Word was that it was going to be relocated to a competing Los Vegas hotel and have the ride updated to feature the 2009 "preboot" "Star Trek" movie (apparently in real life the ride was never updated during the 9 years The Experience was running and was very dated-looking much and generally behind the times of other interactive rides) but for various reasons it never happened.

Was this on the Season 7 DVD? I got a behind the scenes featurette on the making of Borg Invasion 4D on my Season 4 DVD set, since season 4 introced 7 of 9 and had a bunch of borg-related episodes.

I think it makes more sense to have Paramount license just the ride for use at the Universal Studios Theme Parks.

No. but they're trying to bring it back. It'll be moved somewhere near the downtown area.
