hey! I'm also playing FF8 w/ my xperia play. I have a problem, tho. I can't seem to get the same video and audio quality as yours even though I already did what you said regarding the configurations.. Can you help me?

The thing is, unlike u, I didn't purchase my fpse. I downloaded it from google. I hav the v.11.. And i got my ff8 rom from doperoms.com.. It was an ecm file so I jst unecm'd it. no problem w/ the gme though.

Do u have any suggestions so I cud hav the sme quality as urs? thanks..

ehm.. i want to ask about the multi-disc that used in final fantasy 8, can the emulator in xperia play (fpse) handle the multi-disc. for the example, the disc 1 iso wil end soon, will there be a warning that must open disc 2 file? or something else. thank you..

@TheGatsin FPSE has an option to load the next disk in the menu options for multi-disc games

Hey, now i have the xperia play, but ff8 isnt running. i have made the iso's from my ps1 game, but its just not starting, its running till the playstation logo and then just stops. no problems with ff 7 though. i read somewhere that i need to patch it. how did u do it?

@sr43ezh is your BIOS file from the same region as your game? That's the only thing I can think of, unless your iso is corrupt.

i think so, but gotta check it again. Maybe there's the fault, i'm using ultraiso to make the iso/img/bin (tried it all), so the copys should be fine.

FF8's one of the handful of games that I will never get tired of. This brings back memories. I think I might get an Xperia Play early next year. I have the game both on PC and PS1; played it on my PC a while ago but didn't like it because of the keyboard thing (and my computer chair's not very comfortable for gaming). A portable gaming device would be perfect to revisit the memories! I can play FF8 in my bedroom like I used to back then!

I don't understand. I can't load the iso. I set everything up, but when I click on the "Select iso to load.", It just takes me to the "Main Menu" of the PSX where you insert the disk.

@GameDeath There is an option in the menu to switch discs. Press the menu button on your phone while in a game to see that option.

get ifrit first then farm ap from fish aroud that beach... then after first mission fight card with zell mom and got zell card... then use ability card change that got from quelzecot change it and get hyper wrist + 60% atk omg i still remember all this it an age for me hahaha

@TheSuffering111 Since FF8 is a PAL game, try the SCPH7502 BIOS, that is for Europe and might work better for PAL games.

@Chevy9100 Sorry I have not tried to use cheats on FPSE. If I find out how to use them I will let you know :) I think they are supposed to be "game shark" cheat codes.

@hairdewx well, i try using action replay and gameshark's on fpse , but they didn't work need reboot on fpse and then put the iso of ff8 and actually action replay works but the game crash :S

you are doing something wrong on the settings surely, it runs at 60 FPS constant on my xperia play

@d4rkpow3r For the most part it runs at 60 fps, there are a few times there is slight slowdown when transitioning to the world map or during big summoning spells, but that's about it so far. Plays great!

@gura I haven't gotten that far yet, but people on other forums have said they were able to play multi-disc RPGs just fine.
