I love super hornet demo's, they always surprise me. The RAAF just got ours last year so i'm looking forward to seeing a lot more aussie demonstrations.
But can someone please tell me which hurts the most. Negative or Positive G's? I would think that Positive G's hurts the most and Negative would just give you a major headache?
@scupking They won't. It's not sutible for the close formations the Blue Angels do. The next plane for the Blues is likely to be the F-35 is about 10-15 years time.
All demo's should be flown this way. In 1987 the Blue Angels did their 3rd show ever in their "new" F-18's at Griffiss AFB, NY and the solo's were just above the phone lines. We stood on our car roofs and the jet blast when they went vertical right above us made me want that lifestyle badly! 23 yrs later I'm retired Air Force, F-15C and have been flying 777's the past 6 yrs. All thanks to the Blue Angels and their crazy demo back in 1987!
Had to freeze frame it at 1:37. Awesome! I really hope on comes to the UK this year. Wish they wouldn't play that cheesy rock music though. A plane like this doesn't need it.
The Sea Cadets is a Congressionaly approved Department of Defense Navy "Explorer" type program for children 13-18 years old with it's Navy League unit for 11-13. Think of it as the Boy Scouts Courtesy of the US Navy.
@SGadd87 Haha!! Probably wouldn't be a bad idea but we like to make our own. Don't think we've done a bad job with our Typhoon. It seems to get around the sky pretty well.
australia pick a good jet, this jet av good maneuverability witout thrust vectoring, also type " F-18E/F Super Hornet with 6500 pounds loadout demonstration! " here on youtube n see how this jet maneuvers wit a full payload, its pretty awesome..
Your right. The Super Hornet is the most agile fighter without thrust vectoring. However. I think you'll need to take another look at fighters with thrust vectoring. The slower they go the more maneuverability they can achieve! Super Hornets can't do power loops for example. But that may change soon. There are plans to install thrust vectoring nozzels on both the F-18E & F models.
That would be interesting, qould like to see a cgi dogfight between superhornets and those new russian fighters that everyones scared of. How bout Chris Pine for Maverick and thomas jane for Goose.
Of course, this video isn't about the Hornet, but instead the Super Hornet. When you really look at the differences between the two, you have to conclude that they are two different planes.
The Super Hornet is an awesome airplane. It's what the Hornet should have been all along.
You have to give it to the Navy; it was called the "Super Hornet" to convince congress that it was just an "upgrade" but it is in fact a completely new fighter.
The Super Hornet II is considered to be the stealthiest 4+ Gen fighter (i.e. not F-22/F-35) out there. I think TVC would be a great addition but from what I've read, the SH can already point its nose wherever it wants, pretty much whenever it wants. AFAIK, it's the only US fighter to "kill" an F-22 in mock dogfights
Woah, at 50 seconds in the Superhornet was pulling the same move i thought only Thrust Vectoring planes could do. In the right hands that plane will tear a new asswhole in a Su-35 or any of those new Sukoi Fighters.
Yeah..and US engine technology will only keep advancing while the russians will stagnate; GE and P&W are and will dominate the commericial and military engine market for decades. Heck, even the Russian and Chinese civil aviation companies are buying US engines.
i tell ya whats funny about this. i had my headphones on listening to this and i clicked the 7:05 on here and almost went deaf. That my friends is jet porn!
that second pass made me pause the video... and wipe up my keyboard.

Beautifully done!
Is this your best work?
I wasn't an early fan of the F-18E/F, but I am changing my tune.
This is in the same neighborhood as that F-18F in the Farnborough airshow video here on YT.

Close,
A F-16 Block 30 Aggressor Viper at Nellis scored a "kill"..of course it had to kill itself ("missiles"crossed paths in mid air) to get the kill.
