  • ..this lady is more than ugly!..I can understand Henry's principle for this women case...

  • D*** you truly cannot be happy unless you have either banished or beheaded your latest wife

  • I read the book, The Last Boleyn. It is in the veiwpoint of Mary Boleyn, Annes Older Sister. Stunning, dramatic, incredible read, Anne may have been best known along with George and Thomas, but if it werent for the beautiful Mary, treasured Mistress of the King for five years, they would never be.

  • @puddycat10136710year Was that the other boleyn girl? I read it, and it was very interesting, but it was also very historically contestable (I mean, i know it's historical fiction, but still). It really made Anne out to look bad, when in reality, most modern historians have concluded that she wasn't guilty of any crimes; she was just too intelligent, and Henry only give her an X chromosome in his stupid sperm...

  • @oxfordpictionary Yes, I have to agree. Anne was incredibly smart, so witty in fact that she kept the king on his feet for quite a while. (Since almost all men, King Henry being no exception, like a good game of cat and mouse.) It is frustrating to think that once King Henry caught her, though, he lost almost all interest. Especially when she couldn`t bear him a son.

  • that's why he became fat and got a gangrenous leg (or foot). punishment.

  • i bet henry viii really thought he was doing anne a favor by hiring the swordsman to behead her, instead of using that dull ass ax. he really was a fat bastard.

  • with a swing liek that, that shouldn't cut her head in half not off.

  • A fitting end for the whore who's quest for power led to the death of Sir Thomas More.

  • I love the narrator's voice, Tom Hardy.

  • Was it really the job of ladies-in-waiting to take care of the body and cut off head?

What an awful job for women...

  • @Floberovpapagaj I thnk it was only Annes ladies who cared enough .

  • I thought her execution was not public.

  • @Floberovpapagaj It wasn't opened to foreigners, but it was public. There was a large crowd.

  • @litnut

I read somewhere that no common people were allowed only nobility

  • VIVE ANNE BOLEYN!

  • Anne didn't pay the executioner. He was already paid before she arrived.

  • Quella merda di Enrico VIII

  • I have always really loved the history of the Tudors, but this really made me very sympathetic toward Anne (I always was) and really showed Henry in a despicable light . I always thought him somewhat of a tyrant, but for all his advisors who could've been corrupt - he was an exceptionally intelligent and thoughtful monarch/man who, even in his own mind, must've known he was committing atrocities left and right

  • henry the 8th was a demon

  • i HATE king henry the 8th!!!

  • I'm related to Anne Boleyn. It's true! My family found out we are related to Anne Boleyn, so I guess I am related to Elizabeth 2 :)

  • £20 for doing an execution!! That must be like 100 grand now or summat

  • There was too much bass on the narrators voice. I had a hard time understanding all his words. King Henry VIII must have had one hell-ov-a wanger danger to get all those girls to marry him knowing what lay in the future for them. I think it was the Beatles or some group in the 60's that wrote I'm Henry the 8th I am, I am...I've been married 7 times or more... Sheesh, life in Merry ole' England must have really been an experience in those days. What a woman would do to get three squares a day.

  • @Travisab1 You're really dumb aren't you. The man was an absolute dictator, do you think many women could refuse him. Poor Catherine Howard was disgusted by him and still was forced to marry him. But it is a fact that in his younger years he was a very handsome man, and just so you know he only had six wives.

  • @goodgirlkay No, I'm not really that dumb. I know the story. I can't see anyone wanting to marry him knowing the chances are they'll soon die if he gets tired of them. The bass was really a little to hard in the video though.

  • the tudors is better

  • @afrababes1 to be correct, you should say "the tudors are better"

  • I read somewhere that she was only 4'11" tall with her head on her shoulders. King Henry was 6'2".

  • I don't like this version of Anne. This actress looks very masculine...*_*

  • @Nicollie1062 no she doesn't

  • @34RiverStone meh..guess we have different opinions, that's alright. cheers

  • they should have taken this thinger mabober and turned it into a documentary about henry viii's reign. it would have been WAY better than that stupid david starkey one

  • The music during the scenes of Anne's hysteria and after the execution ais by Arvo Part (The A with an umlout) Great cd. But what is the wailing music during the communion?

  • wow he paid extra for a swordsman to behead his wife, how thoughtful of him.

  • i wonder what Henry would have thought if he saw that his DAUGHTER Elizabeth was crowned queen and became one of the best monarchs England ever had?

  • @eques101 That´s a good question

  • The real Anne didn't cry when she was executed. She reportedly looked kind of happy going to her execution. See the tudors anne execution for a more accurate idea of anne's behavior at her execution.

