  • thanks for this video.

i was a childhood big fan of ''famous monsters'' and knew of forrest ackerman at the age of 7 or eight, about the time i began to read.....around 1960 or 61. it was a hot seller among the kids in my small town. rather than just look at the pic's the way most kids did, i read the stories. i was alway amazed to how they created film magic. it was forrey and his magazine famous monsters that influenced me greatly.

  • He was so wonderful! Fun and funny, smart and witty, just amazing. He's been an inspiration to so many. I was blessed to visit the Ackermansion. He let me try on Bela Lugosi's cape. Thank you, Forry!

  • RIP Forry

  • What a treat after church on Sundays when my dad took us to the local newspaper/stationary store and I was permitted to have the latest copy of Famous Monsters of Filmland which kept me happy for a full month until the next one came out. Or was that a bi-monthly?

  • Wow thanks so much for posting... Gods I wish I'd met this great man.

  • The Famousest MonsterFan of them all has passed into the Great Beyond ". . . . take me home little boy; you will love me..." was in my mind in 1959 when, at age 9, I saw my first FAMOUS MONSTERS of FILMLAND!

  • Sadly, Mr. Ackerman died at 11:58 Thursday night at the age of 92. He made it past his birthday in November.
