  • Damn. Dawkins looks like he's either bored as fuck, he's above the people there because he has a Ph.D, or he's rude.

  • @GodKiller97 It's the age.

  • @OnyonKnight Age contributing to what? I could imply several things from that

  • @GodKiller97 He doesn't have the old stamina anymore.

  • Dawkins looks completely bored

  • I keep running into these definitions of faith, belief & knowledge. I hear people saying stuff like, belief is binary or we know because we have proof. It's not that simple, there's various definitons of faith & knowledge & both sides are guilty of equivocation fallacies time & time again. Belief isn't binary when using fuzzy logic. Epistomology is such a grey area that virtually anything could be rendered a mere belief. I don't agree that religious teachings are completely void of value either.

  • @MrLittletomdj From my understanding, a belief is a statement someone holds to be true, and is therefore binary.

The variety of reasons available for gaining a belief do not change the definition of belief or it’s binary nature.

  • @bradkey98765 I accept that you can shoe horn belief into a two teired logic system, I just don't think it's a clever thing to do. For example. Do you believe that I'm a smoker? Do you have faith in science? My point is that there are degrees of belief & it's far better to argue that a belief is justified & rational rather than exclaiming that it is not a belief at all. Rational beliefs don't have to be based on evidence, they can be a product of a process of elimination.

  • Equestions goes personal :) oh the frustration of creatards.

  • Wow. It would literally take a 2 hour video to refute all of the lies and double standards Ra shows in this vid and you guys just keep drinking the Kool-Aid!!! Amazing! He's literally the Paris Hilton of YT. Famous for nothing and yet everyone hangs on his every word and just blindly believes it to be true. Apparently zombies ARE real. He's made such a living out of lying to himself and others that he doesn't even recognize reality anymore.

  • @Equestions Give any example of these "lies and double standards" and I'd be happy to correct you.

  • @66tomm99 (1) OK. At 1:40 he says that board members are being given donations in excess of 10's of thousands of dollars by people in an attempt to sway their vote one way or the other. Who are the board members? Who are the people donating? What evidence does he have to prove it's an attempt to buy their vote? These are serious accusations that he should be talking to the authorities about if they're true.....but they're not. He's lying to sway people his direction and woo Dawkins. So...(cont)

  • @66tom (2) please ask Aron who these people are and proof that this is going on. He can present evidence then great...if not he's lying, by his own definition, to intentionally mislead people. He then goes on to say these people are 'home schooled and have no degrees of their own". Once again who are these people? What is their level of education? We're not even 2 minutes into this thing and all he's doing in intentionally lying to people about Texas. Unless of course he can provide proof (Cont)

  • @66tom (3) for any of the things he's saying. Of course, I think he's simply trying to brown nose Dawkins into noticing him but Dawkins is obviously SO not interested in being up there with a group of nobodies. So please contact Aron for me and see if you can get this evidence. We'll start there and then move on. It only gets better as Aron continues to talk. Digging the hole.....

  • Aronra was great there.

  • @ozredneck22 Yes my daughter went to a church in South Texas -where they told her that dinosaurs never existed. It was her immersion in religious idiocy that made her atheist. I had little or nothing to do with that.

  • @AronRa I'm thankful that doesn't happen in my school. Of course I haven't started biology classes yet, as I'm only a Freshman, but in World History my teacher seems to be putting much more emphasis on that the evidence for ancient hominids is enough to call them facts. (Of course one person keeps insisting that aliens helped build the first civilizations.) But irregardless of my future teachings I make it my goal to get a Ph.D in Biology.

  • "Science doesn't know everything. Religion doesn't know anything."

    Best phrase ever

  • @DarkInnerEssence I always thought that was a funny remark to be made by Creationists. If scientists thought they knew everything, why wouldn't they have stopped?

  • I remember seeing Aron posting on Christian forums years ago debating regularly and being a respected poster - it's really cool watching him now share a stage with the likes of Dawkins. And he's a self made man as well!

  • This is you? Well done! I commend you for your outspokedness and your truth values.

