  • Americans seems to mistrust the wrong people

  • thought the table was a big hat.

  • that "conference table" looks like a hot tub.

  • @instereovideos Totally! They probably take the cover off and climb in after the show.

  • Excerpts from the Department of State's website "Also, a person who is automatically granted another citizenship does not risk losing U.S. citizenship."

  • He's right. Obama is no more qualified to run a country than any other two-bit street crook. He was put there by corrupt Chicago cons and elevated to the highest office in the land by sheer celebrity worship and ignorance of the masses who watch "American Idol" and ignore the news. Now he's facing issues he's not nearly competent to handle and we are all going to pay the price.

  • No more qualified to run a country than a street crook!? I hope that's meant to be hyperbolic.

I agree that many are making a personality cult out of Obama, but you should realize that Hitchens supported Obama in the election, found him to be far more competent than a McCain/Palin ticket, and supports his general policy towards Pakistan and the Taliban. I voted for Obama because I found him to be more competent than a ticket that coupled senility with religous stupidity of the lowest caliber.

  • No hyperbole at all, Pelosi's puppet, Obama is an incompetent lying socialist Chicago hood with no experience at anything other than scamming, has no record of anything successful or worthwhile other than preventing Hillary from becoming president. He didn't even show up half the time in the senate and typically voted "present" even then. McCain is an anticonstitutional skirt chasing fraud, but at least has some experience. I voted a write in. No more republicrats, EVER!

  • That someone (Hitchens or you, or any other sucker) would vote for an incompetent Marxist Chicago street crook says more about you than the moron you voted for. The fact remains that Obama has spent 6 months now proving his extreme incompetence, enslaving our great great grandchildren by quadrupling the debt, and socializing the auto, insurance, banking, investment, and housing industries just to put them under control by his crooked buddies. He's already the worst president in history by far.

  • @reasonableHUMAN I believe this was filmed before he changed his mind, when he was openly saying that Sarah Palin couldn't be taken seriously.

  • @anikinippon it was filmed after Obama was elected. I agree with reasonableHUMAN: making a person into some kind of superhuman is wrong, even though idolisation is part of American political culture. This was Hitchens point I believe. And it's not just Obama, see how Republicans worship Reagan and have build a cult around him to keep people from questioning his integrity and his policies even though this would be the natural and obvious thing to do.

  • @Melvin6566842 I agree on your points as well.

  • Get over it ! The masses are deluded and your'e in the minority of the enlightened? Well good for you. This is a democracy and we still get to choose as a country whomever we want to lead us even if the more enlightened and intelligent minority disagree. So see you at the ballot box in about 3 and a half years. GOD bless you and GOD bless this country.

  • Another reason I'm atheist is so many idiots making up the deluded masses who can't comprehend the constitution and so don't even notice when they vote for those intend on it's destruction. No, this is NOT a democracy, it is a constitutional republic. Read a little and stop worshiping the magic words of your beloved celebrity political figures. And you'll see me at the polls in one and a have years, you dolt, if we still have elections.

  • I pity you my friend who has shown yourself as a very insecure individual. You seem to get satisfaction from calling people who you don't agree with names but that's ok. I will argue with you regardless though, for my benefit of learning so much more from u and ur vast knowledge in politics, life and philosophy. I implore u to divulge all you can in ur enlightened world to this minho about the timing of our destruction by our new boogie man president? Cuz if he does I wont see u on election day?

  • I'm secure. I just have sense enough to see what's happening. You are blinded by both your willful ignorance and your emotions, unable to see reality because you love the celebrity. I suggest you read the constitution and see what you are throwing away.

  • You are too smart for me and in order for my brain not to explode from all the knowledge your dropping on me I will surrender to your superiority in intelligence. I hope the elections come around again so u can get what u wish, take care.

  • This is NOT a democracy, you brain dead ignoramous. If you read a little instead of wasting your remaining bran cells on sitcoms and republicrat sound bites you'd know that.

  • Why don't you go do what u do best and have sex with one of your family members and stop wasting what's left of your pea brain trying to converse with me?

  • "Converse"? No, I'd never attempt to converse with one so intellectually limited. I was trying to correct you. But you are obviously committed to further making a fool of yourself so I wont stand in your way.

  • Thanx and good riddance asshole

  • Keep dancing.... :)

  • I promise to do that on your grave as per your request

  • Do you really think I'll care? I have my burial policy with BFI. I really don't care what is done to or with the remains after I'm gone. Feel free to put my head on a stick it it amuses you. I'll neither know or care.

