Excellent video a real Cracker . Very clear what and how things are to be done with good explanations and well lit throughout so shows up well on the laptop.
Only point he got wrong is saying to get all the air out, you don't want that much grease otherwise it can overheat, the grease liquidfies and runs out past the seal, then your left with no grease, overfilling a bearing is just as bad as no grease. and i've been doing bearing maintenance for 35 years.
Good consept on how to repack bearings should have mentioned about how to reinstall the race`s KEEP THE SLOPE OF THE RACE THAT THE BEARING SITS IN ALWAYS OUTWARDS BOTH SIDES ; TAP IN WITH DRIFT PUNCH ( CIRCULAR HITS ) UNTIL A SOLID FEEL OR RING IS DISCOVERED THE INSIDE BEARING SEAL IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL HOLD THE BEARING IN THE HUB WHEN INSTALLING.
Trick for installing new races. Cut 1/16 slot in old race with a dremel disc cutter. Use the race with the slot to tap in the new race. The slot will allow you to remove the tapper easily and you get a good seat to the bottom of the race housing. USE GOGGLES OR EYE PROTECTION WHEN USING THE DREMEL.
This is a great video - I did this for the first time with only instruction from this video - HOWEVER - there should be more instruction about putting the racer back. I started just tapping it in and realized I was in trouble with out the tool shown (and not explained) in the video. I had a PVC pipe just the right size to push in the racer.
Nice Job. I like the hammer to remove the bearing seal. In addition to using gas to remove the grease and clean the bearing, I use rubbing alcohol afterwards to remove any gas residue on the bearing.
Great job guys. This is the help video I was looking for !

Great video! That red grease is only for fresh water eh? I heard to always use the blue grease for marine.

"redish color indicates rust" not always the case, Wheel bearing grease comes in a number of colors red being one of them (normaly synthetic).