  • For those of y ou who saw it and might recognize it, the music after Anne is beheaded was featured in the mini series "Auschwitz: Inside The Nazi State".

  • Was she still trying to say "Oh God have pitty on my soul" after being beheaded? Because her lips were still moving.

  • Based on the things people do nowadays comparing to those times..almost anyone would have been beheaded in this world.. she certainly did not deserve die like that.. but different times, so many lives taken away and sometimes for what ? having a more perverted sexual appetite ?

  • @87Euroboy that's true, but remember that Anne Boleyn didn't deserve to die even on those times, because she was nothing but innocent =)

  • what a nasty history and the most disgusting king .... fat arrogant prejedouse and self centre .

  • tbh i wouldnt giv a shit if my hubby was paying extra for me to die in style id still be pissed off

  • I can't understand how this woman is extolling the virtues of the man that is having her head chopped off under bogus charges. Her last words should have been, the King is an asshole and Cromwell the dingle berries on his royal backside.

  • @KnightOwl2006 A lot of them on the TV series, The Tudors, for example, seem to say good things about the King ( who was an utter shit). I think they're doing it out of fear as they're surrounded by a mob of gutless people too scared to agree.

  • @KnightOwl2006 It was custom and to protect her daughter. Elizabeth was always treated and brought up as Henry's daughter. Given Anne was accused and convicted of adultery Henry could have always disowned Elizabeth and the little girl's future would have been very bleak. Anne was smart enough to know this.

  • @brontewcat Good point.

  • In the 16th century the public hated Anne Boleyn, that is the ones that were around when she was alive.

But today she is loved by many.

Odd that isnt it? Its almost as if her entire life story has been romanticised and

its as if everyone today is looking at the Tudor period through 21st century eyes.

But that would be stupid surely?

  • @TheDrmr3 I have nothing against anne but now all love her because in these times all live better.

  • how awful x_x

  • Henry VIII was a dickhead, he was selfish, racist, sexist, and a pervert, and punished everyone else around him for his wrong doing, he saw as himself as the hand of God, and could be excused from adultery. Anne did give you an heir you fat bastard, you were too blind and sexist to see that. I hope you're in a very dark painful place. I hope you're wives are partying in heaven.

  • She was amazing. Proud, intelligent and beautiful! I wonder Henry VIII had to be really stupid to kill such a women. I belive that she could change the history of England, but unfortunatly she wasn't given a chance.

  • @Julie3476 She gave birth to Elizabeth I so I'd say Boelyn did she did change the course of English history.

  • sigur ros makes any event twice as emotional :(

  • LONG LIVE THE QUEEN...FUCK U HENRY VIII...FUCK THE KING!!U ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD..NOT UR WIFE!!!FUCK U HENRY VIII!!GO TO HELL!!COZ THAT'S UR HOME!!

  • being that male chauvinism was a foot here and played a very important part in the history of the English throne i say Elizabeth I didnt rule for forty four years as recorded but for fifty years because Edward, Henry's son, should not have ruled before Mary or Elizabeth so Elizabeth in my opinion takes his six years of rule

  • Henry VIII was probably the worst tyrant England ever had. What an evil man. Even though as the narrator explains, Anne didn't insult Henry VIII, so that he would not jeopardize her family, this flattery bothers me to no end. The man deserved to be torn limb form limb for all the pain that he caused others: his wives, his daughters, his loyal friends whom he betrayed, the church and the thousands of people that he killed.

  • How gruesome and to think that people used to go to see public executions as entertainment. Anne's demise was sad, but its not as if she was a nice lady. I guess that the saying, "what comes around, goes around" really applies to her.

  • @Rayarena

there was also a superstitious belief back then that the blood of traitors have miraculous healing properties, otherwise they won't be so excited for such an event

  • @Morinaga82 Thanks for sharing that bit of amazing information with us. I didn't know that. You would think that the blood of traitors would not healing properties, rather opposite properties. What a weird superstition.

  • @Rayarena Ttrue.................just punishment for a shrew and a scold

  • What a cute little girl!

  • Damn you go see another woman right after your wife's death?? Lol...How horrible can a person get?

  • Anne Boleyn must have felt terrible to leave her child behind and never see her growing up. How cruel Henry was to take his daughter's mother away!

  • because beheading with a sword is so much nicer.

  • do you know that 20 pounds (that the executioner was paid) back in those times is worth like $1.5 million today in england wow Henry just spent money didnt he

  • She looks like Anne Boleyn and Katherine Parr

  • So very sad :_( and yet bittersweet.