Honestly, I am flattered that I mean that much to you.

  • Thanx for appreciating the thought I put into wishing your horrific demise, because some people don't know how to say thank u like u do. I almost wanna cry!

  • All of what you said is bull. We already paid the price with bush so it can only go uphill from here.

  • As said but the germans in 1933....

I noticed you call it bull but can't refute any of it. Typical. Go back to your TV and let those of us who know what's going on handle things, boy.

  • The economy got shitty under bush. People only believe what you belive if they hate black people and non neo nazi conservatives

  • Like I said, you can't refute anything. Making up racism as an argument isn't even a good attempt.

And you'll never see me trying to defend the last sleaze bag. But since you missed it, Bush has been gone for 6 months while the current crop of crooks have quadrupled the debt and hijacked everything they can and are trying to impose more Marxist scams on us. You should learn some history before using words you don't understand. Nazis were fascist, identical to the current set of republicrats.

  • Lol right since we all know that their aren't any white racists in this country who hate the President.

  • Of course there are, just as there are black racists who love him. What difference does any of that make? It doesn't change the fact that he's an incompetent marxist puppet of Pelosi and they are destroying what's left of the constitution for theor own agendas and using Hitler's 1933 game plan to take full control. You don't have to be racists to oppose that. But you do have to be ignorant of history and blind to reality to support him.

  • You have to be racist or stupid to think Obama is Hitler or that 2009 is the same as 1933

  • Obama has neither the brains or the experience , and certainly not the commitment to his ideals to be a Hitler. As evil as Hitler was, he was a very smart kook and entirely committed to his cause. Obama is an empty suit, and flashy airhead, a mindless puppet of Pelosi and her ilk who are using Hitler's 1933 game plan. They know history even if you don't. Only someone without a clue or an argument would try to make a racist issue out of noting the facts. Pretty pathetic of you.

  • lol it must suck to be this angry.

  • What sucks is to see so many people in my country so eager to throw away out freedom and trash the constitution because they are too stupid from watching TV and listening to FM and have no clue about what's going on in the world or of history. If they can get a "free" nickle, they don't care who gets stuck with the dept or if the country in under invasion or anything else. Everybody want to sell their rights for a handout. That sucks.

  • Typical pseudo-intelligent gasbag. You know what's going on? That's a laugh.

Firstly, you need to have a warrant with some degree of proof before you demand that it be refuted. I don't see diddly squat from you. Spare the insults and come back when you have substance. You arguments fell down like a pack of cards the moment you pronounced Obama as the worst president in history.

  • Your ignorance of history is noted for the record. And your reaction was expected as it's typical of what happens when an atheist notes the flaws if a believer's god.

No one can require you to refute anything, particularly what you clearly couldn't refute if you wanted to. But one would think think that if you could, you would. Your position is religious, not rational. The debt alone makes him the worst. Also degradation of the constitution over the last 6 months. And bowing to dictators.

  • Funny analogy. Typical veneer for someone trying to pass off as intelligent. I am aethist for the record.

You've provided no premises for your arguments, just claims and insults. With your implied expertise, how about giving everyone an alternative plan to solve the present problem? I suppose you ought to start taking some philosophy courses and learn how to argue while you are at it.

  • Several solutions are possible for the current problem. Impeachment for repeatedly violating his oath to the constitution is one. Another might be a constitutional challenge to his supposed citizenship. His college records claim he is a citizen of Indonesia. Clearly if that's true he's an illegal alien. If it's not true then he lied to get aid as a foreign student. Either way he's a criminal.

And I did offer facts to support my claims. Read the thread.

  • The President an illegal immigrant? That is a laugh. A crash course in Criminology will cure that conspiracy theory. I'm from Canada and Criminology and Psychology are the degrees I'm pursuing. The reason I mention it is because I've had the opportunity to witness first hand, the level of security clearance involved in various stages of the government system and I imagine the US will be a lot tougher.

  • I'm not saying he is, but he certainly appears to be. He has lied so many times about it. His first posted 'birth certificate' was a 'faked certificate of live birth'. His second posted one had no sigs or seals and used laser print and fonts that didn't exist until the 90s. His grandmother in Africa claims she was there in Kenya and witnessed his birth, and Indonesia claims he is a citizen of that country. And one needs no clearance to be elected president in the US.

