Why havent I heard of this?Im seeing there a shit load of obscure heavy 70s lps-never released on cd,or even cassettes.Rare stuff.Collector stuff.Im a fucking 70s and 80s fucking guru collector and I havent heard of a lot of these groups.Death of the mom and pop record stores. An era gone forever.
I thought, Pretty Soon I'll be gone On a long long way ride Say It was suicide I thought of poison. I stood in the rain with my electric guitar I put a Gun to my Head. I stood in the rain with my electric guitar On a long long way ride. I'll put a Knife into my heart. Say It was suicide. Pretty Soon I'll Be Gone.... Hard Rock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@puddelisa I think you got the lyrics a little wrong. Isn't it a long one way ride, tell your freinds not to call, say it was suicide? Well doesn't matter anyways its a sick song! \m/
This bands manager, producer, and lyricist was Kenny Kerner. Richie Wise was guitarist and vocalist. Wise and Kerner produced at least two early KISS albums. The drummer, Marc Bell, is better known as Marky Ramone of the Ramones.
If you guys like Dust, then check out the Rival Sons, they sound very familiar. This is one of the only bands from the 21st century that are actually a good old fashioned rock band
@mgorman15 Tommy had a stint in Richard Hell's Voidoids prior to the Ramones..and tried out for the NY Dolls when their drummer died in the UK (Jerry Nolan got the job)
@Tidefan2113 late 60s early 70s is where it all started at, it was the first for hard rock, thats what it was called back then check out BLUE CHEER they came out in 67-68
@Methrt3 Nope they're from the east coast here in the States. The drummer happens to be none other than MARC BELL! Who would later join The Ramones and become MARKY RAMONE!
This is song is absolutely amazing it seems that the 70's was a good time for decent music glad i found this at 4:36 in the morning, "Legend" inspired me to go searching
I forgot how great this song is. Decades has passed since the last time that I have heard this song. I just checked and I still own vinyl copies of this album and the self title album "Dust".
This band reminds me of Jethro Tull if they dropped the flute playing and grew a set of balls. And I'm not saying that in disrespect to Tull, they are a great band. It's like a hybrid of sabbath and jethro tull. Great stuff
@wabusy3 Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath fame played lead guitar for a spell with Jethro Tull. You can see him play with them on the Rolling Stone's Rock & Roll Circus movie.
@RossM3838 You definitly right ..... I did think that Marc & myself shared the same age !!!! What's stunning , back in those days , it's how young were these guys : another exemple Humble Pie average age ( Pie drummer Jerry Shirley was very very young too with great experience which we can call genious ) when they released "Rock'in the Fillmore" which remains so far ,the BEST live Rock Album EVER released !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marky Ramone came on to our radio show last year. Great guy. We rapped about the Dust years. I wanted to put out an album of Dust unreleased tracks but Marky said the vaults were empty. I"ll keep hoping.
