  • How old is this house? I have plan to turn my exsisting basement laundry room into a bathroom/laundry like you have here. I don't think my house has the pre installed circle plastic disc on the floor where the toilet will go. I'm guessing that toilet, sink and shower can all be branched off and run into the main drain pipe that the washing machine is currently draining into. Would it be a fairly easy job and not having to cut into the concrete floor? I have no idea at this point.

  • Why did you put the clear plastic vapor barrier over the insulation? All that will do is hold vapor between the wall and plastic, thus ruining the insulation, and rotting the wood. The clear plastic is supposed to go between the wall framing and cement of the basement wall.

  • @degnarraer The vapor barrier was installed according to building code for our area. We could not build it any other way.

  • The house is since completed with drywall. Sold as well.

  • is it being plastered?

  • You must love all that house tinkering, Miss B. As I recall, in high school, you always wanted to design your own house. This must be the warm up.