  • It is highly improbable, bordering impossible that the President of your country would be sworn in with dubious origins.

I'm also pretty certain that economics is not your area of expertise and neither is it that Obama is solely behind all the economic planning.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the tax increases were proposed for those making over $250,000 a year. ..

  • That "proposal" was one of many campaign promises he has broken. The taxes they are talking about hiking affect everyone, particularly the poor. He's a pathological liar.

And when you have a media and court system hell bent on installing a radical and unwilling to address any issue lest they be called racist, and no opposing party, you could do pretty much anything, including installing an illegal alien Marxist puppet as president.

  • I just read all comments posted by you to this video and there is not a shred of fact to support any claims. I see a lot of labels assigned and insults thrown in .... nope, no facts.

  • See above. What is questionable? That he's taken over the auto industry? The banks? That he wants to impose an unconstitutional socialist healthcare scam on us? That he has no record of success and didn't show up half the time as senator? That his birth certificate that his staff posted, was faked? ALL of those are facts. With the very limited characters in these posts there's not room for links but it's easy to verify any of that that you might question.

  • Take your own advice and learn to read first.

I claimed he has been quadrupling the debt, and socializing the auto, insurance, banking, investment, and housing industries just to put them under control by his crooked buddies. What of that is questionable? Those are simply facts. I said he is is an incompetent lying socialist Chicago hood with no experience at anything other than scamming, has no record of success, didn't even show up half the time in the senate. Look it all up.

  • Once again you fail to understand the basic notions of fact and claim. 'Quadrupling debt' - claim .. where are the sources for that? Missing fact. 'Fake birth certificate' - claim ... where is your source for that? Missing fact.

Honestly, read up on philosophy. It will help you structure supported premises and conclusions rather than tot up conspiracy theories from unverified sources. That is truly what happens when you watch mindless crap on TV. It's ironic that oyu blame others for it.

  • I understand it well. You apparently have a serious comprehension problem. Are you really that ignorant of current events or are you just trying to demand citations for anything and everything that's been in the news for months and which any moron could google, and in 500 characters or less, just so you can pat yourself on the back thinking you made some point? Those are indeed facts. Google them. Do you need help figuring out google too?

  • I'm sure it has, isn't that why the President is under investigation and is days away from being impeached. No wait, he isn't. This is where people who listen to conspiracy theories and don't look for proof of it fail. I've googled the controversy long before and have yet to find a reputable, credible source showning any story or proof about it.

Bias only shows you what you want to see and if moron wants to find fairytales, google will give it to him. That however, does not make it true.

  • Assuming you are referring to his fake birth certificate, your finding it reputable is what we call "opinion", which is unrelated to fact. The facts are:

    A) The first "birth certificate he posted when the issue first came up was absolutely fake, apparently made from an altered copy of his sister's, and wasn't even a birth certificate but a "certificate of live birth".

    B) The birth certificate he eventually posted was pristine as if never folded and stored in nitrogen. AND.. Continued...

  • And the birth certificate from 1961 was printed on laser print with fonts that didn't exist for another three decades.

    C) Obama's grandmother in Africa still claims she was there at his birth in Kenya, where the government of Kenya has enshrined his birthplace.

    D) Indonesia considers Obama a citizen of Indonesia, having been adopted by his Indonesian stepfather.

    E) The DNC filed suit to stop the suit which asked nothing more than for Obama to demonstrate his citizenship.

    Continued...

  • I could go on. But the FACT remains that his citizenship IS in question and the courts and the pop media refuse to address it. Berg has stated flat out that he'd drop everything if Obama would just release the records. He still refuses.

Of course, one possibility is that he is a citizen and wants to see his detractors make fools of themselves before releasing anything. But the media and and the DNC and even the GOP are seriously going out of their way to make sure nobody questions it.

  • Clearly this cannot be addressed in 500 characters at a time. So it's pretty obvious that those demanding details as if unable to use google or read the news are just doing so to avoid the issues. while claiming they are presenting arguments.

  • On the contrary, credibility and reputability goes a long way to prove a case.

The Supreme Court has already reviewed and dismissed the case and it only takes common sense to garner that they have access to better information than biased political opponents.

Honestly, do you really think your country's security and legal process is that incompetent?

