I don't believe that John would grass on anyone. Firstly, it would be against his nature. Second, if he is a grass then why is he still getting sent to jail, surely a grass would make a deal to keep them out of jail. Also, police usually make deals with informants so they can get information to convict more serious criminals. There is no way that the police would make a deal with the top man (JHS) for information on criminals much further down the underworld pecking order.
