Actually, we don't use oil. It's mostly natural gas and coal.

There are cars that run on compressed natural gas though, just can't seem to get them in any "1st world" nations - even though they burn far cleaner than a car that burns gasoline.

Cars that run on compressed natural gas too are great, but not the definitive solution, natural gas will end a day or an other, just like oil.

Anyway, in Italy we have a lot of cars running on compressed natural gas, i had one of them some years ago. Yes they are cleaner, even an old car if burn gas is allowed to the cities's centre.

@Bullshithunter71 Well, I just wanted to say natural gas burns really clean, it's extremely abundant, andit's a lot cleaner than using electricity which often comes from coal.

I think this push toward electric is kind of silly, in my opinion. Generating, storing, then retrieving energy from a battery loses energy at every step. It's VERY energy intensive to use electric.