  • Yes, I think they have long proven to be that incompetent and that crooked. There is no mandatory process for candidates to prove citizenship, it's never been an issue before. And because he's black nobody wants to touch it and be labeled a racist or suffer retaliation by his party which controls the government. So it's ignored. Why would the DNC spend the time and money to challenge the suit except to keep something hidden?

  • Also, the birth certificate image which was posted is a short copy of the original. It is the only kind the State of Hawaii will release due to laws protecting privacy. I imagine all those questioning his citizenship are privy to the same image and nothing more. Last I heard, it's innocent until proven guilty and not the other way around.

Further, there are tapes of a phone conversation online with his grandmother where she says he was born in Hawaii.

  • The first he posted was shown to be bogus and not even a birth certificate. The second one (still on his page, see for yourself), could not have been made before the 1980s. His grandmother, his brother, his sister, and the government of Kenya have all said and still maintain that he was born in Kenya. Indonesia still claims he is a citizen of Indonesia. If they are correct, if he was adopted and is a citizen of a foreign country, then he's an illegal alien. It's enough to demand proof.

  • And innocent until proven guilty is in criminal cases. Other than being an illegal alien no such assusations have been made. He's not being charged with a crime, but only being asked to prove he's a citizen. I don't that that's at all unreasonable for anyone to be president of the USA. His refusal to do so it cause for concern to any rational thinker, particularly given the rather large collection of evidence that he isn't.

  • Like I said, this has already been reviewed by the Supreme Court, he has posted a short copy of his birth certificate which has been verified by the State of Hawaii ... I do not see why he has to go further out of his way to prove it to people who really don't want to consider proof.

  • It was never shown as bogus, in fact it was authenticated by the State of Hawaii. I've listened to a tape of a conversation with his grandmother which can also be found online and she's said via a translator that he was born in Hawaii. Conflicting evidence can easily be found which is where credibility comes into play. If Indonesia grants him citizenship, how does that make him an illegal alien? Do you not know the citizenship laws of your own country?

  • The first copy posted on his page was clearly faked. The second document, the one still there, is meaningless, it could not be older than 10 years or so, and with obvious alterations. It could still be a recent replacement copy made by the state, but that one doesn't have any certification. And that was NOT authenticated by the State of Hawaii. Two state officials have claimed they saw the original, however. Seems rather unofficial and pointless. Obama could just show it. Continued...

  • How is the first copy fake? The images posted are short copies so ofcourse they are new.

It continually seems that there is no pleasing detractors. Court decisions, short copies of forms even a Supreme Court review and people are not pleased?

  • Yes it's a short copy, that's one issue. Even if you accept it as a valid copy it leaves you wondering why it's the short copy and the actual birth certificate is still hidden. I don't believe it for a second, but one speculation is that Malcolm X is his real father. Such secrecy feeds such things. But even as a short copy, it's clearly been altered. Download it and see for yourself. I know a little about the subject and I noticed it was fake immediately. So did many others. Continued...

  • And court decisions in such cases are political. The challenge by the DNC is really odd. Why would they do that? Why spend the time and money to help Obama keep his birth certificate and college records secret unless there's something they don't want the public to know about their candidate?

Look, if I had to bet on it, I'd put my money on his being born in Hawaii. But I'm far from convinced and I think leaving such a question open for someone in the oval office is simply wrong. Continued...

  • His college records are another thing. If the claims are correct, if Obama was registered as a citizen of Indonesia, as a foreign student on a US government grant, then that absolutely would make him either a foreigner or a criminal committing fraud, or perhaps both. And that too remains hidden. Why?

If he were a republican and or conservative, or even white, the press would haven been demanding these questions be answered since he announced his intention to run and you know it.

  • "Court decisions, short copies of forms even a Supreme Court review and people are not pleased?"

Nope... why should I be pleased with proof of proof without ever actually see the original proof? Why spend hundred of thousands in legal fees instead of just producing an original birth certificate?

That's my question for you.. all these crazy conspiracy theories aside by 'birthers,' simply answer me this... what one logical reason could you have to not show your original birth certificate?

  • @IaoGawd

Because the outraged and ignorant voice of the many does not bestow an obligation on the few who are within their rights.

And because it wouldn't shut them up anyways. And indeed, didn't.

  • From what I have been told (I am Canadian so I don't know for real) it would take about a week for him to get the full form to display. The "new" short copy you speak of could not have been issued to him as they only started issuing them recently. Correct me if I am wrong as I am only looking for the truth.

