Hi, thank you! I have used steel as well, but when you get tired you need to make sure you hit the pads :) Steel will probably chew them up quicker as well, so maybe some other solution would be better. On the other hand, they are training tools and I guess you could just tape them up for extra resilience. Tell me how it goes and if you come up with new stuff.
Nice one lads! Inspirational! I think i'll have a go at adopting this to Fiore in our club! By the way Axel, did I see some 135 degree feet angles in there? :-)
thanks guys, really appreciate all the videos you're willing to put online, especially the training oriented stuff. kudos from the other side of the globe!
Thanks for the kind words. We will try to put more clips online of how we train. The sparring clips are mainly for our own benefit, so that we can see how we develop.
@taffy1975 cool. you did a session on dynamic footwork for the recent american gathering, yes? I saw the posts writing it up on wma coalition. that looks like great stuff. any chance of seeing it a video of it uploaded?
Yes, I am planning on doing a video on that. I just haven't had time yet since it needs some sort of illustration. I will try to get it done this month though.
Super instructed. And if anybody think this is a light workout, you're doing it wrong. Every time we do this exercise my wrist are sore 'coz of the never ending cuts and thrusts. Great to train cardio, reach, fighting from different distances, continuous attacks, footwork and persistence.
Trully magnificent workout here. Congratulations.

Thanks for the video. I think it is great that you are sharing your training methods so we can all benifit.
Now I am stealing this exercise and using it in our next training :):)
Also: Is it only practical for nylon? Would a steel sword chew up the pads?

Great video. I might have to pick up some pads from the store I work at and give this a go with my instructor.