  • I was just as excited to see Aronra here as I was to see Dawkins.

  • @ AronRa ...

So this is what I have come up with, and it is hyperbolic, but people have attacked me with the following claims, so seems fair ...

Delusion is defined as a strongly held belief that is not supported by facts.

Sociopath is someone who lies and manipulates others so that others will treat them well, with no concern for the results of their actions on others.

Religious people are either Delusional or Sociopathic

either you believe lies or you tell lies so others will be nice to u

  • @turtledragon420 or,,,, delusional sociopaths. people who tell lies but believe what they are saying is true.

  • Texas is an awesome Country and y'all know it.

  • @ 07:23 richard dawkins see's god.

  • Awfully awesome!

  • Your story about your early life, Aron, where "God" and "magical creation" were universal axioms, is almost exactly the same as mine. After scratching my head and wondering how adults were expecting me to accept fairy tales as undeniable fact, the first time, and finally, I saw a plylogenetic tree, my reaction was actually "Thank God!! - Something that can I make sense of!!" - Lol!!

  • Any chance you could get Mr. Melchiorre to point out his mistakes, and upload part three with corrections in captions?

  • Part 3 watch?v=Mhz0CukqDCw&feature=related, or, 'Communicating Atheism (pt 3) Melchiorre mirrored. ; )

  • @deucepitbull

You got that a lil' backwards, dude. And no, we fight against ignorance, stupidity, falsehoods, their influence, and those who perpetuate such nonsense.

And even then, just WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE claiming that we're people who have to "force" or "trick" themselves into believing in no God, when it's really YOU who has to force YOURSELF into believing in the Christian God! We don't have to "force" ourselves to believe _despite evidence_, our beliefs are based ON that e

  • Who cares about part 3, part 2 has ARONRA!

  • @duecepitbull They don't fight "god". They fight against the influence of the people who believe in gods.

  • @chaomonga They still are wasting their time...if they dont believe then let it be and get on with your life if others believe in GOD then let them be.

  • @duecepitbull if it was that easy (you dont believe, but i believe, let it be) then it wouldn't be a problem. When religion gets to the point where it is on our money, in our pledge of allegiance, & in our country's motto, then it has gone too far. Our constitution says people have a right to personal beliefs, but THAT'S ALL! The RUNNING of the country should have nothing to do with religion whatsoever. When the country endorses theism (& it has) it makes kind patriotic atheists feel unwelcome.

  • @WillHJohnson Its always Majority over Minority and the small percentage that is against religion has to just go along with what the majority believe..

  • @duecepitbull I'm sorry, but that is absolutely incorrect. The US Constitution guarantees a separation of church and state. The only way to have freedom OF religion is if people that don't want it can have freedom FROM religion. This cannot happen if the government wrongly endorses a deity. If the government one day decided to change our slogan to "in Buddha we trust" and put that on our currency, it might make you see my point. Freedom of religion is precisely the opposite of what you stated.

  • @duecepitbull Wipe the drool off of your chin and learn how to form a sentence.

  • @Braxtonmccoy Take your glasses off nerd.

  • @duecepitbull I'm an atheist, yet these days I'm apathetic. After watching countless of believers vs non - believers videos of debating and arguments; it's become pretty pathetic to me, these arguments and debates will continue no matter what anyone says...people change on their own, not because you think they should.

Atheist don't force themselves into unbelief...it's natural process.

  • @luciano9009 There are some people like "cult of dusty" on youtube that says they deconverted due to youtube "raping their faith," and wikipedia "raping his faith" all from facts about the bible, Jesus, Christianity, the god arguments failing, and empirical evidence. And yes it was a natural process for me, but youtube was the catalyst that helped me understand why I was the way I was.. The creationists need to be taught though lolXD

  • Who questions if there's really a president and it's all a big fraud? Birthers? :D

  • being so close to the man (Dawkins)... and capturing hsi attention with your own speech and charisma... priceless !!!

  • i skipped the part with the femenist woman, not enough about general atheism, too much talk about sexism.