Using the supreme court as evidence really should hold no weight with anyone. They have misinterpreted the constitution into ruin.

  • The Adoption issue, I agree, is pretty vague. If (I know, big IF), he surrendered his US citizenship (assuming he had it in the first place) it would have had to be after age 18. Some say his renewing his Indonesian passport after age 19 would do just that, but I think it would depend on the wording of the document.

My point is that he is clearly hiding something and for someone to hold office as president, we should demand the transparency he promised that he is certainly not delivering.

  • How perceptive of you to see the Global Conspiracy!

What brand of tinfoil best keeps the satellite waves from stealing your thoughts?

  • I'm sorry, but I'm atheist and don't practice your religion. Ask your pastor.

  • Presumptuousness is the hallmark of the pseudo-intelligent crowd. I am not American and not religious so really, this doesn't affect me.

I do however have a passion for analyzing people. So far all you've done is claimed conclusions with no premises to fact to back it up. If my weakness is history then yours is philosophy. Try structuring a better argument with more matter than insults and maybe I'll take it seriously.

  • Also, I'm not an Obama supporter or opposer. I'm merely a bystander giving him time to do what he thinks he should before I make up my mind about him.

Jumping to conclusions is typical of a biased mind, isn't it?

  • When it comes to my freedom and my wallet, and particularly the freedom of my children and grandchildren, yes I am absolutely biased. One would have to be pretty foolish not to be. He's already blown so much money and unconstitutionally seized control over so much of the private sector and trying to further burden us with more socialist scams that we cannot possibly ever recover from. You want to let him do more?

  • I like Hitchens on most issues, except his eager beaver desire for waging aggressive war. Hes indeed a contrarian, & some times I think he takes a stand just to piss off his liberal friends. Sending Christian armies into the middle east was clearly never going to work, and it hasn't.

The reality is that the Iranian leadership are only concerned with their own position of power, and not in nuking any body else. Every thing they do or say is to convince their own people they must remain in power.

  • If you want to stop terrorism, then stop acting like terrorists.

As an Anglo/Iraqi married to an Iranian. I can tell you Iran has not attacked a country in 300 yrs, and every thing the unpopular Iranian leadership does is to keep it in power.

I think we are all familiar with the concept of an outside threat is the best way to keep the people on side.

Christian based armies in Muslim lands is a recipe for disaster, Oh just look the the world, what a surprise.......

    I'm right.

  • If you are not a terrorist-supporter stop equating the desperate attempts of democracies to keep the world functioning with the attempts of deluded islamic radicals to destroy it.

What is your solution? To give the Islamic republic the bomb? To let Hisbollah and Hamas drive "the Jews" into the sea?

If you seriously believe this is all a conspiracy to "keep people in line" you are part of the problem.

  • As I just said the Iranian Leadership has no interest in attacking the west. Theyre only interested in continuing the Revolution, & remaining in power.

They appear tuff on Israel to remain popular. A relative of mine served on an Iranian British built warship sunk near port in1988 by the US Navy at the time the corrupt Shah was over thrown. The Shah was put on the thrown by the US in a coup deposing the elected government. Thats what you get for continuess interfeering, a dreadful theocracey.

  • @LouisPlume

I think everyone would be fine if everyone of all race and religions, can walk the streets in Islamic countries without the threat of being blown up by some idiot. You know? the same way you get to do you're shopping on the weekend without looking over you're shoulder for a bomb. I am guessing you live a free peaceful life in the west do you not?

  • We are all part of the problem I agree. Clearly bombing the fck out of countries doesnt work either.

Hezbollah and Hamas are not capable of driving Israel any where. My solution in regards to Israel is to switch off the money supply, making the Zionist Zealots isolated and letting Secular Israel move forward.

Remember Hamas were set up by Israel and Arab nationalism that grew after WW2 was defeated by Imperialism leaving a vacuum for Islam.

Its time to stop acting like terrorists.

  • While I partly agree with you, the armies sent by the west are not "christian based armies", they are entirely secular and none have made or will make any attempt what so ever to convert anyone there from or to any religious dogma. This isn't the middle ages. In spite of the rhetoric by muslim fanatics, there is no crusade on our part. There is on their parts, however.

  • "Sending Christian armies into the middle east was clearly never going to work, and it hasn't."

Wow I didn't know the United States army was specifically Christian. I thought it was, like, a bunch of people not legally required to be of any religion at all.