  • The whole purpose of this age was 13,4. boo, The innocent card works with imbalance.

  • It's usually only wicked awesome if someone is important, bite the hand that threw the bone, or standing up for something ridiculous like Jesus was. Jesus wasn't as devoted as Anne. Why kill someone you hate when you can leave them to a life of agony instead? That way, the person will sin and be bad, and the other will win the argument, prevail past. That is, until we have freedom of speech and the answer.

  • Sweet just desserts all around. Henry goes through wives like they're going out of style in the hopes of an abundance of male heirs, and his second-born daughter is the one who ends up going down in history for her supremely popular and successful reign. Cromwell arranges the beheading of Anne under trumped-up charges, and is later beheaded himself under trumped-up charges. Beautiful. You couldn't write a book with more drama, intrigue, and irony than the real-life story of the Tudor era.

  • that documentry moved me to tears at the end when there were scenes of the little girl playing Elizabeth id playing with her dolls. I belive Anne Boleyn died inocent and with pride in all of her accomplishements, and most of all her dignity.

  • @evaperonfan I'm sorry, did you know Anne because it sure as hell sounds like you did. How the hell do you know that she was bad? Hitler killed innocent people whereas it's proven that Anne was a kind person and actually knitted shirts for the poor. Perhaps in the end she was driven mad with power but only because she was horrified over the loss of all the sons she tried to have. This was a horrible era to live in and I don't think you should judge people you have no idea about.

  • @evaperonfan Mary was like Katherine of Aragon? :))))))). Do you know that because of her you know the expression of Bloody Mary? She killed thousands of people. Queen Mary was worst than any other queen of England.

  • @andreeaelle

At the same time though, consider that Mary was the last Catholic monarch of England who tried to return the country to back to a Roman Catholic country. As England had a long history of Protestantism after this, and a century and a half of rivalry with Spain, Mary became part of the "Black Legend." The cruelty of Spain/Catholics of this period. Mary killed thousands? Perhaps. Queen Elizabeth (and see WAS great) most certainly killed more over the course of her reign.

  • @illerac84

That is true, but she only did that to protect her country from imbecile people with powe. that made the religion as they wanted. She never killed a man because he was Catholic.

And don't forget that Mary wanted Elizabeth killed.

She protected her country because she gave the liberty of decision to people to choose their religion.

I'm nor Protestant or Catholic, but I believe that the church through the history killed more people than Hitler and Stalin both.

  • @andreeaelle

Yes, but here is the other side of the issue. Mary did call for Elizabeth's death, but after more than one rebellion against her (and in those rebellions the leaders called for Mary's removal, and putting Elizabeth on the throne). It is unlikely that Elizabeth was innocent in all of these cases. There were a number of priests tortured in the Tower, and a few well documented escapes. Elizabeth still imposed a state religion though. At the time, I'd say it was the right move.

  • @andreeaelle

Also, after Edward VI died, and Lady Jane Grey was put on the throne, both Mary and Elizabeth were labeled bastards. They rode into London together to great cheers. But politics is politics, as I said a moment ago. And religion was politics at that time.

  • @illerac84

Religion was, is and will remain politics.

  • @illerac84 Mary only killed 300 "heretics." By comparison "Good Queen Bess" killed many more as did Henry VIII. Mary was the least brutal of the brutal Tudors. But alas, Mary's enemies took over after her demise and they wrote history as they saw fit.

  • @Rayarena

And Mary ruled for how many years and how many of those executed where actual threats to her throne for her to order their execution?

  • @Morinaga82 Mary ruled for 5 years. Mary's biggest mistake was allowing the church to execute people in her name, unlike her father and sister who directly executed people.

In any case, Mary has become the brunt of unfair criticism. Her father is reputed to have killed 10 of thousands of people and yet nobody calls Henry, "Bloody Henry."

If Mary had bore an heir to the throne, I can assure you that her place in history would have been different, but alas, her enemies followed on her heels.

  • how do they know what time it happened?

  • Sad story....

  • It is said that on her way to her death Anne Boleyn hope for a repreive from King Henry. No repreive was ever issued and she was beheaded by a swordsman from France that King Henry had hired to do the deed as they put it in those days.

Her daughter Elizabeth would become one of the greatest monarchs to ever sit on the throne of England.

  • It is said that on her way to her death Anne Bolein looked about to see if the king has issued a pardon for her but no pardon was ever issued. She died as scheduled and buried on an umarked grave.

