Everyone just shut up about religion before I punch someone in the face. Seriously every popular Christian band has at least one song with this argument. It is extremely frustrating that it is even an issue...if you don't like the Christian message, go away and forget about it, if you do like it, keep it to yourself too. I'm a Christian, but I hate the ones who get in arguments. It's like getting into argument with someone with straight D's, eventually both look like idiots.
@BBall0027 All I see is people trying to help xNystagmus see what he can't, that God isn't the mean, hateful ruler bent on destruction and misery. As a Christian you should know that we (Christians) are instructed by God to help others come to know Him. This, being a public forum, and the statements already having been made make it the perfect opportunity to be obedient to God. xNystagmus, RockinReiner and myself have not argued.

Satan or Lucifer) and HE started this all when he deceived Eve ( first woman ever ) into sinning (doing wrong against God) and when sin entered the world it couldnt be taken out, and God had to punish them. Since sin became our nature we are also punished with the disasters and diseases. The world was perfect when it was created.

So, if you want to deny God, then deny Him but don't berate or belittle those who do. @xNystagmus He allows all of these other religions to exist because He didn't create us to be robots. He created us with the free will to choose to follow Him or not. He is not "cruel" or "a bad god" as you put it. He is a just God that loves us enough to punish us when we do wrong, like your parents do to you. We're not perfect or holy enough to go to Heaven when we die. On our own we have no hope the only eternity we can look forward to is eternity in hell.
@xNystagmus But don't take my word for it, look it up for yourself and read it with your own eyes. Find a Bible ( also known as the Word of God ) and look up the verse John 3:16. That one verse explains how much God wants us to go to Heaven with Him when we die. We cant get there ourselves as I stated before, He gave us a way to get to heaven, all we have to do is accept it and take it. So, tell me how is a God who would give up His only Son a "cruel" or "bad god"? Seems like He cares very much.

And also the bible is meant to be taken in the figurative sense, as it was written by Jewish scribes who were on the verge of extinction and to convey the points of the stories they had been told by their parents and elders they had to use unrealistic quantities, events and powers. And the God you believe in is not the God of other larger religions, so what makes your God any more real than the Gods of other religions?

@tools4trade27 LOL, so its a shame that I don't believe in 1 out of 1,000,000 different religions, that you just happen to believe in? That's just hilarious. I'm not afraid of "hell". Would you be afraid, if a naked man walked up to you, and told you that if you didn't give him your money he was going to shoot you with the gun in his pocket? No. Because you see no gun. Its the same with "hell". I don't believe its there. So I'm not afraid of it. How could I be?

And how could a God possibly judge someone when they've allowed thousands of other religions to cloud his creations minds? Why allow other false religions to exist if it only means more people being punished? I won't believe in a God that would be that cruel. And if it does end up being true, I'll explain myself to this "God" and if he can't except my reasoning then he would be a bad god.

@xNystagmus He allows all of these other religions to exist because He didn't create us to be robots. He created us with the free will to choose to follow Him or not. He is not "cruel" or "a bad god" as you put it. He is a just God that loves us enough to punish us when we do wrong, like your parents do to you. We're not perfect or holy enough to go to Heaven when we die. On our own we have no hope the only eternity we can look forward to is eternity in hell.

@xNystagmus But don't take my word for it, look it up for yourself and read it with your own eyes. Find a Bible ( also known as the Word of God ) and look up the verse John 3:16. That one verse explains how much God wants us to go to Heaven with Him when we die. We cant get there ourselves as I stated before, He gave us a way to get to heaven, all we have to do is accept it and take it. So, tell me how is a God who would give up His only Son a "cruel" or "bad god"? Seems like He cares very much.

If you paid attention a little bit you would find that God lets these things happen to TEST us and our faith in Him, if your saved and you know your going to Heaven.. why be afraid? And also the bible is meant to be taken in the figurative sense, as it was written by Jewish scribes who were on the verge of extinction and to convey the points of the stories they had been told by their parents and elders they had to use unrealistic quantities, events and powers. And the God you believe in is not the God of other larger religions, so what makes your God any more real than the Gods of other religions?
