Seagal had never been choked out by gene LeBell. Go to "Asians on films.com-part 2-minute 1:50".
You can listen to Diana Lee Inosanto who is the daughter of Daniel Inosanto. She said there was only a verbal confrontation on the set of "Out for Justice" and no fight at all. She further said that people exaggerating things...
I knew it--only bullshit talk in order to make Seagal look bad!
Now I know what happened. Seagal allowed LeBell to perform a choke on him because he thought he could escape due to his training but apparently he couldn´t.
So Seagal was never beaten in a fight as a bunch of people claimed.
Seagal allowed LeBell the choke and that´s a big difference!!!!
i train jiu jitsu and now thinking about really working on my judo game , knowing what i allready know i have no doughts he could choke out about anyone he wanted too very fast , i have the upmost respect and admiration for this guy, im not the type to hero worship but this guy is a class act and one of the dearest souls ever! im gettin a pink gi!
I wonder what the penalty would be if he actually talked about the seagal incident.. It must be pretty serious because he has kept his mouth shut for a long time .
LOL, Seagal is an Aikido black belt, I do believe he got choked out. Aikido is an awesome martial art, with repetition drills for almost every real world encounter, however it does get beaten by Judo/Jujitsu. The reason is Aikido came from Ju-Jitsu and they have alot of the same techniques.
Im doing AIKIDO for 3 years now and i can truly tell you that you have no idea aikido came from JUJUTSU not jujitsu Ueshiba developed aikido primarily during the late 1920s through the 1930s through the synthesis of the older martial arts that he had studied. The core martial art from which aikido derives is Daitō-ryū aiki-jūjutsu, which Ueshiba studied directly with Takeda Sokaku,
I can´t believe the Seagal incident. I know that Gene LeBell is a very notorious martial artist and a grappling expert.
But in the last 20 years I only see video material in which he already has someone in a hold. But he looked overweight. I´d like to see how he gets someone in a hold. I only see material when he had someone already in a hold!
It's absolutely true. LeBell never really boasts about it for two reasons: one, he's a classy guy & saw no need in tarnishing the reputation of an up & coming action movie actor... two, bragging about choking out a clwon like Seagal would be an insult to all the real, humble martial artists & fighters in the world. Seagal is considered a silly facade to most martial artists.
Agree. Seagal is an actor @ the end of the day, and I dont care what Degree black belt in "Aikido" he is. I'm sure that makes him nice and well rounded, but let's be realistic here.
Gene Lebell is a master grappler AAU Judo Champion and expert in the combative aspect of Judo. He's coached and tooled numerous "Martial Arts Experts" in his career and become coach to thousands for a reason.
Until Seagal shows he's coaching 1000 badasses? Then I'll buy into his "Aikido" shit.

Steven Seagal released his bowels after being choked unconscious by Gene Lebell.
Chuck Liddell also shit his pants after he was completely knocked out by Rashad Evans.

If the best MMa fighter in the world ALLOWED you to choke him, you could easily choke them out, even a beginner could do it.

lukevacancy: LeBell didn´t speak about Seagal in the interview! But I know that they didn´t fight at all.
In all the videos Gene LeBell didn´t fight at all. He always has someone in a choke but we never see how he got there.....

I would like to know whether Gene LeBell really choked out Steven Seagal on the set of Seagal´s "Marked for Death". LeBell never confirmed the story.
It´s probably only a rumour!
Katzenhase 2 years ago
@Katzenhase i heard Seagal took him to court to shut him up
crowofdeath2 2 years ago
i think he actually talks about the story in the first part of this interview, although his version is much nicer.
