  • @340duhcota There was the Craftsman Router Crafter. I have a lamp that was made with it, 3 cuts to center over 18" or so main upright; made from black walnut.

  • Was this made on a lathe or a "Legacy" machine?(the one with all the gears and the router mounted on top, the wood is turned by a hand crank and the router moves down the length of wood on a set of tracks)

  • @mjdudman - Read the description above... This was hand turned to rough out and then the spiral grooves where cut using a router and the geared system on a Laguna Pinnacle lathe. You could also do this on a Legacy lathe as well.

  • looks like something a whore would love in her twat

  • Wow that was done by hand? Amazing...

  • That is cool & all & there is a nice description but it would be nice to actually see how it was made.

  • This one shows how it's done.

  • The center "spinner" was turned by hand to fit over the twisted spindle then drilled for hardwood dowels which intersect the spiral flutes. The inside of the dowels were rounded for a smooth action. Thanks for the comments on this piece. I will have to make a video next time I do a piece like this.

  • The spiral turning was done on a Laguna Pinnacle lathe. The Pinnacle lathe has an option for fluting and spiraling. The spiraling feature uses a router mount that moves the length of the bed while the headstock turns in unison to form the twist. A variety of router bits produces all types of results. Laguna Tools has a free DVD video demonstrating this lathe.

  • Yeah, show how you made this! :)

  • Great!

  • How about doing a demo video on how you did this? That would be neat. thanks
