bigger pan id have to use the bottom of a cup instead of a quarter

  • i think thats a good idea i should do that!!!!!!

  • i think thats a good idea i should do that!!!!!!

  • 0:51 hahahahaha

  • Total awesomeness! ;-)

  • Your the best! I wis I could've learned this sooner, I would've saved so many shadows!! Lol but late is better than never so thank you!!

  • so you don't have to break the rest of it up in order to repress and fix the broken shadow. that's way less intimidating for me. i'm nervous to do this, i'm afraid i'm really going to ruin the shadow. i broke 2 nyx shadows so i can't use a coin, guess my trusty fingers will have to do the pressing! i'm just glad i found out that i don't have to break up the rest of the shadow. amen! thanks Koren, you're the best! keep the awesome vids coming. God bless. <3

  • great idea. thx

  • Thank you!

  • can i also use makeup remover instead of alcohol?

i heard that frm another video.

  • OMG! why didnt i see this 2 weeks ago, my satin taupe fell on the floor and i threw it away! grrr

  • after you fix the crack is the eyeshadow prone to cracking or shattering again?

  • @manakiscat I've done this and my eyeshadow has not cracked again.

  • This is sooo helpful cuz I cracked my favorite Mac eyeshadow when I waz depotting it cuz I didnt wait and I waz goin to through it away but then I found this video and thx soooo much!!

  • Would you use this same method for a MAC matte blush in harmony?

  • will the rubbing alcohol ruin the eyeshadow?

  • will nail polish work ? or will it harm your eyes??????

  • stupid question...the alcohol won't harm your eyelids, right?

  • why is it bad if eyeshadow cracks?

  • @minkaminka04 it's not bad, it's just annoying to have pieces falling everywhere if you're trying to put eye shadow on

  • @GabbyHoffarth

Thanks! I've been wondering about that for awhile. = )

  • Pure genius!

  • can i use nail polish remover?

  • @xwxjackiexwx Nail polish is not a very smart idea, would you put nail polish on you eyelids? Didn't think so.

  • I love you! this is so smart. I had some problems with my coastal scents palette but you helped me a lot with this vid. Thank you and love from Davao.

  • I have a NARS laguna bronzer that is cracked. May I use this method to repair it?

  • wow! GENIUS!

  • I wonder if this would work with my cracked mineral blush. I would need a big coin. :p

  • Great tip Encore! I just love you and your videos! You have the cutest personality. Last night I cracked my favorite LORAC shadow. I am going to try this method to fix it. Thank you :)

  • Hi Koren! Love and learn so much from your videos! How do you fix a broken blush? I have a NARS blush duo with Orgasm and Sin. My sin has cracked and I am hoping you would know how to fix it!! Thank you in advance!

  • Great tutorial. Love the channel

    A subbie

  • I know alcohol wont work on matte finishes, but would this work on satin or frost blushes??

btw Thank you sooo much for all your amazing informative videos Enkore!! I learn something new every time I watch your videos/tutorials.

  • what can you do if u crack a compact foundation

  • thank you so much for this. i would have crushed it and repressed it and this saved me the trouble. i mended a cracked mac blush! :)

  • Hello ^^ Thanks so much ^^ I'm going to try that with my cracked ones ;) Your videos are always so helpful ...

  • great vid! i liked the mention of a cute pattern! i have those same placemats!! haha

  • OMG, thank you sooo much!! I just depotted my MAC eyeshadows last night and had a slight boo-boo with my Woodwinked. :-(

  • You just saved me a lot of money! Thank you<3

  • how do you get rid of a crack in a duo?

  • Live with it or Replace it. It sucks, but I've never found a way to repress a duo shadow. I had my Sea and Sky duo from M.A.C. break on me a while ago and there was no way to repress it.

  • I thought i had to crumble the shadows before...but now I know I dont if its just cracked. Thanks!

  • nice!!!!!

  • does this change the consistence of the shadow?

  • no change whatsoever! Yea! : )

  • Bonjour Enkore, that is a great tip, i just would like to know what kind of alcool you used, cause i am sure you know, there is many kind and i don't want to make any mistakes...thank you love, and you have amazing hands and smile by the way,

    ^B^ xoxo

  • hi there, i'm not enkore. but basically he used rubbing alcohol. just drop by your local pharmacy/drugstore and ask the people for rubbing alcohol. they should know.

  • hey sweetheart, how are u doing?

thank u 4 answering my question, & i have 2 say, ...when i saw ur name, it reminded me of a great memory i had one of my good friend guy use 2 call me that name, in french of course wich is Framboise & it always gave me the sweetest of feeling, so thank u 4 this great memory flash back

    isn't life grand?

i bet u did not know that u would bring someone else the biggest smile on her face today hey?

so take care my friend, hope we'll chat again

    ^B^ xox

  • hey there, no problem. happy that i could help you cos i was baffled by the rubbing alcohol thingy initially as well.

oh really? what a coincidence :) haha, glad that it made your smile. keep the smile on your face alright :) take care !