  • @jonman122

    -

Yea, wasn't really interested in her, stupid women. ....;-)

  • AhhhhronRa - the Ahhh is for a breath of fresh air. I think you very succinctly pointed out the problem with debating those who will not abandon their faith. They often know they will not budge, no matter what the evidence is. I think that's mostly from fear: fear of hell, or of being wrong and having to re-evaluate life. What are the greatest fears these people are facing? Perhaps that could be another series.

  • I love AronRa!

"But religion starts from.... THERE... and goes THAT WAY!"

    LOLOL

  • Your grammar gives me a chub.

  • YOUR WORLD IS AS BIG AS YOU MAKE IT ,

YOUR MIND GOES AS FAR AS YOU TAKE IT,

YOUR HEART'S NOT THAT STRONG, SO DON'T BREAK IT,

THE UNIVERSE IS YOURS, JUST TAKE IT. AWAJUK999@YAHOO

P.S.MR.AronRa,KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT. THOUGHT A SIMPLE DITTY MAY HELP(LET'S SEE/I BET THERE WILL BE COMMENTS FOR USING ALL CAPS AND COMMENTS ON WHO AM I TO SOUND LIKE I OWN THE UNIIVERSE?)

  • "...but religion starts from THERE, and goes THAT WAY!" I literally lol'd.

  • science doesn’t know every thing…….religion doesn't know any thing.

that’s gonna be my motto from now on

  • man that guy can speak. 2 opposable thumps up for Arron.

  • I appreciate the fact that you point out that there are theists who accept evolution. Dawkins put pen to paper on that one and I'm curious to know if he talked with you further about it?

  • Dear Youtube,

Can I PLEASE like this again??? PPPLLLEEEEASSSSEEEE???

  • Beautiful

  • Holy crap, you start by making a few YouTube videos and end up sharing a stage with Richard Dawkins.

    How awsome is that!!!!!!

  • @DarkAngel182 It does not depend on what meadia you are using, its about who you are

  • @sukablianah2 quite!

  • @DarkAngel182 Liked your comment! But 126 videos is more than "a few". And getting ~60k followers takes a lot of effort! :)

  • @McEliece42 what I meant was it started with those "foundational falsehoods" videos, then went on from there.

  • 5:30 thru 6:33 encapsulates and explains my de-conversion.

  • @mamaschristmasbunny "But Aron Ra no matter with a degree or without one is not on Richard's level.

Aron Ra has no discipline in any specific area, except for being known as an atheist, Satanist."

Correct Dawkins has a dergee in Biology & AronRa doesnt, but does that mean that AronRa is wrong in what he is saying, NO. But if you think he is wrong PLEASE provide the evidence to support that claim, OH & why would you call AronRa a "Satanist"? He doesnt worship anything let alone the "devil"!?

  • @mamaschristmasbunny So if you were in Dawkin's position, you wouldn't lower yourself to sit at a table with the hoi poloi? A very grand person you must be.

  • 8:50, Dawkins starts taking notes.

  • You fucking jerkoff douchebag awesome motherfucker - just watch Dawkins reactions to you speaking, how he leans in, and is at times, completely devoting his posture and attention toward you.

This is the guy who did the science education videos in the 70s in the UK. He's an athiest to the degree he likes coffee, compared to his stature as a scientist.

This guy sat with Dennet, Hitchens and Harris, and he's giving you the same attention.

I hope you appreciate the acknowledgement of that company

  • ROFL at his last words.

  • You know you are an interesting person when you enthrall Richard Dawkins by your story.

  • @dallased25: for real. Totally for real.

Fuck this, I'm going to send a private message ot Aaron pointing out this fact.

I'm just so proud of how he did here, how he stacks up, and how he captivated the crowd, and Dawkins. <3 that hairy fucker.

  • Lol, 10:40 AronRa goes on one of his famous (3000 word per minute) explanations about evolution, I'd imagine he's gotten so quick at it, because he has to keep explaining himself to creationists, but at 10:40 check out Dawkins face when Ra starts telling it. Also, is it just me or is there something about AronRa when you look at him and hear him that makes you think before his name is spoken or written it shall always follow the title (GrandMaster)

  • AronRa you are so entertaining to listen to. You should write a book.