  • FUCK THOSE PEOPLE WHO KILLED HER!

  • Henry said anne commited treason and incest but he did too that stupid

  • I actually cried.. lol. awesome video though!

  • Wow, found out a lot I didn't know from watching this.

  • I'm related, by my mother's side to Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I.

  • @Naushop1 LUCKY!

  • I as well, through my Mother's family.

  • no youre not. through what line? I doubt youre a howard.

  • No youre not. Through what line? I doubt youre a howard.

  • I hope the fat pig monster is rotting in hell!

  • I really love Queen Anne Boleyn!

  • Long Live The Virgin Queen And Her Mother!! :)

  • Amen

  • Please, someone, anyone, what is the name of the last song?? I have heard it in other places, but I do not know the name, it's so beautiful!!

  • What movie is this from? And whats the name of the music during her execution?

  • i know right? in a way, i find that king henry was the STUPIDEST king in history! he let other people convince me that his wife Anne was commiting adultry!! what poop, i feel so bad for Anne,

  • @binkslady101 Henry in his attempt to have a male heir, heard what he wanted to hear.

  • i agree, but no matter what, someone must have known this was all a lie, and should have told him(but then again, its the king, nobody would want to dare say that the king of all people was wrong) but i think he should have been happy with what he had, 2 girls, i understand that in those times it was almost necessary to have a mail heir, but still ENAUGH IS ENAUGH!! :P

  • i bet if i told henry his wife (Anne Boleyn) gave birth to one of the best rulers of England i bet he'd say i was crazy

  • Nice to think even now Henry VIII in hell with his nuts in a red hot meat grinder.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song, not the Sigur Ros song at the beginning but the one played on the piano that starts at 5:41

  • @giddy213 I know it's a bit delayed. But the song is called "Spiegel Im Spiegel" by Arvo Part, he also a song called "Fratres" which was the more tense cello and piano piece in part 2 of this video.

  • haha i love its that elizabeth is a blondie while shes suppose to have fiery red hair.

  • Elizabeth was not fiery red, that was a wig, She had strawberry blonde hair which looked blonde when she was a baby.

  • henry was wrong for accusing anne of something she didnt do...he killed her because not only did she not give him a son but also so he can marry jane seymour...how cruel can u get...have the people back in em days ever heard about a damn divorce???

  • @dominiquen210 Henry didnt accuse her, Cromwell did when he recognized her a threat and used the kinds growing dissatisfaction with her as a means to her end. Do some research?

  • Lolol I know right

  • Anne is very good but who is this Actress portraying Anne she's so pretty and nice

  • just wanted to say, elizabeth was ginger, not blonde.

  • @atheerandharry She was strawberry blone actually and strawberry blond children are usually blond when they are young. Her bright orange wigs in later life are wigs. She had the same colouring as her dad.

  • whose execution is more critical? Jane's or Anne's?

  • @JAMdeathgod18 I would say Annes execution was more critical as Jane was just a blip Mary had to overcome. Annes execution led to the forming and strengthening of Elizabeths character.

  • I've never known Queen Anne, so I won't say that I like her or not. (':

  • I just saw The other Boleyn Girl and thought what an amazing turn of events you only find in a movie till in the end it mentions Elizabeth and was like blown away! Anne Boleyn's story is really amazing

  • @Ecompass4

The other Boleyn Girl destroys Anne's Character..I do not say that she was a siant...but the other Boley girl is a lot against her...However I liked Portman's perfomance...For me the best are Dormer and Bujold...

  • @QueenAnneBoleyn1536

    (siant) *saint I meant...

  • I don't like Anne. She was not a good woman, but this video is very touching. It's hard to feel glee at her death, despite all of the hurt that she caused in so many people around her.

Also, its hard not to be moved by Anne's words. I'm always amazed by the eloquent manner in which people spoke in those days.

  • I agree! I am not an Anne fan, but I agree her death was completely unjust.

  • how can you think that when you hate her gu ts?

  • @Rayarena hey just to let you know. She never really did anything wrong. Her judgement was rigged. The king tired of her. The only thing she did wrong was that she was unable to give the king a son.

  • Stardush2o, I know that her judgment was rigged. She was set up as were her alleged lovers. I wasn't referring to the "wrong" that she was accused of, I was referring to the wrong that she did Catherine and Mary. If there is such a thing as karma, surely Anne's fall from grace and her end were karma for what she did to Catherine and Mary.

  • Comment removed

  • but I thought you thought she went to Hell...

