Actually you're right - not about the score, The main theme is one the best of recent years - but Yes, the movie was:

Average, it was generic, it had no personality; it was like all the fiction catering to the needs of alienated Nerds.

It served all of them the same schlock, like Bio-shock, BSG, HALO,the Matrix, Lotr, WoW, Deathnote, but with-out the pretensions and delusions of genius, and they tasted the truth - all of it is soulless.

It was terrible...terribly funny.

I really like the part that starts at 0:42, almost Western-like, and very reminiscent of the "sound" for the G.I. Joe cartoon! And therefor I ask why couldn't Alan Silvestri have included at least a brief few notes from the original theme as a wink to the fans?