  • Nice presentation.

  • @AtheistSpanker Religious fundamentalists have about as much intelligence as dogshit.

  • @AtheistSpanker deep man... deep!

  • @AtheistSpanker And your evidence for that is?

  • @aido92 Yep, you're dumb.

  • @AtheistSpanker I knew that word "evidence" would confuse you.

  • Aron, I need someone to save the world for me. Could you help me? Please look up James Hansen and Venus syndrome. Tipping point of no return is december 2016. If we don't end all fossil fuel industry immediately, all life on earth gets incinerated within centuries.

  • @AtheistSpanker Aww, that's cute.

  • Texas needs help, y'all.

  • @DrawingFractals There's a mirror uploaded. It's easy to find; it's probably in the related section.

  • Science doesn't know everything, but religion doesn't know anything. Great quote!

  • AronRa and Dawkins together is so fucking amazing!!!! 2 of my favorite spokesmen for atheism

  • Very good. However, I find puzzling the emphasis on "science doesn't know or can not disprove if there is a god". This is not the correct statement. The correct statement is that there is no evidence for god and therefore no reason to think it exists. Lack of evidence does not increase the probability of its existence.

  • Ugh, I'd love to listen to this but I can't be arsed with the terrible audio quality.

  • Hey You gotta love the guys who know about "evolutionism" They have killed at leaste 9 kids that I know of in Arizona praying high blood sugar away.

  • AronRa, I love you. I have touted your series to pretty much every atheist I meet as a source of excellent arguments, but more importantly, I have encouraged several theist friends to watch it. I tell them they don't have to give up their god, just their inerrant Bible and you show them so beautifully why that is the case. In one of your videos you mentioned that the fundies are not worshiping god, they are worshiping the bible. That arguments hits hard with them.

  • HERE'S PART 3!

    /watch?v=Mhz0CukqDCw

  • "Science doesn't know everything. Religion doesn't know anything." I love it!

  • AronRa, if you weren't AronRa you should have been Conan The Rationalist

  • Brilliant! AronRa, thank you so much for sharing this.

  • AronRa - That was absolutely fantastic!

  • What happened to part 3???

  • @Evilanious Melchiorre's smug tediousness spontaneously combusted.

  • @Evilanious

    The user anzuki has it.

    Its called

Communicating Atheism (pt 3) Melchiorre mirrored

    watch?v=Mhz0CukqDCw

  • @Evilanious Despite the fail that seems to be part 3, I think AronRA shouldn't have removed it. But left it up and pointed out what's wrong with it for those who don't know.

  • @Evilanious i think it have been removed because in part 3 the speaker got thr black civil movement all wrong

  • @Evilanious "anzuki" mirrored it

  • @Evilanious Tom Melchiorre realized that some of his speech was factually incorrect, so he requested that I pull that one. That's why there is no part 3.

  • @AronRa It's a pity about Tom not being happy with his output though. I've never seen, read or heard anything from him before, but I would assume, on the strength of the other 3 heads sat at that table, he would be generally worth hearing.

I will, of course, look him up, but what can you tell us about him?

  • @AronRa If we all hold hands and, wish really hard, the factual inaccuracies will disapear.

  • Wow

  • Science doesn’t know everything … religion doesn’t know ANYTHING.

AronRa, thank you SO MUCH for using my signature quote! I feel very proud to have helped spreading that meme, I hope it catches on! And you've actually posted this vid on my birthday, I could not have wished for a better present :-)

And let's thank the author of the quote: Kevin, whoever you are, thank you!

For those who want to know what I'm talking about, see ht tp://ww w.leagueofreason.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=114531#p114531

  • Whats up with Dawkins? He looks totally disinterested into what everyone else is saying and like he doesnt want to be there. Did I miss something?

  • @Jaiyeson

I'm not sure. In school the most effective way for me to listen to the teacher was to close my eyes and bury my head into my arms on the table. That being said, Dawkins seemed attentive to me.