  • Anne was not a good or a bad woman. She was grey. She helped the Protestant Reformation, protected reformers. You are just saying she was a bad woman because you worship Katharine and Mary. Anne didn't kill anyone, Mary DID. Why Mary is so pitied is beyond mem.

  • pk odias a los protestantes?

  • She was not a whore, I know you have to be a sympathizer of Catherine of Aragon, but that doesn't make Anne Boleyn a whore. They were both victims of their time.

  • It was nice of them to use a sword. Axes often took more than one try to get the job done, like poor Charles the first, who wore too many layers to his execution. But Charles did a pretty crappy job of being king, so at least his death could sort of be justified. Lots of people died back then for way worse reasons.

  • yeah he sucked balls as a king

  • Um no he 'sucked balls' as a husband. Under Henry as King, England flourished in arts, architecture and truly entered the renaissance. Try not to make such ill informed and generalized comments, are you American?

  • No i'm spanish, we had a King ( Charles II "The Hexed" ) who did suck cock. He was retarded, deformed, ill, and could do virtually nothing.

In my opinion the best 2 kings we had were Charles V and his son Philip II because Spain was in every damn we were the shit . ( They were )

But I was not talking about that obese gout plagged pimp Henry VIII . By the way my mother is british.

  • @kinnoul123

A monster of ingratitude. It was not only his wives who suffered under him.

  • You do realize that while saying that you in fact made a really generalized comment, right?

  • how dare you! I'm American and I'm well educated in history, I even write historical novels.

  • Anne Boleyn was a great person. I believe that she should not have died. It is because of her that I got interested in history and now in college for my masters for it. She is an inspirational person.

  • See!? See what happens when you put a woman in charge!? You get the golden age!

  • At least they got a fast execution. In those days, it was unheard of. It sucks that she died, yeah, but it could have been worse.

  • Henry VIII was a FUCKING BASTARD. He betrothes Jane next day and marries her in 2 weeks!!!!!! WTF?????????

  • I never said he was a cool guy lol, no shit he was an asshole. Shit was different back then. But, like I said, it could have been MUCH worse. She could have been Hanged, drawn and quartered. At least it was with a sword. Fast and painless. Yeah, it was a shit deal either way you look at it, but it could have been worse.

  • Uh Elizabeth was 2 and hardly ever saw Anne as she had her own court at Hatfield so they were not close at all. That said, it doesnt mean there was any pain ELizabeth felt in later years for losing her mother and when she died they found a lcoket ring on her finger with her and Annes images inside.

  • Watching this made me very sad:(

  • WOW The Tudos Is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR beterrrr

  • of course it is. it features my future husband jonathan rhys meyers in the leading role. lol

  • lol

  • wow are you american by any chance?

  • WOW, how very sad. RIP Anne...

  • R.I.P Queen Anne!

  • it was very sad watching her with her daughter i was crying showing it and her minutes away from dying :'''''''''''''(

  • The person with the child Elizabeth is not Anne Boleyn!! Anne rarely ever saw Elizabeth!

  • @plutogirllovekj yes thats why the narrator says 'plays with her nurse'. And actually for a royal parent anne saw elizabeth a lot, a detail this programme got wrong.

  • what show is this from??

  • henry was cruel with anne, ANNE IS AWESOME!!

  • what show is this from?

  • Mary Boleyn is a straight out bitch

  • why? What did she do besides sleep with the king and die quietly in the country?

  • Obviously a woman who has any ambition and or opinion is a bitch [/sarcasm]

  • ...so tragic. But in better words; fucked up.

  • did anybody else know that the two wives of henry the eighths who were beheaded were related??

  • yes, they benn cousins

  • "henry even paid a houndred pounds for a french executioner" oh right, so Anne should be grateful to henry? lol. he has her EXECUTED, killed, a woman he once pretended to love, a woman who gave him a daughter who should once become a mighty Tudor Queen.

  • I thought Elizabeth was a redhead not a blonde.

  • red heads always start of blonde, and the red colouring matures at 4 or 5 years old

  • No they don't. I have two cousin's who are redheads and they were born with red hair.

  • hmm that's funny cause I myself have reddish hair, but in my baby pics I had blonde hair. The same with my sister, and the same with my mate who's slightly ginger but was blonde when he was a baby.

  • indeed, pretty ironic , isn't it? Btw the future queen who had her mother executed and run several times execution risks put at death her cousin Mary the same way. That's not because being good or bad people. That was just the way they can be at those times. It was a continuous war to succeed in succession.

  • the man who executed Anne was a french man good loyal friend of her.
