How much higher would you guess the turbine (and anemometer) would have to be raised to get them above the tree tops? I think it would made a big difference....
I agree with you that taller is better. I wish I could mount this to the top of a skyscraper or the top of a mountain. My tower is already maxed out as high as I'm willing to go, though, so that I am able to lower it and raise it on my own. My next turbine will be located on a more open area of my property. trees grow, towers don't. The wind is very turbulent or there is any...

Yes, the trees are absorbing a lot of the wind power at this particular location.

Now that it is winter, the trees have dropped their leaves and there is more wind available to the turbine.
