Well said miss. I live between Toledo / Cleveland and for sometime wanted to scope out the Coventry area. I dreamed for a chance to shake hands or break bread with the man if I could. I was reading splendor and some of his other collections for only about 4 years before his passing and have been an avid comic reader in general for years. I still plan to make the pilgrimage and plan to leave a doughnut beside his grave. Thank you Harv for leaving us with so much great work I've yet to discover.
Thanks for this, Anne Elizabeth. Most people didn't get that the "curmudgeon" was an act, and he was a real guy in real life. I wish I'd had a chance to know him better, but I'm grateful for the contact I had with him.
I think Gary Dumm (and of course Crumb) was his best artist that drew for his writing. "The Quitter" was very good but I didn't care for the art. R I P Harvey.
I love this lady....big crush.