  • Koren, you are 10 kinds of awesome! Thanks man!

  • Thank you sooo much for this! I shattered 3 of my M-A-C eyeshadows and felt like crap because they are so expensive. Now I can fix them!!

  • What if you have a thing of Eye shadow that you dropped and it cracked? cause that's what

    happened to me

  • What kind of alcohol are you supposed to use? Just rubbing alcohol?

  • 91%

  • you the best !! xd your ideas help me alot bye!

  • arghhh i wish i could do this to my mineralized blush

i dropped my moon river TWICE in the same 5 minutes and it broke the second time :[

it split right in the divide between the blush and highlighter and the blush shattered a tiny bit but now its just a hassle to use and doesnt look as pretty in the pot anymore

hahah when u put the spray bottle down the first time i thought the edge of the cloth was the edge of the table

thought it was floating in midair like whattt???

  • lmao!!! me too! i had to pause it and my boyfriend was like wow r u serious? and i was like yes! and hes like its glass haha! i thought the bottle was either floating or somehow he was balancing it somehow lol idk

  • that was funny, when you were pressing down really hard to mend the cracks you got it stuck to the place mat (or wateva)

  • my mac mineralized eyeshadow duo didnt crack it is completly like a pigment now!!!! i am so pissed because its my friends fault!!!!

  • you should first crumble all of the eyeshadow to a powder then press it so that you dont see any cracks. If you still see the crack after its done drying its gonna end up commin out again.Love your way of doing it though.and you videos are the best.I tell all my friends about you.and love the hat by the way =0

  • The most AMAZING advice I've EVER seen!!!Thank you!!!!!

  • I dropped my MAC bronzing powder today! So mad, and I just bought it last week. Do you think this would work to repair it?

  • Of course! (:

    it's the same concept :D

  • i depotted my Vanilla eyeshadow, half of the chunk came out. SOoo Mortified....

  • you are so F- ing smart. I just love your ideas. keep up the great work

  • hi koren!!

thank you so much for all your videos!

I had a question...I have a sephora "blush me!" blush i just cracked badly.

should i use this alcohol method or the mineral press method to maintain the color payoff??

    thank you so much!!!!!

  • hey koren!

heelp! i just went to the local drugstore to get some rubbing alcohol and they only had "aceton" and "amonium" something. i got the aceton one. can i use that too??

  • Enkore! Please Help!

I cracked my Melba powder blush and my Joyous (favorite) beauty powder blush while depotting today. Can you use my regular rubbing alcohol (70%) or should I use a mixing medium? I don't want to lose any color payoff.

    Thanks!

  • thanks 4 this vid =]

i always end up throwing them away coz i didnt kno how 2 sort it out, but now i do =D

    x

  • HOW DO YOU FIX NYX and WHAT KIND OF ALCOHOL????

  • regular rubbing alcohol

  • also what kind of alchohol. rubbbing, isophrol, ethel

  • rubbing alcohol

  • i need help my pressed powder shattered . will this work

  • if its matte powder - you want the Mineralize Pressing method.

  • I used this to repair my MAC Blot powder (which I dropped on my ceramic tile floor). It was actually quite shattered and it worked wonderfully.

  • Will this work for my mineralized skinfinish? I dropped it in my sink and it exploded :(!

  • oh gosh nevermind. there's no such coin that's THAT big :P

    what can i do then?

  • Hi Koren! I love your vids! Is there any way I can fix my MAC mineralize eyeshadow? it's the kind where one side is mono and the other is marbled. i guess there's no way to restore the dome shape? will i have to press them into 2 separate pans? i don't want to lose the marble-ness though! thanks so much in advance! :)

  • yeah unfortunately you will loose the marbled effect.

  • Thank you so much for this Video, I fixed my craced Romp eyeshadow and it worked wonderfull.

Does this work with every eyeshadowfinish from Mac? I have a cracked Veluxe and a crackes Satin.

A few weeks ago, I tried to repress my cracked Fleur Power Blush an this doesn't work. There is no color payoff anymore, why? I pressed it with alcohol.

  • it doesnt work on MATTES, you will need to do the mineral pressing method on those.

  • how

    would

    u

    fix

    nyx?

  • You are brilliant... thank you

  • Thank you so much for this video I almost cried when i broke my eyeshadow!!!

  • could this work even if it wasn't depotted while IN the pot?

