I really appreciated this skit. I grew up in a 3rd world country where everyone is poor and a minority are very rich. I came from a very wealthy background and instead of sending me to the rich school (fees were about 20k AUD/year) Dad sent me to a local school (for roughly $40 AUD/year). It was to make sure i appreciated what i had. Anyway, i still got into (uai requirement for my course was 97.5) and graduated from Sydney university (not easy with overseas qualifications). not bad i say.
Funny cos my brother went to shore and hated the rowers. It's a nice school and everything but really, they worship their rowers like gods. Gods with weird ass tans.
There is no way he went to Somalia. Anyone who knows about how the U.S. and Ethiopia started a war there, knows it is the most unstable conflict in the world right now.
@satojinnthehero I am talking about the 2006 Ethiopian invasion of Somalia. The Ethiopians invaded with U.S. Backing. We sent the cia to "interrogate" prisoners, our navy was sent to block of a retreat from the U.I.C, and we used ac-130 gunships and tomahawk cruise missiles to support the Ethiopians. Ever since then, there has been about a million more Somali refugees and life is far, far worse than it has been since the early 1990s.
@BillysAutomotive nice to see you understood though. that was exactly their aim, to make sure people are able to see whats really important and who really need help. quite profound really.
@BillysAutomotive The point isn't actually that they're taking money from poor people, it is that the private school is taking money from us when we should be giving it to the people in poverty!
They did finally build a new rowing shed. A touching story.

I love this. I'm a rower, so it was even more funny.
On a serious note, the majority of rowers at my school are intellectuals. Maybe that's why we never win...

That is one of my favourite ever chasers skit because it doesn't only insult some rich school it also has a strong message!

@NorthernSoul92 Yeah I know, but I just couldnt see the hilarity in taking money from people who will die in the next few years from extreme hunger..
I still love the chasers and all :)

I actually think that this is the greatest segment the chaser has ever done.
It is such a hugely important point they made here about how people need TO GET THEIR FUCKING PRIORITIES STRAIGHT.