  • Aron has an absolutely awesome way of structuring what he says to only gain ground, with no back and forth. He starts from the bottom and solidifies his arguement all the way up to a rock-solid conclusion. Well done as always Aron, it was really cool to hear you discuss your process a little bit. Excellent little phrase at the end there as well.

  • It's fun to move the progress bar around and watch Richard Dawkins dance as everyone else sits still. And he gets this quizzical/aghast expression when you explain your agnostic perspective.

  • @klutterkicker Agnostic theist or agnostic atheist?

  • We need a better platform for education. That platform can only arise through a change that effects how decisions are made in the system. Aka we don't need politics, we need science.

    watch?v=4mkRFCtl2MI

  • "Science doesn't know everything. Religion doesn't know anything".

    Amen!

  • 11:17 lol, Aronra's FFoC series was "hurting people"? Really??

As Ben Stone of Law & Order put it, "Truth will set you free, but it won't make you feel better."

  • @DrownedInExile, yes. Apparently creationists who watched the series found that their brains began to hurt because they were unaccustomed to dealing with facts or thinking. ;)

  • What happened to part 3?

  • Why is part 3 private?

  • @ferulebezel Wild guess> maybe he's waiting for permission from the speaker?

  • Pretty much the same idea as my comment re: Skepchick, I agree with what he said entirely but I don't see that the bulk of what he said was really had to do with communicating atheism.

  • @pacogoatboy Fair points. Although Rebecca's talk could be regarded as meta-discussion about communicating. She didn't talk about communicating atheism, but about being a (certain type of) person trying to communicate atheism.

    Aron was completely OT.

  • @DuhIdiot1 Indeed. I was looking for something that pertained to atheism in her talk as opposed to something common to virtually any online communication, though as you say, at least it did have to do with communication. Aron went the other way entirely and really only talked about atheism, with little or no reference to communicating it. All in all, it was not the best showing.

  • The ending was the cherry on top "Science doesn't know everything. Religion doesn't know anything". That should be said at the end of atheist conversations like when Christians say amen. :)

  • @metalsam09

Oh, ok. It is rather annoying that right-wingers like the ones in Texas create a stigma for the rest of us.

  • @Ilikemustard Not all texans are religious freaks. Sheldon Cooper is from Texas.

  • Do you think Richard Dawkins paid AronRa to be his sole security? How much would a tank rental cost?

  • Aron makes such good points in this video.

  • Please don't associate right-wing with religion. When you said "people on the board have been given donations by political right-wing persons", why did you not just say "people on the board have been given donations by religious persons"?

I am far right-wing, that doesn't mean I am religious, or even conservative for that matter.

  • @Ilikemustard That's correct. I'm far right myself, libertarian as well. But I am also an atheist.

I think the reason this prejudice exists is because most atheists are very liberal (left wing) and associate any conservative issue with that of religionists. I know plenty of religious bigots who are Democrats. I also know many Republicans that laugh at the "religious right." I also happen to think that many atheists substitute a god for BIG government. That is, government is god (Marxism).

  • @FaganRoberts I'm an atheist libertarian too! :D

  • @progrockcoffee

Join the party. Advocacy of libertarianism is as important as advocacy of atheism.

  • @Ilikemustard The rationality of libertarianism is epitomized in Glenn Beck.

  • @Atrocitas6

You realize libertarians always ridicule Glenn Beck when he refers to himself as a libertarian, right?

You realize he apologized on a radio show for it, right?

I bet you know nothing about libertarianism.

  • @Ilikemustard

Yeah. It pretty much boils down to anarchy in a sweater-vest.

  • Well done sir, I enjoyed this immensely.

  • Really glad you got to get some press for your FFoC series. Good on ya!

  • @coasterpro ha ha ha ha.. only certain type of adult men are feminists. You will never see a significant level of exceptions to that.

  • Gotta hand it to AronRa. Good job in sounding calm and well-spoken! I would've shit my pants in the presence of Dawkins.

  • @lefthandovRA The comment wasn't about rebecca. It was about this emerging idea that atheism and feminism must belong in the same box.