  • this may sound silly butt,,,

can you use water instead of alcohol?

    x

  • no, water wont work

  • hi encore! i have a question, can you explain to me why you use alcohol? can i use water instead? would it make a difference?

    thanks -nhi

  • makeup ingredients are metallic in nature (unless its matte and finely milled) and alcohol is what will bind the makeup particles before it evaporates. Water will not, it will just dry back to loose powder form.

  • ohhhh! okay i understand now lol thanks :)

  • I tried it one and it worked! It was a circular one from IMAN Cosmetics.

what do i do with a square powder? The one I have that is cracked is NARS. I put alcohol on it and it completely absorbed it. Did I do something wrong?

  • koren! you saved my eyeshadows!!! lol... thank you sOo much!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so clever!! thank you!!

  • Hi Encore, I hope you haven't answered this already, but I have a MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow that is in it's pot and completely crumbled. Any way of fixing it?

  • yes, I fixed a friend's crumbled eyeshadow in my video called Pressing Eyeshadow/Pigment - Check that video out and I hope that video helps ya.

  • no, the alcohol completely evaporates once it dries and it doesntr ruin the eyeshadow. People depot to fit in palettes, if you don't prefer it in palettes then keep them in the pots.

  • I know why people depott. I wouldn't mind a duo palette with two of my favourite everyday shades but I would skip the final step and leave them in the thin layer of plastic, that's all I'm saying.

  • YEAAAAH I've fixed my cracked "peppier"! Thank you Koren!

  • So many times when I watch your videos I think, "Why didn't I think of that?!" I'm so glad to have you doing my thinking for me...this is an awesome tip and I just adore you! :)

  • crack is wack.

  • what if your shadow is cracked a lot more than that, because it was dropped, and it doesnt cover the pan fully anymore?

  • then you will need to repress the whole shadow. I have a video on pressing eyeshadows. hope that helps.

  • amazing! I love!

  • you used the quarter to press down on it, what would you press on it if you cracked your blesh?

  • hey stephie - I use a Spice Jar or a Coffee Tamper. I have a video called EnKore Answers that briefly covers this subject. Hope that helps

  • so for matte e/s can you use fix+ from mac or the 1part glycerin and 3 part water? does that spray well?

  • the glycerine mixture is best - and yest it sprays well.

  • OMG! thank you so much for sharing this! i cracked two of mine and i was going crazy on how to fix it =D thanks again!

  • if its matte powder, you want to spray mixing medium not alcohol.

  • are you pressing with all your might or just firmly? i received a beauty powder blush broken and i'm thinking of doing this rather than transferring the broken parts to a sifter jar. most of it was broken off :(

  • just firm enough, not too hard.

  • How do you repair matte shadows? I have one that cracked 3 days ago and the edges are still discolored from the 91% alcohol that got on the shadow while I was trying to get it under the pan. Thanks in advance for any tips!!!

  • youw ant to use Mixing medium for mattes, not alcohol

  • I just tried this on two e/s that have been completely crushed for two years. And now they are as good as new. I'm so glad I didn't throw them away. Thanks Koren!

  • Does the alcohol irritate the skin? I have really sensitive skin and am wondering if using alcohol for mending or pressing will dry or irritate the skin on and around my eyes? Thanks!

  • the alcohol evaporates once it completely dries. It just acts as a temporary binder.

  • thank you soo much..it was my first time depotting today and i cracked my fav eyeshadow:(..but this fixed it:)

  • Thank you so much!

  • thanks a bunch!

  • wow this is great! :) will it work on shadows that are completely crushed? that's what happened to my humid =\

  • hey juvierita - yeah, if you have most of the crushed powders, you can totally use this method to repress it.

  • Koren, Thank you so much!! I fixed my eye shadow pallete following your amazing video... your awesome!!!!

  • alcohol for what?

for like cleaning out your ears and stuff?

  • yeah plain household rubbing alcohol. some are called isopropyl or isoprphenol.

  • Also, do you think you could measure a Quarter coin for me & send me the measurements, as Im from Australia & obviously we don't have the same currency as you. It looks about the same size as our 10c coin but just to be sure I can compare sizes. Thanks! Love your work, keep it up!

  • Thanks for the tip! Question, does re-pressing with the alcohol make the eye shadow really crappy? I mean, when you put it on the colour isn't as intense as it was when you first got it? Or even the consistency isn't the same?

  • there is no change in color or consistency. The alcohol evaporates once it completely dries. A quarter is about 24mm just smaller than the shadow, so it fits nicely on the pan. UK coin fits too.

  • wow.

    you are truely amazing.

your just so creative and stuff:)

    love you!

  • yeah its pretty much new thats what sux.. ok so ill crumble it all and use your minerals method! right? thanx Koren your simply the best! I knew I could ask you heheeh Im always thinking of you when i got to my local craft store im always like oh koren did this and blah blah blah I talk about you to all! I hope I dont sound too weird =0) xoxo MaryAnn

  • hahha awe, thanks MaryAnn - definitely keep me posted on how it turned out!

