  • Wonderful video. I had initially picked it out as wanted to see what the pit head end looked like at Foxfield as it claims to be steeper than 1 in 20. This seems to be from the junction with the main line up to the station. Is that correct? Went down there a couple of weeks and spoke to a few of the people around. They echoed my feeling that the connection down to the main line was now a very sorry state and was only used for a short storage section next to the station. When was the video made?

  • Yes, this is from the mainline up to the station - very rarely used so I was lucky in being invited onto the footplate. I filmed this a couple of years ago (2006). Great railway - really friendly - one of my favourites and yes, the section up from the pit head is steeper than 1 in 20 - it's actually 1 in 19- the steepest adhesion worked railway in the country.