  • True, they're not legally required to be Christians, but they more than likely are. According to polls as much ast 70-75% of Americans claim to be believing Christians, and there's nothing to suggest that the make up of the armed forces won't reflect that also. Although I support the view that the original statement about Christian Armies is essentially a meaningless statement.

  • I like the term "clusterfuck", fitting.

If the "liberal stance" involves exposing the young generations (the majority there) to rock'n'roll, consumer culture and the pleasures of self-chosen relationships, I'm all for it. I'd call it culture-war;)

I see a combined strategy as necessary, most important is the awareness that we are in something like a new cold war: "the long struggle" basically between modern rights-based democracy and the leftovers of the middle ages.

  • Hitchens is a realist. The strategic and economic importance of the Middle East requires constant supervision. Period.

  • Or Mother Terasa. ...Oh wait he already has, and he was right!

  • As much as support Hitchens.. I can't help but remember his last war-themed oppinions.. something about needing to invade Iraq. How did that turn out?

Although I do think Obama should probably tone down the flare by the time he's sworn in. In the very least, it gives ammo to his detractors.

  • watch the first half of the hitchens vs hitchens debate

  • Hitchens appears to be fear mongering. 1) While I do see the blind faith some place in him, most people I know see the flawed humanity in BHO. A person who promised more than he can deliver. 2) Does Iran threaten the U.S. populous or just the Zionists?

  • does this make hitchens a racist? i can't really tell these days...

  • why would it?

  • People need to cool down the criticism on all the parting and celebration for Obama; It's getting people interested in politics. And we have every god damn right to par-tay after the past 8 years.

  • obama cult??

what about the flag cult the baptist

    the white men huddling together

what about this fear you have of this educated black male

and his vocal wife that sends you confused and interwebbed.

look at the america of today and realise obama is the one positive we can draw from your ignorant backwards culture.

do that then speak of nukes and killing you are savages and deserve what you wish on others i pity you not you are the enemy from within.

  • NUKE 'EM ALL AND LET THE FSM SORT 'EM OUT

  • Yes, but FSM would send all the Fundies and war mongerers to hell.

  • Correction- not hell, antipasto.

  • Blasphemer!!! FSM clearly says there's a hell.

You must be one of these Alfredo Reform Church heretics!

    SPLITTERS!!! SPLITTERS!!!

  • What the hell is Hitchens thinking? Didn't he notice the "Obama cult" issue BEFORE endorsing him?

  • compared to McCain, he's like Abe lincoln !!!!!

  • I want to see your face when you wake up one day.

No, compared to McCain, he's like one of these televangelists. But he has a great potential to be a really big honcho dictator. Not sure if during the first term, but definitely during the second one, at the beginning, he will try to consolidate his power by purges of anyone in his party that would threaten to replace him in the third term (yes third term, what's the Constitution... "just words", look up his opinion about the Constitution).

  • Wow, your ability to understand rhetoric is amazing. You think he was saying the constitution was "just words?" I don't know how that's even possible.

  • I do not espouse the concept of "living constitution" (e.g. constitution as framed originally is obsolete and needs to be modified to go with times), BHO does. At least... there is an interview from about 2000 where he uses that concept and explains it. So yea, because it's his opinion that constitution is out of sync with times, it's "just words".

How does one go about changing constitution? Two ways:

    1. Constitutional crisis

    2. Suspension and replacement

Possible if people let it happen.

  • Of course the constitution wasn't made perfectly. There is a procedure for changing the constitution in the constitution.

  • This was our worst election in decades, if not centuries, and the blame falls on the primary system that put up two enormously unappetizing candidates. On the one hand, we had a Bushite Republican who had to nominate a nitwit to solidify his own party behind him; on the other, we had an overt demagogue with weak respect for the rule of law. I'm very worried; unless I'm quite mistaken, we will need new leadership in four years. I'm reluctantly forced to hope it will be readily apparent.

  • can you post the whole thing? thanks!

  • The concept of being a victim of ones own success is a real one. Obama has been placed so high on the pedestal there seems only 1 direction for him to go now.

2ndly, I watched Obama's acceptance speech that night, and I can't help but feel we've just elected a preacher and we're all his flock. I saw some faces in the crowd which looked already prepared to drink the cool-aid for the dear leader.

I'm glad Hitchens picked up on this point because it certainly wasn't lost on me.