  • Koren! will this work on studio fix? it broke yesterday =0( idk how. but 1/4 became crumbs can i just use this method or will i have to break it all down? thanx sweetie!! your the best!

  • its easier topress it all together, so crushing them all together is better. Now, if theres not much on the compact, you can keep it loose once its pulverized. You'll find it applies just as nice loose. its best to re-press this using my Pressing Minerals method, as Fix is finely milled matte powder prior getting pressed.

  • koren! will this work on studio fix? it broke the other day idk how =0( thanx sweetie you are the best!

  • thanks for this.. i accidently broke one of my shadows this morning

  • so it does work for NYX single shadows, right?

  • yeah, just need to find a square press as the NYX singles are square shaped.

  • cont. and make sure the press is smaller than the shadow so that way you can twist it. otherwise the corners of the square will not work as well as a circle one would.

  • WOW! thanx!!

  • Awesome thanks

  • wat type of alcohol shud i use? is isoprophyl 70% alcohol ok?

  • Yes, Isopropyl 70% is good.

  • tnx dear.. ur very helpful!

  • ur so cute!

  • cool! you're so handy. love your vids :)

  • Oh dear, I should have watched this before i got rid of the eyeshadow particles that came off of my chipped MAC eyeshadow!

This is a super tutorial for future accidents (which hopefully wont occur) though.

    =)

  • OMG!!! you're a genius!!! ^^

  • Oh my gosh, thank you! I ordered the fafi eyes 1 quad and I dropped it on the floor right when I was taking it out of the box and totally cracked it, so this was a big help!

  • That's sick! I love it! Great idea, thanks! =D

  • Instead of using a spray bottle, would it be okay if i just wet the cloth?

  • hey alina - spraying will allow the alcohol to seep to the eyeshadow so that it binds the crack under/below the surface. If you just wet the cloth with will only fix the top surface layer.

  • ohhhhhhhhhh, okay.

    thank you :)

i actually just found a spray bottle, so yay!

  • Thank you so much!

  • Yes! Thank you! Nothing sadder than opening my palettes and seeing cracked and ugly shadows.

  • hi enkore! does the alcohol have any bad effects on your eye? i.e. drying eyelids

  • hi lyn - the alcohol evaporates when it completely dries, so it's not going to effect your eye.

  • My blush is shattered like that also. Can I use the same methods?

  • hi Angel -yes, you can fix blush and bronzers using this method.

  • Wow! I have a couple that are cracked that I didn't know what to do with. Now I can fix them! You are the best!

  • You are sooo awsome!! Thank you for this!!!!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! I dropped my eyeshadow on the floor and it cracked and i was able to mend it!

  • You really are the best. Can't tell you how happy I am when I knew I would not have to put the cracked eyeshadow into a separate container! Into my palette it went after this neat trick..Thanks!

  • koren! ur the best! i tried this and it worked!

  • omg enkore, i wish i knew about this video..i dropped my palette in the sink the other week and my vanilla e/s was ruined so i tossed it. what a waste! :[

  • ahh i love u Enkore i my Ricepaper eyeshadow from MAC completely shattered i remembered ur video and its like brand new again ..thanks sooo much!

  • ok.. i was wondering if this would work on eyeshadows that have been ruined.i have Gesso eyeshadow that has a shiney film on it, now it has NO color pay off at all...

i can rub my finger over it and nothing shows on my finger. Would this work to fix it??

  • hey Maike - its better if you just re-pulverize the whole shadow and repress. Much like what I did to my Pressing Eyeshadow video, when I fixed my friend's Blue eyeshadow.

  • Hey Enkore,

today my Eyeshadow cracked while depotting it and I thought it would be kind of dead now. But then I saw your video and I gave new live to my broken eyeshadow. So I want to say thank you so much for your great tutorials you're awesome.

  • Hi Enkore I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you!! I was using your labeling tutorial(which is genius btw!) when one of my eyeshadows completely shattered and was able to use this tutorial to fix it! I really appreciate you taking the time to make these videos. They have really helped me organize all my palettes and fix my broken shadows. It worked like a charm!! Thanks again! :)

  • Im so glad you got to fix it, and glad I could help! Keep watchin!

  • Yay!!! Thanks, this was so needed! I dropped a pan of one of my favs and have not known how to fix it properly!

  • yayy! this was fun, i had eye shadows that were shattered looking... and this worked so well! thanks! xoxo

  • Honey let me tell you - today I received some shadows in the mail and one was completely busted. Not cracked - BUSTED! I was SO ticked off - then I remembered your video, RAN to the computer and was joyfully able to fix it and avoided the hassle of sending it back. Thank you!!!

  • you're welcome! :)
