  • Thank you from New Zealand!

  • What exactly is issue-spotting? What would be a simple example where this is done?

  • @Hotmonkeylovin

A 'simple' example would defeat the purpose of what issue spotting actually is

but here you go: A killed B. What's the issue? Whether A is liable to B for murder.

  • @funincluded I think I understand

  • My uni really doesn't give us A's..no matter how hard we work..that will definiitely affect my GPA..should I transfer to another uni? My aim is to study in the US for graduate school in a top university.

  • I am a practicing psychologist and I have 3 businesses. So, I dont think that entering law school and being a lawyer is motivated by money. Where I come from... people just go to jail because they dont have the money to pay good lawyers. People suffer mental trauma because they feel neglected and could not even see the shadow of justice. I dont mean to sound like a good guy or anything but these people need help. And if I can..... why not?

  • @butring Unfortunately your in the minority.. although I commend your empathy for the drowntrotten, money makes the world go around well esp america. And money is a main motivation for many law students...though in an ideal world law students should have the vendetta to further the cause of justice. However the legal system is intself filled with ineqaulites esp for black

  • im already 30 years old. A Practicing psychologist. Can I still enter law school? Isnt it too late for me to enter law school?

  • No, it isn't too late. Many go to law school who are not just out of college. But think carefully about why you want to do it. Think about your conscious reasons and perhaps other factors that may motivate you. Are there any "shadows" at work? Law school is very expensive and jobs are scarce now (1/'10) though that could change. Talk to any lawyers you know about it and any law students if you can. John

  • im a undergrad what do i need to do to get accepted to a good law school? does my major really matter?

  • I believe that college grades, especially from strong colleges, coupled with strong LSAT performance drive acceptances.

Law schools talk about other things but I think it comes down mostly to such grades and LSAT performance.

I must add, however, that although I'm not ignorant of the admission process, I never served on an Admissions Committee and am therefore not expert about it. John Delaney

  • Starting Law School in the fall. This is absolutely excellent advice.

  • Great advice from a great professor.

  • I will be beginning my legal career this coming fall as a first year law school student. To be quite honest, I am intimidated about what lies ahead. I have read both of Professor Delaney's books, which came highly recommended from a friend and now feel more confident that the exams are now somewhat demystified by his willingness to share his extensive knowledge of the dreaded exam process.

  • No one going to law school has been to law school. Most students have similar fears. When I started decades ago, I was scared too. The challenge is not to hide out but to respond positively to get on the right path, as detailed initially in this video, so that your time and energy are well spent in coping with the different law school classroom and the very different law school exams. If you do so, you are dealing with your fear in a way that helps you. I hope my videos help.
