@983215ljhlkadbspig6y Yeah, you're right. Maybe cause chess has a stereotype of being a nerdy game so all the cool people say naww let's watch poker cause it's a bit more bad ass.
Obviously taking the bishop with the knight, instead of the queen, is the most logical way to simplify the position and liquidate all the pieces.
It's a shame I've never seen, in my entire life, a chess match on TV, of any sort. Why is that? Is it not explicit enough? Do people have trouble seeing chess narratives? If the pieces exploded upon capture, would people be interested in televised chess? Why is TV poker so popular? It's just a bunch of rich half-wits throwing their money around...
@LynxCoding lol evidently because this wasn't the first time anand's opponent made a huge blunder. the last game in 1994 london credit suisse championship, Ivanchuk made the same mistake.
When did he make the comment on 'cracks... ' etc posthumous? A GM that is in the 2500 group i.e, a sub GM in my book vs. the greatest player who ever lived (2851) . everyone has a bad day
he lost against Kramnik after winning every torny he could, He lost to Topalov in his last game ever. but still won. I think DK is a commentator. Bit like a ball spotter in snooker.
@md65000 I'm sorry that I botter you but it seems like you know much from chess games. I have a few questions :D. Why do they play so fast? Whats the matter of playing so fast? xD It seems that they don't think while playing so fast. Last question is whay there are letters and numbers around the chessboard wathever it is called and what can we do with those numbers and letters. I like chess but what they do is like an hole new level or something.
@WarLord hi, this is 'blitz' chess. It's fast compared to classical. The players have only a few minutes to make ALL their moves so must move very quickly to avoid losing on time. It's exciting b/c they are therefore more likely to blunder or not play as accurately as they would if they had longer to consider the position
The numbers and letters allow the commentators to easily identify which squares the pieces have moved to making it easier for the viewer to understand. Best wishes!
ONE horror blunder in 20 years of total world chess domination isn't bad. For most chess fans (and for most masters too i must add judging by their comments) kasparov WAS and still IS the best , despite his, "retirement".
It's funny how the greater the player, the more weak, talentless people come out of the woodwork like vultures whenever they slip up. That's why there's so much hatred of Carlsen in the chess fan community. Kasparov is the greatest player ever, undisputed. Carlsen could eclipse him, it remains to be seen. Weak haters are everywhere.
@IndrasBlade77 Yeah, it's not like anyone admires Kasparov or thinks he's the greatest player of all time! All anyone does is criticize him! Same with Magnus--he's never been called "the Mozart of chess." Not once!
retard, any top GM can play blindfolded. they all have very good photographic memory. your idea that only anand has that or that anand outplayed kasparov in this game are both wrong. try educating your dumbass before making stupid comments.
Kasparov obviously cheated at speed chess touching the pieces before his opponent punched the clock. Irina Crush became very upset with Anna Zatonskih for using this same tactic. Sad....
@thechessstick This is not cheating. The laws state that a player must always be allowed to stop his own clock, so what typically happens is you get White move, Black move, White clock-Black clock, or such. Furthermore, Krush was angry because of the format of deciding the U.S Women's Championship and the fact that pieces were spilled without being reset, and that Zatonskih IIRC was moving with one hand, and clocking with the other, which is strictly illegal.
@Blirith If you stop your own clock while it is your turn to move and you have not moved a piece yet it is tantamount to resigning. And too bad about Zatonskih being allowed to cheat. Krush should have officially protested. That was cheating.
@thechessstick While as you say, stopping the clocks is a form of resignation these days, it is typically followed with a verbal affirmation: stopping the clocks on its own often simply preindicates someone going to the arbiter for assistance for example. In timetrouble or blitz, move/move/clock/clock is a common sight. IIRC, Krush did protest, and the result stood, but things were drastically overhauled the following year for obvious reasons :)
Very cool, but they should keep the game always in a corner so you can follow. First time I listen to chess commented as in football! Too fast for me!

Even though Kasparov blundered, you have to admire his ability to create problems on the board with just a tiny initiative. He is truly an amazing player. To quote Joe Rogan, "That guy is my hero!"
@SeedsofJoy Looking at 4:53 (you'll have to pause it as it fades out) Anand moves his rook to e1. Kasparov decided to take the bishop on e3, and Anand responded with Qxg4!, attacking 3 pieces at once (rook on c1, bishop on g7, and queen on e3). Bad mistake on Kasparov's part, and Anand completely capitalized on it. Hope this helps!
