Erin deserved to lose. She barely engaged in the fight and she was mostly static. If Ashley stopped using the flashy TKD kicks and used the bare basics, she could have KOed Erin. That's how bad Erin fought in this fight. And she had the nerve to say that she's "hardly scared" of Cris Cyborg. Looking like that, it would be more of a mercy kill than a competitive fight on Cyborg's end.
Erin Toughill should have never even been in the cage " She just got over a bad kidney infection from cutting weight. I will give her credit she could of pulled out of the fight but she didn't she is a true warrior.
@karnak0612 She really did not look good in this fight but her advantage against cyborg is reach an her physical strength. Toughill probably is the strongest fighter in womens MMA.Maybe she was overtrained in this fight.
@ufcfighter100000 I'm not taking anything away from Toughill or any other woman in the sport of fighting...they all made great strides and have taken the sport to another level. Now about the possible match-up between Cyborg and Toughill...my money was on Cyborg...she's an absolute beast in the cage, and Toughill looked like she needed more physical training to even consider getting into the cage. But in light of the recent steroid scandal involving Cyborg..it has changed my opinion drastically
@versatility357 Toughill isn't as Hungry and Intense as she used to be. It's not her fighting style problem against Santos or any other Woman Fighter, she has a Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu, so she can Ground Fight and not just Box. She been Very Humble being in Game long enough to see the Women MMA Grow. The Current Female MMA Fighters are Barking,Toughill isn't Barking as loud. She should Retire.
@soulofthebang I think we are both right because when that hunger kind of fades it affects your fighting style and the way she looked in this video was awful but I'm glad she represented womens MMA for so long. Maybe being humble was the problem though. We've watched MMA long enough to know a little controversy will get you to the front of the line. I had a friend who doesn't even watch the sport tell me to watch Ronda Rousey. It's messed up but true.
Wow, seriously....seriously!!! Is anybody else seeing this? Cyborg's name and this gal, should never be mentioned in the same sentence. How dillusional is she to think that her skills match, and even outweigh that or Chris'. WoW! I think I just pissed my pants laughing.
Can't decide which is more embarassing. The fact that Toughill got dominated at catchweight (via her request) by a 1-2-0 fighter or the fact that she blames her loss on sickness?
@58miles I don't know what her story is to tell you the truth. That wasn't her chance to prove anything.....I've seen her fight better than that in the past. Personally I think she overtrained before that match....she came in to it too tired from the very beginning. I'd like to see her in another fight. It really looked like she hadn't been training at all and just took her ass off the couch to come to the match...fighting Cyborg is how she'll prove herself.
@Thegreatartful Wow how many excuses do you plan to make for Toughill? Overtrained? She looked like she hadn't trained at all! The last time she beat a good fighter was 6yrs ago when she fought Marloes Coenen. Btw that was the last time she fought a good fighter. All of her opponents since then have been cans and she struggled to beat even them. Watch her fight against Jan Finney. Then watch Cyborgs fight against Finney, see the difference? Cyborg would destroy Erin easily.
I gotta agree with 58miles here. Erin has been all "mouth" lately, saying she is a better striker than Cyborg and that people who know both are 100% sure she (Erin) would beat Cris. Erin did a lot of trash talking, but, as you can see, couldn't back up her words. After a lot of Internet drama, that's what she delivers.
For the record, she pulled out of seven fights the past 2 years.
She was not warming up. She was just out of shape and was owned.
If any of you actually pay attention you can see that it looks like she's just warming up and testing the waters....she's not even trying to win the fight... she's just testing herself...it's just a practice run. I think the previous comments were too harsh... just wait til her next fight :) Ummm just actually FINISHED watching the whole thing...damn..she's definitely out of shape...better get her ass back to training.

@Thegreatartful So you think that Erin in her first fight in 2yrs, her chance to prove she's not overrated, over-hyped and over the hill, her chance to finally position herself to have her first meaningful fight in years and she is trying not to win? What the hell is wrong with you? She was trying to win but the truth is she really is overrated, over-hyped and way over the hill! Female MMA has outgrown Erin...period end of story!
...trying figure out how to keep the illusion going. Sure Erin was a bad-ass fighter back when women's MMA was a just a bunch of un-athletic one dimensional weekend warriors who didn't train MMA seriously, but now they are top athletes who train for hours every day and keep in top shape with impressive skill-sets and are more well rounded than ever before. Womens MMA has outgrown Erin and it's time for her to sit down, shut the hell up and go away for good this time!!
What I have to say is, Ashley Sanchez just exposed and retired Erin Toughill. Her career is ver. Erin hasn't fought in 2 years and nobody meaningful in over 6 years and and then in one of the worst fights I've seen in a long time loses to a 1-2 fighter who any decent fighter with a pulse would have demolished. Now we know why Erin has spent the last 2 years pulling out of fights with questionable injuries, phony contract disputes, silly retirement announcements and...(con't)
@58miles ...not even trying to make weight. Unlike her gullible fans and the fools in the media along with the fighters who were scared to fight her who bought into the big, blunt talking, bad ass fighter girl illusion, she knew she couldn't compete at the elite level anymore. She knew Coenen would beat her in a rematch, she knew even Olsen would beat her, same with Carano and knew beyond a doubt that a fight with Cyborg would be a one sided massacre, so she kept stalling for time,(cont)..
What was that? Erin seemed gassed after three minutes in the first round (after which Ashley Sanchez started to muscle her around). Then, she spent 80% of the fight throwing jabs in the air and doing 1-2 combinations...
In the last round, she almost seemed to be turtling... Whoa.
I wonder what 58miles will say of this performance.

Toughill is like 34 years old. Santos will kick her ass and kiss her like Mike Tyson

@soulofthebang 34 isn't old in MMA but her style is going to make her lose. She's not aggressive enough and cyborg invented the word.

just to get beat by a 1-2 fighter. That dose'nt make any sense.Like any pro athlete
if they are making a comeback, they should want to impress, would'nt you think?
